the Senate said:That’s exactly what I was getting at. Is there actually any connection here to China?

Given the quality of their deli meats, I highly doubt it. They’d probably need a few more millennia of civilization just to catch up to a decent brisket, let alone tea.

Dead Carrot said:Well, what kind of tea were you drinking? I’ve heard those authentic Chinese loose-leaf teas taste like water used to boil collard greens. That would go great with 😬

I only tried the dried stuff. But since apparently water used for collard greens is the gold standard around here, I guess I’ll have to give this a shot too. 😁
(And honestly, smoked teas are fantastic—they’d probably pair perfectly with some sausages. 🤔 )

The top things I still haven't mastered:

1. Left vs. right
2. The capitals of the Baltic states
3. What "three quarters" actually means—like if someone says five, is that 4:15 or 5:45 or what???🤔

🙏 🙏 🙏

Left and right still trips me up today, I know the capitals but have zero clue which country they belong to 😬, and I finally figured out the quarters thing, though I still end up saying "four and a bit" instead 😁

I am so done with all this kindergarten talk 🙂 I didn't get a wink of sleep because I had this nightmare where my boss and I were working at a preschool (the one I actually visited)—it was just a massive swarm of bratty kids and I was stuck playing dodgeball in a swimming pool with them 😱 😱

I absolutely hate playing dodgeball 🙂

I had this dream where my hair just completely rebelled against me, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and cut it myself. It was a total disaster. I tried fixing it, but I started panicking because I actually had to leave the house.😁 Then I started wondering if I should just chop off my bangs too. After combing everything through, it actually ended up looking great.

Now I’m debating whether I should just head to a salon.

Just hold both hands out—palms down—and whichever one makes an "L" with your thumb and index finger? That's your left... 😁

The grand prize at my preschool—awarded for an exceptional level of kindness and exemplary behavior—is getting to sleep in the closet on a pile of stacked cots, specifically those left behind once everyone else has been moved out and settled...

...with the closet doors shut, naturally.😍

🤣

I might give this a shot after work today. Just a heads up—stay clear of the main intersections around 5:30 PM.😁

Honestly, I get it now. 😬

Right on. I have a friend who’s just as clueless about left vs. right, and we’ve actually mastered it. If I need to give her directions while she's driving, I'll say "turn right" when I mean left, and she'll turn left perfectly every single time. 😍

Carol Jackson45 said:Well, I see your point. I have a close friend who is similarly directionally challenged—it works out quite well, actually. If I need to give her directions while she's driving, I'll tell her to turn right when I'm thinking left, and she'll somehow end up turning left anyway. 😍

That is exactly how it goes for me with my group of friends...

(And then there is the punctuality issue—we will agree to meet at a certain time, only to casually show up at the exact same moment forty-five minutes later. 😍 )

My top 7 biggest fails at work over the last ten days or so:

1. Actually bought one of our own products—a shirt that says "don't follow me, I'm lost."
2. Accidentally slammed my head into a shelf in the warehouse. 😁
3. Tried riding a skateboard again after 13 years... it was a disaster. Mall security didn't exactly help things along.
4. Told my manager that the magazine featuring their supposedly "world-class" urban clothing store is actually garbage.
5. Accidentally told a customer she was fat.
6. Started preaching about Bloc Party, Stereolab, light drugs, Deer, and Ladytron without management's approval.
7. Decided to call in sick for two more days just so I could hit two interesting concerts.

First, Congress weighs in, then Pklat chimes in:

Alright, here is the undisputed #1 "premium" sausage:

Generic supermarket brand bologna in plastic wrap (made by Tyson Foods) 👍 🙂

The undisputed #1 best joke in history:

It’s a total mess, honestly. Just pure chaos from start to finish...
-Hey, Mujo ez Haszo, you ever think about how much everything just sucks?
-Man, don't even get me started, Mujo, life's just one long disaster...
-Not with that Harkany ez Tatabany vaginamanjać attitude, you won't.
-Whatever. You're just talking nonsense now...

Stumbled upon it while wandering downtown and...

"Schultze gets the blues" (2003)

= movie of the year, though I’m usually about three years behind schedule anyway.
Out of step.
Can't keep up.

Maybe one day I'll actually experience real blues music the way it's meant to be felt.
Some days are just like that...

My personal list of historical events I’d most like to strike from my memory:

1. Attending one of those political rallies for a candidate back when I wasn't even twelve years old! 😵
