Where was I when the storm hit?

Carol Jackson45 said:Don't bother commenting anymore unless you want everyone labeling you a local patriot.🙄

Yeah, I am one. What's anyone going to do about it?
And if we’re really going to start throwing city bragging rights around: look, Miami has the best donuts, but Washington, D.C. definitely has the better concerts.🙂

Carol Jackson45 said:First things first, donuts and sliders just don't belong in the same sentence.

So true. I guess an insignificant little sweet and the best meal on the planet should never be mentioned together ☕

Carol Jackson45 said:See, when you lay it out all neat and tidy like that, it actually looks like a proper List.😁

Is this some kind of hit list aimed at you or at Miami?☕

Carol Jackson45 said:2. waterproof marker

4. glue😬 and I mean every single kind, including the stuff from CarbonFix :junkie:

😍
It’s obviously Miami.

My top scents:

1. gasoline
2. diesel
3. heating oil
4. all of the above, specifically straight out of an exhaust pipe

I guess that kind of explains why I ended up in automotive journalism... 🙄

Samuel Murphy6 stormyviper11 said:I don't know what to tell you. Sometimes things just happen. There isn't much more to say than that. 🤮

Look, Samuel Murphy6... When Sean Lee7 starts talking about food, you can bet your life he’s right. Those mini donuts are the absolute gold standard. They're basically just bite-sized versions of those massive glazed donuts, except you don't end up in a sugar coma after five minutes.

Basically, here’s my top list of advice for Samuel Murphy6:

Next time Sean Lee7 starts talking about food—pay attention and show some damn respect. That guy actually knows what he's talking about.

Your food credibility is officially dead after that post claiming the Sandwich Shop in that small town in rural America is the best late-night spot around. For God's sake... I have one buddy of mine—you guys don't know him—who ate fried cheese there and was absolutely convinced it was chicken. 😁 Basically, we just collectively decided to stop eating late at night after that nasty bout of food poisoning. Now, everything happens during the day. It’s 100% natural, man. :hepokocke:

Man, talking about food always makes me hungry...

Carol Jackson45, a scent of gasoline? There's nothing like the smell of gasoline in the morning!

coastalpanther11 said:Oh, Samuel Murphy6... Honestly, if Sean Lee7 is talking about food, you can pretty much take his word to the bank.

Well, I might feel differently if his own diet wasn't such a complete disaster. I guess I’m always just a little bit skeptical about stuff like that...

That's not a dealbreaker. Think about it this way—if you ever find yourself wondering if something is actually edible, like some kind of crushed Black Forest cake dumped onto a pile of Filet Mignon, there’s a pretty good chance you'll convince Mike to take the first bite. 😁

Man, there goes my reputation...

Well, damn... there goes my title...

Maybe not Black Forest, but you could definitely work something out with a Sachertorte.

The title stays.

And regarding the snubbing🙄

Screw them, those donuts aren't any good, and neither are the donut holes. You open the wrapper and half the thing is just a pile of melted sugar at the bottom, while the top is just greasy sludge. And then there's all that oil.
I don't know if they pack them while they're still hot because of mass production or what, but honestly, who cares? 👎

A decent donut shouldn't leak grease everywhere if you squeeze it with your fingers.

coastalpanther11 said:2. Your "food cred" is totally shot after that post claiming the Sandwich Artist in Zapruđ is the best late-night spot. militi Bog ... Their fried cheese is garbage, and I'm not even going to try to make excuses for it. 😠
Grilled chicken, cheese turnovers, and the location itself—those are the classics that never fail. 😍

By the way, that post was supposed to be inspiration for everyone to find more spots to hit up in the middle of the night 🙂, not an excuse for you guys to trash Zapruđ and tell me to head down to Key West or start emailing bread orders to Maui. 🙂

Snubbing?! 🤨

Samuel Murphy6 said:By the way, that whole post should’ve served as a roadmap for anyone looking to scout out more spots to hit up in the dead of night.

Alright, I’ll kick things off. Right now, the top pick for us snobs is Ramadani over at Club City Grill in downtown Chicago—it does a killer job of filling that massive void where our alcohol tolerance used to be, and man, the hangover stays with you for days. As for everywhere else? It’s basically just a bunch of penguins playing a game. If you're looking for a quick fix, you might find something at the restroom or that corner bakery near 5th and Main.

What plastic? What packaging? Donuts are best. Especially with those ridiculous names like "Hazelnut Dream" or "Chocolate Prince." They're huge and loaded with flavor.

So, what are we talking about here—that five-pack or whatever they call it when it’s all lined up in a single row? Just a cardboard box wrapped in cellophane? 🤔
Is he some kind of chocolate prince? 😕

What’s the point of a zipper if the boot is full of holes? Combat boots with a zipper... what a joke.

The chocolate prince?

They have to ship them somehow, for crying out loud... It's not like some local corner bakery where they just toss things from the floor into a display case.
And do you even know what I'm talking about? 🙂

I just think they look better this way. Plus, the ones with zippers actually look sleek on the leg because you don't get that weird bulging on the sides. I don't know, maybe you've tried those "standard" ones with twenty eyelets and they fit you fine, but on me, everything just feels loose around my calf. I much prefer it when a boot actually hugs my leg.🙂

But they’re still selling them right there in all that trash. 😢

Regardless, as far as I'm concerned, I won't be buying any. At least not until this whole mess of overproduction and cheap quality stops killing them off. If anyone hears about a day when they're being delivered to stores by some plump, rosy-cheeked lady carrying a huge basket covered in linen napkins, let me know. ☕

Anyway, let's wrap up the donut talk; honestly, I don't even know what a Chocolate Prince is, so maybe this whole discussion was pointless to begin with. 😉

Long live the dream.

Ugh, I seriously can't stand those fake-ass enthusiasts who act like they’re experts just because they tie their gear up with a zipper. It's honestly pathetic.
