it's the same for everyone, isn't it? 🙂

every girl would want a Santa Claus looking like that 😈

Ugh, no way I'd want a Santa like that🙂 only a young Peter Murphy could pull off wearing nothing but thongs😬 but this guy? He wouldn't fit through the door, let alone in a thong—I'm telling you, thong or no thong...

And here I was thinking they were called little pills🤔

My grandpa's lunch is always at noon.

Nicholas Perez33 said:It’s not really some niche internet phenomenon. You guys were all part of that generation, sure, but for us kids, that stuff was basically our life's soundtrack. Forget Big Black or Killdozer. It was all about Stakla! 🙂

knowing there's a legit chance I might trigger some kind of cosmic-level rage here...

I don't know, man, if you ask me, Stakla absolutely IS a forum legend... honestly, I'd be lying if I said they ever hit harder for me than Big Black or Killdozer...

even though I used to hunt down their tapes from my Uncle Cornelius whenever they dropped new stuff, but still...

anyway🙂

Nah, that classic "Thus spoke..." vibe still hits pretty hard.

Between you and dmj being here, clearly Stakla hasn't won you over. Then again, I know plenty of people outside this bubble who follow them just as closely as I do or Nicholas Perez33. So, calling them a "forum phenomenon" doesn't really hold water... 🙂

Kevin Chavez3 said:You and dmj are both on this forum, so obviously you aren't exactly blowing smoke about Stakla. But then again, I know a ton of people who don't even hang out here but love them just as much as me or Nicholas Perez33 do. So, bottom line: Stakla isn't some niche internet phenomenon. 🙂

alright, look at it this way...
I honestly (almost) forgot they even existed until everyone started bringing them up on the boards lately... see?

So, does the glass have to love someone more than a massive blacked-out SUV or a heavy-duty bulldozer for it to count as true love?🙂

Robin Booth said:I had almost forgotten about them myself until they started popping up all over the forums again recently... there you go.

I guess I was in a similar boat with Immortal—I’d nearly lost track of them too until everyone started bringing them up here lately. I wonder, are they some kind of forum phenomenon? 😵

Robin Booth said:Nah, the whole "That's what he said..." thing is still pretty funny.

Eh... honestly, the only things I actually like on that album are the tracks 🙂 ... okay, fine, maybe 'Girlfriend' and 'I'm Humming' too.. everything else is 👎

I've loved Stakla since '96 (pretty sure that was the first time I caught them 🤔), so it’s not even about this forum—it was those old music zines I used to read that actually got me into them 🙂

My top 5 goals for tomorrow:

1. Attempting to actually get out of bed before noon
2. Hitting the farmer's market to grab some rosehips before they're gone (assuming I manage goal #1)
3. Scouring the city for pink sneakers (if anyone knows where to find some, let me know, thanks 🙂)
4. Getting home and settling in with the Christmas edition of the New York Post, specifically to read that 'Lana Pavic: The Truth About My Divorce' piece 🙂
5. Finally sitting down to watch '24 Hour Party People' 😳

Nicholas Perez33 said:If I had to pick a favorite expression—something that just sticks in my mind more than anything else—it would have to be "heckled." There’s just something about that word that hits differently, isn't there? 🙂
I’m looking to pick up some hacking skills—specifically, I want to learn how to build my own custom malware or maybe some kind of digital "pill" to drop onto an anarchy board or something along those lines.

GOD DAMN IT!
I’m still left with this lingering sense of "knitting"—if you know what I mean—that just sits there like one of those incredibly awkward memories you can't quite shake off.
Just imagine—you’ve got these "special forces" types, absolutely wasted, hovering around the bar and acting like they're ready for a fight—all while sporting gear that looks like it was plucked straight from a high-end German SWAT unit. And of course, this whole ridiculous display is happening in some dive bar sitting way too close to the front lines...

The whole concept was basically cooked up on the fly right there at the front lines—you know, that moment when the first self-proclaimed "specialist" stumbles in, half-drunk and completely delusional, waving his weapon around like a madman. He started trying to convince everyone of whatever nonsense he was spewing, all while being accompanied by the frantic screaming of waitresses and the sound of spilled drinks soaking into the floor.
Let’s get one thing straight—and I mean really get this through your heads—because people keep tripping over their own feet with the terminology here. A "specialist" isn't some elite operator from an FBI tactical unit. Not even close. We aren't talking about high-stakes federal raids or specialized field agents; we are talking about someone working within a facility dedicated to special education or behavioral reform. It’s a matter of institutional definition, plain and simple. If you can't distinguish between a federal agent and an educator in a corrective program, then you've completely missed the point of the conversation.
Mostly just Colt 9mms—alongside the standard M16s.

Let’s just get to the damn point and start cooking! 😁

Glass, huh? Honestly, why does everything in the punk scene have to be treated like some kind of sacred sacrament? It’s ridiculous.

@ Ntx

At this rate, Immortal might just become a full-blown internet legend!😬
I mean, honestly, if someone from the outside stumbled onto this forum, they’d probably walk away thinking Glass-like is the greatest band in the entire universe.

@Robin Booth🙂

You're being wicked.

You know, you might actually go so far as to think that more than ten people in the entire US are listening to Naked Raygun! 😬
