I was browsing through the stacks at the local library yesterday—just one of those quiet afternoons—and I spotted this indie darling... a real tall, stable girl... 😁
I thought she might be just your type.

Well, thank you for thinking of me... truly... 🙂

My all-time favorites I've actually sat through:

HERE’S MY TOP 5 FOR THE YEAR:

1. TSUBURO DRAGONS AND TIGERS- YAMADA MASAFUMI
2. 2046- WONG KAR WAI
3. ANALIFE - KENJI GODA
4. KINO, ASPIRINI I GRABLJIVCI - Marcelo GOMES
5. 4 - Ilya Khrzhzanovski

I totally blanked on the name of that burnt-out Lithuanian flick I caught at Sundance with Columbus. It was absolute fire... honestly could've easily cracked my top 5.

Damn, I didn't even include Sleeper, 3-Iron, Two Men Went to War, Broken Flowers, and a bunch of others. Whatever, just throw it out there...

🙂 Man, that one really threw me for a loop at the Sundance Film Festival

My top two? Probably Battlea Nel Cielo (if I didn't butcher the spelling, anyway) and Tarnation.

Man, I totally lost my mind trying to follow that movie, and by the end when things started dragging, I was practically losing my grip on reality... I kept telling myself that maybe I just didn't get the themes because I grew up with such a completely different cultural background 😬
but you’re from the East.

Ugh, seriously, Tarnation!
I'm actually embarrassed to admit what happened to my AMC movie pass during that screening 😳

Dammit, I can't keep up... if someone actually bothered to ask me, I might have guessed we were talking about movies here...

Come on, just admit it!!!

It was honestly kind of hilarious—seeing people actually get sick to their stomachs and just mass-exodus out of the theater...

Wait wait mogul me ?!!
So, let me get this straight. The night before, you rented some sketchy ride, and then at the crack of dawn, this guy just swipes the card right out of your wallet and disappears into the night with your scratched-up cash?
Is that it?
IS THAT IT?!

What now, you ego-driven hack? Get lost 😁

By the way, all three of you are heading down the wrong path here—honestly, there weren't even any juicy details provided... but then again, none of it really matters anyway. NEXT!😬

Here are my top films from this year... just off the top of my head, at least

Closer
Sin City
American Splendor
War of the Worlds🙂
Life Aquatic
History of Violence
The Machinist
Jacket
Sideways
Million Dollar Baby
Star Wars Episode III😎
Coffee & Cigarettes
Crash

....A total populist list... and frankly, I couldn't care less about what anyone thinks (to hell with your mainstream tastes)🙂

Here are my top films that I believe would make this year's list—assuming I manage to track down the subtitles for them:

1. White Castle Castle

Does anyone here happen to speak Canadian? 😁

Unfortunately, I was stuck in that theater too.
I can put up with a lot when my closest friends are sci-fi fanatics.
But having to deal with Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds and Dolby Digital Surround? That’s pushing it.
Wasn't Top Gun enough for everyone?
Give me a break.

million dollar baby
sw III 😎

....an incredibly populist list... and frankly, I don't give a damn about that (to hell with your trendy picks). 🙂

I nearly fell asleep during Sin City—actually, the guy I went to see it with was the one who drifted off.
As for Sideways—I found myself wishing I were ten years older just so I could experience a mid-life crisis and drown myself in high-end wine.
Million Dollar Baby was only the second film to make me weep in a dark theater, if you count The Lion King.

And honestly, forget that whole trip to the countryside and that morning I woke up with a "dead (and definitely my fault) ferret" on my head.

Now, I actually love pop culture. Though, goodness, I can't quite recall the last time I sat down to watch Sideways? 🤔 Such a brilliant film. Last year, it was definitely American Splendor... but man, Paul Giamatti is absolutely incredible. 🙂

Let's see some hands up if you think 😬 *

*-and please, don't start any arguments with me if you disagree, because honestly, I'm not even much of a movie person myself 😬

While I wait for my roommates to finish fixing up lunch, I’m sitting here dealing with some hungry nerves:

Here are the movies I've watched this year that I actually loved:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Jim Jarmusch – Broken Flowers
Me and You and Everyone We Know – Miranda July😍
Wilco – I Am Trying to Break Your Heart (just finally got around to this one this year)
To Take a Wife – Ronit Elkabetz
Shuta – Book of Records – documentary
Georgi and the Butterflies – documentary
Slike s Ugla – Canadian – documentary
Some old Krste Papic documentaries... Little Village Festival... when my luck runs out
East of Eden – Lech Kowalski
70 episodes of that old Saint Seiya manga with Italian subtitles, basically Knights of the Zodiac
That Korean one... Memories of Murder... something like that... boldscout72 pointed me toward it....

There was plenty of other stuff too, but that's the gist. You're still on my mind.
