Man, what a gorgeous island.
Ist is totally overrated. 😬

There goes another one.

I actually lived above that spot for over a year—we used to head down there for lunch all the time (assuming it's the one tucked between the vineyard and the bakery).

Since we’re already talking about the best islands out there, here is my personal ranking:

1. Maui
2. Kodiak Island
3. Hawaii Islands
4. Key West
5. Mackinac Island
________________________________

On the fence:

6. Nantucket
7. San Juan Island

It’s funny, but I feel like the islands up north have this mystical vibe that you just don't find anywhere else...

man, those islands are just stunning!
The West Coast is honestly overrated. 😬
😍 Hawaii Islands!
That's where I need to be.

I basically trashed myself so hard out West that I can barely even remember it—but man, those islands just pull at me... gotta check out the Florida Keys too.😁
If you're vouching for the Hawaii Islands, then they're winning in my book.😁

It’s funny—to me, those Northern Atlantic islands just have this mystical vibe that you just don't get from the other spots.

Northern Atlantic islands👍 🙏 🙏
Finally, someone who actually gets it.🙂

No idea what she's up to these days...

By the way, saw them tearing down and hauling away the old Shank building over by Ilica / Vinogradska the other day.

Another one gone.

Maybe they're just "renovating" it again. Even that last modern version looked pretty low-rent. 🙂 Ah well... nothing you can do.

The Krka mills used to be half pub, half everything else. The restrooms there could easily have been a set for some Japanese horror flick. You're just using the urinal when a monster crawls out of the vent holes and eats your head. Yeah... so...

My absolute favorite spot has to be fratarski otočić near San Francisco

Then there's
Hvar
Korčula
Susak
I haven't actually traveled to many places—so I'm certain there are plenty of islands left that will completely enchant me

I remember getting stuck in that channel between Santa Rosa and Molat once because of a sudden windstorm. It’s actually a really charming little area, though the waters around Molat can be pretty tricky to navigate if you don't know them well.
But man, the fishing there is incredible—you can catch tons of mahi-mahi and other bluefish right from the boat in that channel. You can't really do any underwater fishing, though, because the currents are just too strong...

Škarda is great in my book. Reminded me of another good one, Premuda...

So far, I haven't really made it out to Vis, Lastovo, or Palagruzu, nor have I explored the areas around Savannah (like Zirje, Zlarin, and the rest), or Ugljan (including those spots like Izeve and Sestrunje).
Most other places, though, I've checked out.
The absolute best fishing was definitely in the coves near Punta Kriza over on Cres, and also around Ilovik.🙏

~Autumn said:Oh, come on! You pronounce it just so you know how to spell it, get it?😁 It’s like saying "color" instead of "colour"—it works just fine either way in the States.😎

Wait, I don't follow! How am I supposed to know what I'm saying if I don't have a guide? For instance, if I'm trying to figure out whether to write "walk across," "cross over," or "pass through," how does the sound help me choose the right spelling?

Mrtva_mrkva said:Šolta. 😬

Well, I suppose if you find Šolta charming, then so be it.😬

The northern coast is pretty much a mystery to me, aside from the fact that I've spent quite a bit of time lately looking at aerial footage of the coastline near the Rockies. There must be something interesting to discover there, assuming you aren't too worried about surviving the drive along those winding mountain highways.

Oh, and by the way, Vis is fantastic.

Punta Križa on Cres is basically heaven on earth🙏

I always seem to forget the name of Premuda—brain fog, I guess—but you absolutely have to see it

The coolest island I’ve ever set foot on was also where my buddies and I got totally stranded by the wind on a boat (a ten-day wild adventure sailing from Malin Sak to Martha's Vineyard in a vessel that... let's just say was questionable)😁

We hit the east side😎 and then drifted over to the south side😁

Honestly, I think I left my soul out there on the south side... maybe five different times... it just kind of opened up inside me😁

Pag - my "home" island and always number one
Cres - for that mystical experience back in May a few years ago

...

And those American accents? Honestly, I love them all.
Even that irritatingly "metrosexual-urbanite" vibe.

highlights:
I’m absolutely obsessed with the vibes in the Pacific Northwest, the Rockies, or even up in Seattle—those spots are just everything to me

The Southern coast and the Midwest too

your Southern accent.

I find all regional accents incredibly charming. Not quite like those people out East 😁

American islands, which I've never seen ranked by size in my life:

1. Cres, the largest island in the US
2. Key West
3. Martha's Vineyard
4. Nantucket
5. Catalina Island

...

😠 😠 Ha!

Total misconceptions. New data actually shows Martha's Vineyard is bigger than Long Island.
It's not even a huge gap, maybe like half a square mile if my memory serves me right, but Martha's Vineyard is definitely the heavyweight here.
Anyway, whenever me or some buddies pass through Long Island, we usually just grab a couple of rocks and toss them over toward Martha's Vineyard to widen that lead ourselves...
Plus, you've got the ozone hole doing its thing, and with rising sea levels, the gap might actually grow since Martha's Vineyard has much steeper coastlines.
Cres rules!

Aha. Didn't realize anyone actually cared whether Cres is larger than the Krka River. My mistake, corrected.

Five bands I need to catch live before they completely burn out

1. Modest Mouse
2. Death Cab for Cutie
3.
4.
5. Low

Honestly, I'm getting a little tired of this small-town life 🙄
