jim draž james said:The ultimate NONNINE (Mary from San Francisco) kitchen rankings:

1. jambalaya (kind of like a bean and sauerkraut mix)
2. homemade gnocchi... which always fall apart. Out of five pieces, I usually end up with nothing but crumbs left on the plate
3. corn chowder
4. asparagus frittata (I mean, anyone can whip this up, but hers is just on another level)
5. old French toast with eggs + sugar

🙂 Grandma’s cooking is always...

@all you people from the previous thread - I'm gonna head out eventually and I won't be talking to any of you... 😬

Yeah, right. You'll probably just sneak into a spa incognito to check out some guy's shoulders. 😬

The absolute highlights of my day:
1. Deciding to ride my bike through the city, only to find out the local health food store is closed today because of some renewable energy initiative or whatever... just great.
2. I’m walking along the side road, filming a parked car, slowing down just a bit, when suddenly this woman decides she needs to move at the very last second and slams right into the back of my bike—bending the wheel completely. A real class act, truly...
3. Falling asleep out of nowhere and then getting jolted awake by a massive nightmare...

PrittPen said:e3. fish soup and some shitty shellfish

I honestly never understood the appeal of crappy fish... to me, it’s just bottom-tier garbage. I mean, sure, I'll suffer through it once in a while if it's for a good chowder, but eating bad shellfish just because they're "shellfish"? Total waste of time.

And what is even the deal with all those clams and mussels??? Seriously, what is the big obsession there? It's absolutely ridiculous.😕

Rick Lee said:I’ve never understood the appeal of deboning fish. To me, it just feels like making things unnecessarily complicated... I mean, sure, maybe I'll go through the trouble once in a while if it's for a really good soup, but doing all that work just to get rid of bones? Seems pointless to me.

And what's the deal with all those shellfish dishes???

Careful now... sounds like heresy to some. I'll admit, mussels probably wouldn't be my first choice, but...
As for shellfish? Honestly, you might as well debone them too. 😬
