Resident Evil: Apocalypse

As a massive Resident Evil fan, I am seriously counting down the days until the sequel hits theaters! I gotta be honest though—the first movie was kind of a letdown, mostly because we didn't get to see Jill Valentine... but man, they really made up for it in Resident Evil 2, and I'm crossing my fingers that this next one is going to be absolutely epic!😁

I was honestly so let down by that movie. It didn't live up to the hype at all, and personally, I felt like it was missing all the action that made the first one so good.

I know this thread might already exist somewhere—I just couldn't find it!—but what are you guys thinking about the new movie? It’s dropping on December 9th and I am seriously losing my mind waiting!!!!

Unfortunately, they’ve pushed back the grand opening here in the States until the very end of the year (December 30, 2004)

Honestly, both 1 and 2 were pretty much nothing to me. The only saving grace is Milla—she’s just... wow.😁
But hey, I knew exactly what kind of movie I was getting into, so at least I wasn't caught off guard by how bad it was.

Watched it... honestly disappointed to see that the third installment isn't essential.😢

I finally sat down to watch Resident Evil 2. To be honest, it left me feeling a bit let down compared to the original film, though I can't say the ninety-odd minutes were a waste of time.

The positives: the action sequences, Milla Jovovich, Jill Valentine and her outfit, Nemesis, the special effects, and once again, that unexpected ending.

The negatives: the direction, the script, L. J., that ridiculous and unfunny pimp character, the journalist Terri, and a complete lack of actual horror elements.

The only thing that really bugs me is how they just left the story hanging. I honestly doubt we'll ever see any more sequels.

Man, if it's that bad, I clearly made the right call by posting my thoughts on Resident Evil over on my blog. It sounds like the sequel is either complete garbage or just incredibly boring. Not that I'm surprised, though.

I just caught this movie, and man, it’s a blast. Between the killer special effects, the high-octane action sequences, and a plot that actually keeps you hooked, it’s easily one of the best things I've seen since the start of 2005. It's definitely setting the bar high for what looks like going to be an incredible year for cinema...

Richard Hernandez13, I think this might actually be the fifth thread about Resident Evil 2 that someone has started on this subforum already.

Is it really true that there are people out there who actually sit down and watch those movies?

The first one was actually pretty decent, mostly just because I was stoked to finally see a zombie flick again after forever. But man, the second one? Total garbage—I actually drifted off three different times while watching it.

Hmm... for instance, I found the games to be excellent, so I was genuinely curious to see how that universe would translate to the big screen. If the films hadn't been branded as "Resident Evil," I'm honestly not sure they would have appealed to me nearly as much.

The sequel... not quite on the same level. Though, as I previously mentioned, those 90 minutes didn't feel like a waste of time—especially since both Nemesis and Jill Valentine were fully realized.
