Anyone know if there are still tickets left for Metallica?
Or did they already sell out completely?

Also, does anyone have any intel on who’s opening for them?
Are they bringing their usual tour support, or is it going to be some local American bands?

😕

Of course you can!

There are still tickets available. They should announce the opening act in a few days—it’ll likely be one big international name and one local band.

Caught Metallica at Rock in Rio in Lisbon last Friday.
The first time I saw them was a few years back in Chicago.
I’ll admit, I had my doubts about whether they’d lost their edge.
Good grief, they haven't. 🙂

So, if you can even "tolerate" Metallica, do yourself a favor and go see them.
It’s the kind of thing you don't get to witness every day—and I've seen plenty of shows.
I don't think there's a rock concert out there with this much intensity.
The energy, the musicianship, the vocals, the way they work the crowd...
Pure genius.

They deserve a massive 🙏

On average, how long does one of their shows actually last? Like, what's their typical set time?

I highly doubt they'll play anything less than a two-and-a-half-hour set.
It’s just not in their DNA.
If the crowd brings the energy, we might even see a few encores. 😉

It's just how they operate. It's in their DNA.
And honestly? If the crowd brings the energy, we could be looking at multiple encores. 😉

😲

Man... two and a half hours?!

That’s longer than the entire set from Iron Maiden + Murderdolls last year...

If they actually pull off a marathon like that, mad respect. 🙏 🙏

They generally perform about 18 songs at every show—most of which tend to run longer than five minutes. Usually, the whole set lasts just a bit over two hours.

EDIT:
Oh, and they might throw in maybe two solos—either on the bass or guitar—somewhere between the tracks.

Their concert back on May 15, 2004, actually clocked in at exactly 2:06:24!

I’m wondering how long this whole thing is actually gonna last—especially since Lars screwed up big time and now they’ve got Dave Lombardo, Joey from Slipknot, and Fleming, Lars' drum tech, just filling in instead
. The real question is who out of those three is even going to step up and play, because Slipknot isn't touring with them in Chicago (plus their own drummer basically covered most of the set anyway)...

and you have to ask who's actually going to play the sets, because Slipknot isn't touring with them in New York (and their drummer already ended up covering most of the songs anyway)...

Update: Apparently Lars is fine and will play the rest of the tour, but I'm not buying it... he just can't keep up with that pace anymore.😢 😢 😢

I’m seriously losing my mind here. I can't for the life of me figure out who the opening act for Metallica is. Every other day, I find myself refreshing the promoter's website just to see if there's any news. Last week, they were claiming Soulfly was the special guest... but what does that even mean? 🙂 Brilliant. It was posted right there for two days, then suddenly—poof—it was deleted. We're still a month and a half out from the show, and these guys still can't make up their minds? Seriously?👎

In Lisbon, Lars played the entire set and I didn't notice a single issue with him 😕

Which site were you looking at?
As for this indecisiveness, trust me, it's not the promoter's fault. 😢

It would be pretty legendary if they had BRMC opening for Metallica. And honestly, with how much of a showman Lenny Kravitz is, he could probably carry the whole damn concert on his own.
I really hope they don't cancel this thing. I’m not exactly in a position to eat the cost of the ticket.

After the Lisbon show, they were heading toward Donington—Lars started feeling sick on the road, so they had to detour through Germany
He's doing fine now
