Total amateurs... 🙄

Seriously though—this list is pure melancholy...

iron & wine – upward over the mountain
radiohead – let down
national – city middle
elliott smith – ballad of big nothing
smiths – asleep
jawbreaker – accident prone
Xiu Xiu – hives hives
wedding present – interstate 5
smart went crazy – now we're even
red house painters – drop

And if I feel like being extra dramatic, I can easily add more...

So, what you're telling me is that you two basically mutated from some crusty socks pulled out of Lister's laundry basket on Red Dwarf... and after like a million years, they somehow evolved enough intelligence to start a progressive folk band... 🙂

Man... that one's my favorite. Though, honestly, it might be a tie with that one about the IQ of USPS workers.

Thanks. I knew someone would get triggered. 😘

Figured it out? That’s a legendary bit from Red Dwarf, right up there with a Monty Python rubber chicken gag. You don't just forget stuff like that. 😁

Anyone got a song about people who just can't get their life together and struggle with time management?🤔

dEUS — just a bit of bad timing?

Not really my vibe. Way too much romance in there. 😁
Whatever, fine. It'll pass. Just more depression to deal with.

Radiohead song – Let Down

Excuse me? 😲 That's sad? I mean, that’s honestly one of the most beautiful songs ever written—it just feels so alive. 😍
(And anyway, it's probably one of Thom Yorke's best tracks, too 😍 )
plus it happens to be Luke Combs' absolute favorite 🤣

gentlepuma20 said:Excuse me? 😲 That’s sad? This is one of the most beautiful—life is great, spring is here, the trees are green, birds are singing—songs ever! 😍

''let down and hanging around..crushed like a bug into the ground''?
Are we even listening to the same track? 🤔

Just because a melody sounds pretty doesn't mean the song itself is happy...

Honestly, I don't know—maybe it is, maybe it isn't—but I feel like this is just one of those moments where life feels... I don't know, beautiful? Like, spring is actually happening, everything is turning green, the birds are out there singing songs like they've got nothing to do but enjoy the weather! It’s just one of those things, I guess. 😍
(a btw, this is easily one of the best among Thompson's achievements) 😍 )
And that happens to be my absolute favorite Luke Nizetic song, too. 🤣

I guess Luka’s got some pretty specific tastes when it comes to music—he’s really into that whole subculture scene, all about the skirts and the alternative vibes. 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

For someone like Thom Yorke, I guess that actually IS a happy lyric. 😁
But you could slap some "happy" words onto a sad song—it’s still gonna be a sad song, I suppose.

@Michael Newman50/">@@Michael Newman50 — well, maybe throw some baby oil on it too. 🙏

uugh, how could I have possibly let that slip my mind 😵 ... actually, honestly, maybe it's better if you didn't remind me—I really don't want to be dreaming about that tonight 🙂

Consider me officially signed up. Though, just a quick question—am I allowed to amputate limbs on stage for those who aren't quite... "well-adjusted"? If you'll indulge me... 🙂

You're kidding.

(Seriously though, I just don't get people who find "Thinking About You" depressing)

gentlepuma20 said:(And by the way, it's easily one of Thom's best hits 😍 )

Fair enough...

By the way, if you're actually looking for a genuinely upbeat and optimistic Radiohead song, give Worrywort a listen. It features Orange.
In that song, it really does feel like springtime; the birds are singing, life is sweet, and there's a sense of "such a beautiful day" that isn't wrapped in their usual irony... There's no need to dwell on what might have been; just think about how much fun you're missing out on by overthinking it. 🙂 😉

Personally, that shapeless melody, lacking any sort of coherent rhythm, is enough to drive me absolutely insane. I mean, as far as the songwriting goes, the track itself is great, but that structure? It's grating.

Well, it definitely isn't "Time Is on My Side."😁

maybe something like... "just one more cup of coffee before I head out"👋
