So, is there actually any chance for our fan club to get off the ground, or are we all just talking in circles here? What do the mods think?

Check out this plan. If they won't let us, let's just flood the entire forum with threads like: How tall is an AT-AT? Who would win in a fight: Smith 😂 vs. Agent Smith 😁? Or even, how to build a lightsaber during a lunch break.

By the way, I don't blame the Imperial Fleet for Palpatine's death. It's because he basically used Mind control to run almost every major ship commander. When he died, that connection snapped, leaving the Captains 😁 completely lost, dazed, and wondering, "Where am I? What's going on? And where's my beer?" 😕 Then the damn REBELS 😠 finished them off. 😢

...I feel like we're just spinning our wheels...but seriously...why wouldn't we??...If we don't get the FC, this thread can always be our little stronghold to prove we exist and remind them we're here (just like the Sith 😁)...

...honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if those exact topics end up on the (maybe one day!) SWFC...

...Long live and prosper...uh...May the Force be with us...😁

but I have some bad news: nothing from the SW subforum!!
It’s too little to justify opening its own subforum, and one single sci-fi genre subforum would be emptied by this movie alone. There's no point in opening one..
At least that's what the elders say 😢

The questions weren't difficult. And yeah, Nass, even I think Luke looks best in Episode V. When I rewatched Star Wars during puberty, I was obsessed; I actually carried his picture in my wallet 😁😁

And obviously, there were more candidates planned, but I meant those who made the first cut before they ultimately decided on Hayden
That was—Josh Hartnett... back then

They even made a storyboard with him, though I don't know why they passed
IMHO he would have been better 😍

The leadership is acting like they're completely lost in the Kurtz mindset.
They'd probably end up gutting the film subforum entirely. 😂
It’s honestly pretty devastating 😱 when you think about how much it hurts to see a dedicated film section emptied out.
Just typical Bananerosi behavior.👎

Man, those thread ideas belong in the car enthusiast, sports, or home improvement sections. 😁

We could just keep going though, right? Like moving on to
Movies: 1. How does Darth Vader pull off those moves?
USA: 2. Is Obi-Wan gay?
Politics: 3. How did Palpatine manage to win over the Senate?
Beauty: 4. Where can I find Amidalin make up?

😁

Keep 'em coming.

It seems like there’s never been an official SW subforum. I suppose that’s why we all just end up messing around here instead.
I think I'll send a direct message to Anderlon right now to see what his take is on the matter.

So, what’s the verdict? Are we actually gonna have an SW forum here? Like, what’s the move if we want to make it happen?

---I don't see how the SW subforum would even work. It’d probably just end up being part of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section... if we ever actually get one set up...🙂

Anderlon hasn't replied to my message, even though I laid everything out for him quite clearly.
Honestly, I don't understand why they find it so difficult to just open a new sub-forum.
The idea that this would distract people from the movie is nonsense. It feels like a pretty weak excuse if you ask me.
As if someone who usually comes for the movies would suddenly stop showing up just because they're interested in SW.
They don't seem to realize this could actually drive more traffic to the movie section. There are definitely people who skip the movies but would show up for SW, and then might just stick around for the movies while they're already here.

I just don't get it. That's all there is to it. We're just regular forum users, and nobody really cares about us. If a moderator or even God Admin decided it would be cool to have a sub-forum dedicated to electric water heaters, they’d probably have it up and running in 3.56 seconds. 👎

I’ve already made my stance pretty clear regarding the whole decision about the Lucasfilm subforum—not that I consider myself some massive expert on the series or anything—but I’m genuinely struggling to wrap my head around one thing: is someone actually trying to stifle discussions about Star Wars now? Or is the implication that these conversations can only happen within their own dedicated little corner of the site?
And honestly, what kind of logic are we supposed to use moving forward when deciding whether to open a new subforum? Is it going to be based on the genre, the sheer number of fans, the specific subject matter, or just how much hype it generates?!
If we start going down this road, aren't we just inviting a massive flood of demands for separate movie-specific subforums later on?🤔

Look, so many new subforums have popped up since I joined the IMF that I didn't even notice any kind of "flood."
What would even constitute a flood regarding Lucasfilm?
The criteria should be based on how much there is to discuss; the subject matter is incredibly vast. It’s definitely broader than any other film franchise, and quite possibly even broader than Star Trek.
No one is stopping anyone from discussing it here, but honestly, it feels a bit silly to dive into niche details in front of such a broad audience—especially since a good portion of people here don't care for Lucasfilm or find it irrelevant to their lives. We shouldn't be debating things that are only deeply 🙏 and interesting to the core fanbase.
If I started making threads for every single movie detail:
How tall are they, and how many people could actually fit inside an AT-AT?
What are your thoughts on the Rancor?
Would you accept Vader's offer if you were in Luke's position?
The best quotes from Lucasfilm.
Which alien race is the wildest?
Who would win in a fight: Stormtroopers or Ice Troopers? And so on.
Kuiil?

I agree, though maybe that’s exactly what they ought to do.

Paramount waited six months after the first Star Trek thread appeared before acting. Once people started debating who made the better captain or spinning off into Voyager discussions, they finally opened a dedicated subforum. It took off immediately—which is a shame, because Star Trek probably would have just stayed buried on television.

Maybe it's time to start a revolution. 😈

Perhaps they should.
But I just can't wrap my head around all this "bureaucracy" and how long the process is supposed to be for opening a subforum.
It’s like we're applying for a building permit in Chicago.
I'm no tech expert when it comes to how this site works, but I'd bet anything that setting up a new subforum shouldn't take more than ten minutes.

..as far as I'm concerned, all that matters is keeping the big shots happy and having some solid lobbyists on our side...

The lobbying efforts seem to have paid off somewhat. I won't get ahead of myself, though, because I don't want to jinx anything 😁. It looks like we might actually make the cut, just not in a movie—but I'll save those details for later.
Keep your fingers crossed.
