Look, nothing in life is ever a hundred percent certain. People always say, "Well, I probably won't be that one in a million," but it actually happens. It happened to me twice before—not related to my ex—where I was basically a one-in-twenty-five-thousand kind of case. I don't really chase that feeling anymore, though. I guess I figure I probably won't be that lucky again...

Well, how do you explain women who have gone on to have 2, 5, or even 10 kids or more after an abortion then?

It’s just not true that they become sterile. If that were the case, nobody would ever do it—women who don't want more kids would just flock to clinics for the "free" sterilization.
It's one of those possible, but incredibly rare, side effects.

If you actually bothered to read the previous message, you'd see she was just saying how rare that thing is.

Sterility can be a potential outcome following an abortion.
It’s similar to how one might face infertility due to severe allergies, intense stress, certain medications, or substance abuse.
If we let ourselves succumb to panic, what's the point? It's better to just hide away in some hole and never come out again.

Why are you coming at me like that? It isn't "misinformation" if I'm just backing up what I already said was true.

Can anyone tell me if a doctor can actually detect whether a woman has had a miscarriage in her past?

An abortion doesn't actually leave scars... the cervix just dilates—that dilation phase—and then the uterine contents and that initial lining are cleared out. Honestly, that shedding of the uterine lining is basically what happens every single month during a period anyway. Since nothing is being done to the outside of the cervix, there's no way to see scarring there, and because the inside of the uterus is constantly regenerating a fresh layer of lining, you won't find any scars there either since they just don't exist.

Susan Williams10 said:I already posted this question in the women's corner where I get more emotional support, but right now I really just need the facts. I'm wondering where in Chicago I can go to get an abortion, if it can be done privately, what the actual procedure is like, and how long the recovery takes... please help.

I guess I'm not entirely sure about the specifics in Chicago... basically, you go see a gynecologist, maybe book a private consultation, and they'll ask if you intend to carry the pregnancy, then they guide you through the next steps... the how, the what, and the where... there is a cost involved$833... personally, I think it might be better to have the procedure done at a hospital rather than a private clinic, because if anything goes wrong, being in a hospital is probably safer than a small private office... you usually have to go through some kind of family counseling session, which is just one day, and then you can move forward... the gynecologist you visit for the exam will likely coordinate all of those details for you...
And I don't think there is much of a recovery period, just some rest; you'll likely be given some medication afterward, like anti-inflammatories or something to help the uterus contract back to normal.... it is done under anesthesia, so you shouldn't feel anything, and you'll probably get a local injection so everything goes numb—sort of like when you get a tooth pulled... you wake up, stay at the hospital for a few hours, and then you can head home... after about 15 days, you should see a gynecologist again just to make sure everything is okay... in the US, abortions are typically done via vacuum aspiration or D&C... your doctor will explain the specific method used... you might feel some discomfort for a few days, similar to menstrual cramps, along with light bleeding...

I truly hope you aren’t one of those types who finds casual hookups to be their primary form of entertainment...
I happen to know a girl who brags about how she’s been knocked up three times, and by the fourth
she actually ended up having to go through labor... And now, somehow, she’s back to being the "it girl" of her social circle just because she’s
only 18 and has a kid...
