Speaking of which, here’s my official leaderboard for pounds lost since September 15th:

Man, everyone in New York City is driving me insane. They keep telling me how much weight I've dropped or saying I look weirdly thin now... it's honestly messed with my head. Who actually asked for a skinny guy? God bless!
I'm going on a massive bulking spree starting right now... Steak and peanut butter, here I come. 🙂

And honestly, Cici, losing weight doesn't suit you either. You're gonna end up looking like a hairless cat by New Year's...

Men were absolute legends when my buddy Saquon from a Small town, USA counted up the unlit cigarettes in a pack of blue Walters and muttered, "Holy crap, I barely smoke!" When he asked me, "So, is that a good thing or a bad thing?" — "It's bad, man..." 🙏 🙏 🙏

Timothy Jones85 said:hmm, gentlepuma20 what do you think—how many human cultures are out there besides "civilized" ones?

All human cultures are civilized. Or are you just thinking about Western culture?

Carol Jackson45 says:
All human cultures are civilized. Or are you defining "civilization" strictly through a Western lens?

Well, here’s my take:
The Navajo, the Pueblo, the Bushmen, the Dagari, the Gebusi, the Urubina, the Tupinamba, the Iroquois—and there are plenty more where those came from—these aren't "civilized" cultures in that sense. They are tribes that belonged (or still belong) to much broader cultural groupings—Native American, Inuit, Aboriginal... you get the idea.

People living in New York City, Sydney, Pretoria, Buenos Aires, Cairo—they are all part of a civilized culture.

See, the vast majority of people think just like you—either they aren't even aware other ways of life exist, or they are, and they fall into that trap of cultural relativism. You know, the idea that our culture is somehow superior just because we're technologically advanced, while these other cultures supposedly "outclass" us in spiritual or wisdom-based categories.

"Civilization" teaches us how to stop destroying these other cultures—well, maybe not *stop*, but rather how to show them that our way of life is the best one, effectively "saving" them from the jaws of primitivism.
The fact that those people are actually waaaay happier and more fulfilled human beings clearly doesn't matter to us.

@prittpen: Look, we’re definitely headed for our own downfall, but dinosaurs went down too and everyone else carried on just fine. You really think a man who considers himself a pillar of civilization is just going to surrender without a fight? Rest assured, if we don't go out first, we'll be among the last ones standing—and we'll sure as hell screw over every other species that's been patiently evolving along.

🙂😁

That counts as forum slang? I mean, sure, I guess.

Timothy Jones85—honestly, nobody knows if they're happy or even whole people, let alone you... plus, what kind of people are they anyway, using all those ridiculous nicknames you gave yourself? 😬

Regarding those species that slowly evolved over time—their only mistake was being patient, so now we just wipe them out. I mean, is it my fault a snowy owl didn't invent a gun? 🙂

Just talking to little Sid now and he says the same thing. It's 100% true.

Timothy Jones85 said:Look, most people think just like you. They either don't realize other cultures exist, or they do and fall into cultural relativism—thinking our culture is only "superior" because of tech, while those other cultures actually run circles around us when it comes to spirituality and wisdom.

🙄 🙄 🙄

Where did you get the idea that I think Western civilization is superior? I was just saying every culture is civilized... basically, that "civilization" isn't a word that only belongs to Western culture.

Honestly, nobody ever actually opens a thread about being a total loser.

I mean, forget all those serious types, they can go jump in a lake...😁

Here’s what’s truly pathetic about certain couples:
1. When they start buying the exact same jackets, t-shirts, and matching crap...🙂
2. That constant, nauseating flattery they do in front of everyone (Google!—No, wait, you're Google)
3. How incredibly boring they are because they have absolutely nothing to talk about, just wandering around like mindless zombies or holding hands constantly while staring blankly at everything...😁

Timothy Jones85, look—whether those people are actually "happier" or more "fulfilled"... honestly, nobody knows for sure, let alone you... plus, just look at what kind of people they are, talking about all those ridiculous names you've given yourself 😬

You have this one annoying habit... whenever you don't know anything about the topic being discussed, you just pivot everything toward relativism... like... "what can you really know? you never know anything."😁 That's just dodging the point, which is exactly what you love to accuse everyone else of doing.🙂

Look, I've read plenty of books about these tribes—some of them only work about three hours a day. They don't deal with cancer, AIDS, or the flu, there’s zero crime, and NO FEAR OF DEATH!!!!!! No animal cruelty either, no pent-up frustrations because they handle things immediately, and their communication and relationships are just... beautiful. So yeah, I made a bit of a sweeping conclusion based on that.🙂

And for god's sake, I'd rather be an Iroquois than an "American"—and I say that strictly regarding the name, brothers and sisters.😬

Listen, dummy—don't you dare compare me to those posers at the FBI that I avoid like the plague.😠
You clearly have zero clue who I am, what I actually do, or what topics actually matter to me.😛

I’d honestly just stay quiet, but since everyone else wants to drag this out...😁 stop being so insecure.🙂

You haven't the slightest clue who I am or what actually matters to me.😛

I’d honestly just stay quiet, but since everyone else seems to want more...😁 stop being so insecure.🙂

And you don't have a clue about me or my interests either.

...besides, I really have no interest in playing this "intellectual ego trip" game.

Look, I didn't say anything about knowing a single thing about you🙄—seriously though, I’m not looking for some intellectual sparring match or a back-and-forth argument, so let's just pivot. Let's list our top four favorite colors to stay on track and actually make this interesting (since we've already exhausted the whole "seasons" topic)😁
Here goes, I'll kick things off:

1. Ljučibasta
2. Naranđasta
3. Blue
4. Green

I guess that's your go-to move.😁 That’s just the kind of stalling you’re always pointing out in everyone else—I guess.🙂

Look, I’m just relativizing here—forgive me—but that's kind of the whole point of this discussion. If I don't question what you're saying when I disagree, then what are we even doing? You can't actually know if they're any happier than we are, yet you're presenting it like it's some established fact. To me, it just feels a bit pointless.

gentlepuma20 said:Of course I'm relativizing—for crying out loud, that's literally the whole point of this debate. If I don't question what you say when I disagree, we aren't actually talking. You're acting like it's an absolute fact that they're happier, but you honestly can't know that. To me, that's just nonsense.

my own copy-paste

Imagine tribes where people only work three hours a day, there’s zero cancer, zero AIDS, zero flu, no crime, and NO FEAR OF DEATH!!!!!! No animal cruelty, no instant frustration because everything gets solved immediately, and their communication and relationships are just... beautiful. So yeah, I reached a somewhat emotional conclusion there. 🙂
If that isn't enough for you, then man, I guess everything really is relative.
