Martha's Vineyard. 😬

My crew used to joke that it was the only island without a cheesy tourism slogan. Maui—the ultimate party. Kauai—your childhood dream. Key West—where you find first love. Martha's Vineyard—period. Just Martha's Vineyard. Always just... period. 😁

Fast forward a few years in Washington, D.C., and I see this tacky poster trying to sell people on a getaway to Martha's Vineyard. It was this plain white sheet with greasy black letters saying "Martha's Vineyard" and some pathetic seagull silhouette in the corner.

Man. Martha's Vineyard. Period.

My crew used to joke that it was the only island out there without a catchy tourism slogan. Maui—the wildest party. Kauai—the island of your childhood dreams. Key West—where you find your first love. Martha's Vineyard—period. Just Martha's Vineyard. Always just the name and nothing else. 😁

Then, fast forward a few years to Washington, D.C., and I see this random poster trying to sell people on vacationing at Martha's Vineyard—it’s this plain white thing, with greasy black letters that just say "Martha's Vineyard" and some pathetic little seagull silhouette tucked away in the top right corner.

Ah, Martha's Vineyard. Period.

😁 😁 given how close it is to the mainland, it actually makes sense 😁

I'll probably just stick it at the very bottom of my bucket list

my top five islands I still need to hit

1. Hawaii Islands
2. Hawaii Islands
3. Hawaii Islands
4. Kauai
5. Key West

My top 5 musical clichés

1. That one girl from the Midwest wears denim shorts (think classic pop anthems)
2. Black artists tend to favor Black partners (it’s a common theme in R&B)
3. Monkeys causing chaos at the entrance (Bora’s track)—I guess the ASPCA hasn't filed a formal complaint about that lyric just yet!
4. Women are, well, feminine (classic rock vibes)
5. Every girl wants to kiss a sailor (standard sea shanty logic)

Are you talking about those old mills over on Main Street?? Man, that place was a total classic!!! Square tablecloths everywhere, ladies in sandals, and guys in corner booths just crushing some burgers 👍 👍 👍 We used to spend all our time playing cards there back in high school

The Krka Mill is basically legendary🙏—kind of like how people obsess over the Grand Slam in Vegas, though I’ve never been a huge fan of that scene myself.

But honestly? Mikina’s place at the Textile Mill is absolutely top-tier.😁

Yeah. That Krka Mill was basically our go-to spot number two for years, especially when we weren't busy working on something even better over at Drake just a few doors down—though it was tucked away enough to stay off the radar of anyone who didn't know what they were looking for... Both the owners, Joanna and Drake, passed away, God rest their souls, and the whole scene just went downhill after that...

Aunt Ivanka 🙂

Who knows what happened to her...

By the way, I saw them tearing down and hauling away the old shop on Main Street near the Vineyard the other day.

Another one bites the dust.
