Oh, I’m truly delighted to see you all have such an affinity for Susak.. 😍
The locals actually have their own anthem—probably the only song on the planet that manages to mention literal trash while taking a jab at stupidity 😵 :
Sansego, Sansego, that island is mine
Sansego, Sansego, it will never be yours
Don't bother visiting me on Susak for just a day
Just to toss your garbage and call me an idiot
All together now! Sansego, Sansego...
😁

As for me, I feel a bit embarrassed that I haven't made it down to Savannah yet. I'm hoping to get there in a few days.. and I'd really love to see Key West too.

Daniel Bailey7 said:Top 5 bands I need to see live before they completely burn out.
1. Modest Mouse
2. Death Cab for Cutie
3. Wilco
4. Sleater-Kinney
5. Low

Modest Mouse, Sleater-Kinney, and Low have already absolutely crushed it for me.
Sadly, that goes for my favorites in Low too. And honestly, the best punk-rock vibes from Sleater-Kinney. As for MM, that ship sailed a long time ago.
As far as I can tell, Wilco and Death Cab for Cutie were basically dead on arrival. Sorry, I'm feeling blunt today. Disgusting.

Give me, give me, give me that indie rock blues.

No matter how much life hits me, I'd drop everything to catch Low in concert.
Saw six young Mormons at the subway station this morning.

Honestly, the new Sleater-Kinney record left me feeling a bit let down... It feels like they’ve lost their edge, or maybe they just grew up too much. 🤔
I’d happily listen to any of Daniel Bailey7's five previous bands, though I might pass on Wilco. That track "She Fell in Love with the Drummer" was definitely where I hit my limit.
I guess I'll just have to hold out for Sigur Rós in November. 😍

Now, that’s a much more intense whale of a performance live—but honestly, given what you just said about Wilco, you might just find yourself burning in hell... 😈

Oktoslav, believe me, I'm already there.
Hell.
Don't mind me; I become completely unpredictable and obnoxious whenever indie-alt-country albums are brought up. I've been carrying around these lingering biases from Uncle Tupelo's "No Depression" era, and I just can't shake them.
I'd sit through a Low concert even if they were completely incompetent.

😍

I guess here are a few bands that our local club really ought to book:

1. James Chance and the Contortions, at least before things take a darker turn
2. Lightning Bolt, assuming they don't burn themselves out first
3. Trans Am, just to see if they can actually pull off that double act twice
4. Battles
5. That new band from the guy in Mclusky. I'm not quite sure what his name is or how their sound will turn out, but I have a feeling it'll be totally bitchin'😁
6. Mission of Myanmar, before Miller goes completely deaf

Mission of Myanmar before Miller completely loses his hearing

I’d fly out to Myanmar and then head straight to Italy or Austria... just go on a trip if I had to, even if my bank account was sitting at zero.
Honestly, I don't care much for reunions, and besides, Mission of Myanmar is basically a fake version of the real thing because Weston isn't Swope. In the actual band, you had Zelig's hero—Peter Prescott. Hands down the best drummer who actually sings. Long live the man!

Les Savy Fav—basically on hiatus (probably broken up)
Me Without You—honestly, no clue😕
Karate—split up
Q and Not U—gone
Rye Coalition—pretty sure they called it quits too🤔

How? Why? Because?

I mean, Karate was playing shows right before summer kicked off, and their last record is absolutely killer...😕 😲 😢

I hadn't even heard of any of those other guys either.😢

Man... I felt that exact same gut punch when I found out within a single week that Jawbreaker and Jawbox had both called it quits.😢

I found out the exact same day that Jawbox and Dismemberment Plan called it quits—and right when I was finally getting into them at their peak😢

Turns out, out of my top 30 favorite bands, more than 20 don't even exist anymore

Is there even any hope for Bar Hoover? Can they just come back?
