(I am a fanatic when it comes to Herbert's series, and I actually quite enjoy Lynch's film. I wouldn't complain about the discrepancies between the two because those books are sacred to me—I really should have watched the movie with a "pure heart" first, lol)

Damn, now I feel bad for rarely diving into Sci-Fi (I'm always afraid of being left out since I rarely pick movies just for myself, and even finding things like Blade Runner, Metropolis, or Solaris isn't exactly easy))

There is another old movie I remember watching when I was a kid. I know for a fact that I loved it, but the title escapes me. If I recall correctly, it was about a young boy who fell into some kind of hole or pit, and when he finally emerged, about ten years had passed for everyone else while only a few hours had gone by for him... something like that.

"Lifepod"—the survival capsule movie from 1993. Directed by Director Ron Silver, who also stars alongside Robert Loggia.

I caught this on NBC a few years back during some random time slot; I’d never even heard of the film before then.
Personally, I thought it was excellent.

I loved this movie as a kid, and honestly, I still love it now. I still can't believe I actually recorded over the tape it was on because of some stupid mistake.

No worries—you can find it at any local video rental shop, and some versions even come with decent bonus features.👍

Good grief!!! You can't mean Pitch Black? I don't hate Vin Diesel—even if his commentary isn't exactly brilliant—but that movie is miles away from being logical, even by sci-fi standards.
