I would like to use this thread to lobby the administration for the creation of a dedicated Star Wars subforum.

Why? Some might argue that giving every film franchise its own subforum is overkill.
But we are talking about just five movies. Or really, three core films (if you want to be a purist 😁), plus a few extra installments thrown in.
While the movies are the foundation, they truly represent only about 5% of the Star Wars universe. In fact, they barely scratch the surface of the galaxy.

Take a book like Tales from the Mos Eisley. It explores that wild cantina from the first film—or the fourth, depending on how you look at it.
Every single character from that massive crowd, even those who appeared for only a second on screen with no impact on the main plot, gets at least twenty pages of backstory in that book.
And that is just one title; there are surely fifty or more out there.
Books cover a much wider spectrum of events, characters, and a far greater timeline (spanning several decades) than the movies alone.

Furthermore, there are plenty of Star Wars fans right here on this forum. To be honest, there are probably no more than a few dozen of us here, but isn't that enough to justify a new subforum? Personally, I know at least ten people in my real-life social circle who are huge fans.
Mind you, I am not some hardcore fanatic hanging out with fan clubs—though I know such groups exist here in the US.

Besides, as far as I know, no other forum does this. I have been browsing the IMF for over a year and a half now, and I haven't seen anything like it. Don't you think this would attract new members? Isn't everyone welcome here?
Would a new subforum really clog up the server?

That is all for now.
Now, for a few quotes.

Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try. Master Yoda

Master Yoda Many of the truths we cling depend greatly on our own point of view 😉 😁 Obi-Wan

And finally, to sweeten the deal:
Vader: What is Thy biding, my Master?
Emperor: There is a great disturbance in the Force.
Vader: I have felt it
Emperor: We have a new enemy. Luke Skywalker Vader
Vader: Yes, my Master
Master Emperor: He could destroy us.
Vader: He's just a boy. Obi-Wan can no longer help him
Emperor: The Force is strong with him. The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi.
Vader: If he could be turned, he would be a powerful ally.
Emperor: Yes.....yes. He would be a great asset. Can it be done?
Vader: He will join us, or die, Master 😈

Master, I have been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you I was but the learner, now I am the master.

Take a book like Tales from the Mos Eisley, for instance...

And then you've got Lucas coming along with Episode 2 and basically flipping the script, completely rewriting or ignoring half the stuff established in the books—like Bob Fett's entire backstory, for example.

But honestly, I'm totally on board with the sentiment here. 👍

And that is exactly why I am being such a hardliner.

Most of the Bob Fett books are garbage anyway.
Star Wars was created by Lucas, not K. W. Jetter (the author of "Blade Runner 2: No, I definitely can't make any money" and "Blade Runner 3: I really have zero creative drive left in my sellout soul").

Look, I’m still all in on this.

Bottom line? You aren't getting anything out of this.

Look, I’ll admit I’m a complete hillbilly who hasn't touched a single page of those recent disasters—let alone anything about Boba Fett—but the urge to chime in was just way too strong to ignore. 😉

I’m voting for a dedicated SW subforum. This topic deserves its own space for deep dives. It isn't right to crowd out the Film or Television sections when we could just give this its own corner.

Alright, I’ve gone ahead and pinned this as a top topic while the Jedi Council handles the moderator deciding process. 😁

I'm on board, but I have one question: who exactly will be handling the moderator deciding?

Well, anyone who wants to join the team will need to tackle a pretty intense Star Wars Trivia Quiz, and honestly, whoever comes out on top gets the moderator spot.😁

Me? Hell yeah. Nothing would make me happier than ruling the SW universe. 🙂

And I’m probably one of the few people left here who actually saw SW for the first time back in '77.

Oh, and just so we're clear—I'm totally IN!
