Hey everyone!
So, like, a few years back I watched Resident Evil: Apocalypse... and honestly, everything was awesome, except for this one song that just kept playing through almost the entire movie... and now I’m stuck in that most helpless situation ever, where I'm scouring the web for this track but I can't figure out the title, who wrote it, or where I can even download it...
...so, if any of you guys here feel like helping a girl out of a crisis, could you maybe try to dig up some details about this song? Even just a little bit would be huge...😢

I'm attaching a YouTube video so you can check out the clip... btw, the song I'm talking about is playing throughout the whole thing.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=yG6iHVskizM&feature=related

Thanks so much in advance!

*best wishes, hugs and kisses*

Neither the original nor this sequel even come close to being worth a damn...

It plays almost constantly throughout the movie... and now I’ve hit that incredibly frustrating wall where I'm scouring the internet for this track, but I can't find the title, the artist, or anywhere to actually download it.
...so I am politely asking all you forum members who might be willing to help a girl out of a jam, if you could please try to dig up any details regarding this song.😢

From what I recall, that music was composed specifically for the film; I don't think it appears on any official soundtrack (I have the "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" soundtrack, but those tracks aren't on there).

Let me correct you there. It’s not just that the sequels suck; it's that the entire movie franchise fails to live up to the games.

So Resident Evil: Apocalypse is basically a sequel 🙄
Besides, what does your "brilliant" take even have to do with the question being asked? 😕

...ugh, tell me about it. I tried hunting for it online too—just kept getting hit with all these random soundtracks... so I tried copying stuff over to YouTube, but I still couldn't find it. I eventually just figured it wasn't on the RE disc...😢

Anyway, that doesn't really change things—this song just doesn't seem to exist anywhere...😉

It’s not even really about the game itself—I mean, look—if I were in Capcom's shoes, I probably would have just walked away from the deal with those filmmakers altogether. It feels like the movie actually tanked the game's sales... Hehe... That's what happens when you try to make a film based on an IP but they don't actually share anything in common, right?

If you want to know anything else about the film, just ask...

The Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3 PC games are absolute masterpieces,
but the Resident Evil movies? Usually just straight garbage.
None of them actually stick to the plot or the source material. In the second film, everything is such a mess that it’s clear Anderson has the IQ of a lukewarm soda; he bragged about how he was incorporating everything from the games and the scripts, but clearly, he didn't have a clue what he was doing. As for the third part, it’s a train wreck piled on top of another train wreck—pure trash.
I watched it three months ago.

A plot, a book, and a script aren't the same thing. How do you expect someone to make a movie if they don't follow the script? 😕
What exactly do you think a "script" is? You ever actually read one?

What exactly do you think constitutes a "scenario"? Have you ever actually sat down and read a single script in your life?

I’ve been digging through Romero's original script for Resident Evil—back before Anderson took over and essentially kicked it to the curb. The gap between what Romero envisioned and what Anderson actually put on screen is... well, it's massive.

Pay some idiot to write the script, then fire them the second they try to have an actual vision. It doesn’t matter if they happen to be one of the greatest directors out there with the most visceral, stomach-turning special effects; apparently, the rule is that I am the law. I’m just Anderson, right? Just some guy who managed to scrape together one mediocre flick that everyone watched—you know, like that Mortal Kombat movie everyone saw. Blah, blah, blah...

There isn't much of a difference between them, really, except for one glaring issue: the movie should have leaned harder into the horror elements. I mean, what kind of "expert" are you supposed to be if you're going to deliver a sanitized version and rewrite the entire script halfway through?
Romero's script didn't actually stray that far from the core plot and dialogue of the game; the narrative beats remained pretty much intact. Plus, since Romero was also responsible for the special effects, the movie was always going to lean more toward an action-heavy thriller rated PG-13 rather than a pure, gut-wrenching horror flick.
Anderson is smart, sure, but he’s also an idiot. He let the studio take over because he wanted to commercialize the movie and make it palatable for a younger crowd. He basically took someone else's script—which is obvious when you compare his version to Romero's—and censored everything. He turned the whole thing into a generic action flick, and then he completely nuked the franchise with the sequel. In that one, the characters are such a mess they don't even belong in the story, and don't even get me started on that fake scene where Nemesis "senses" something... Long story short, the guy is a terrible director.
You really have to be a genius to let go of experts and people who actually know more about a subject than you do.
Even with Romero's latest film, I wasn't exactly blown away. Honestly, if he had just taken that same script from the Resident Evil movie and simply swapped out the characters and names, the film would have easily pulled a 4 out of 5 from me.
Here’s my take on Anderson and any director who decides to tackle a video game adaptation by just skimming the surface and assuming it’s all about the explosions. It’s pretty obvious that even if they actually played the game, nobody bothered to pick up a single note or read a single report scattered throughout the levels to understand the actual context. But hey, why bother with depth when you can just grab a walkthrough and call it a day?

So, if Anderson rewrote the script himself, you can't really claim the movie wasn't based on a screenplay. 😉
The fact that Anderson is a total hack who can't actually finish a single decent movie or script... yeah, we can all agree on that part. 🙂

"Pay a fool to write the script, then fire the fool if they want to do things our way; it doesn't matter that he's one of the best directors with the best and most nauseating special effects, because I am the law. I, Anderson, am the one who just made one mediocre film—that Mortal Kombat movie everyone watched...!" blah blah blah...

Basically, there is almost no difference, except that the film should have actually been a horror movie. Why on earth do you call someone an expert if you're just going to make a censored film and rewrite the script?!
Romero's script didn't deviate that much from the original plot and dialogue of the game—meaning the actual action—and since Romero was also responsible for the special effects, the film should have been a horror intended for a 16+ rating...

While I agree that Anderson shouldn't have been writing Resident Evil films (which are my guilty pleasure regardless), Romero's script would have also infuriated most fans. Why? Chris Redfield is listed as an Indian in the script, and Jill Valentine is his lover. Barry Burton is Black. Aside from those not-so-minor changes, the script follows the story of the first game quite faithfully. And therein lies the problem: the story in Resident Evil is a silly homage to Romero's films. The dialogues in the script turned out to be a poor imitation of Romero, which is paradoxical given that Romero himself wrote the script.😲

Romero's script would've pissed off most fans too. Why? Because he turned Chris Redfield into an Indian, made Jill Valentine his love interest, and cast Barry Burton as Black. Aside from those specific changes, the script actually sticks pretty close to the first game's plot. And that's exactly where it fails. The whole story in Resident Evil is just a cheesy homage to Romero's films. The dialogue in this script ended up being a pathetic imitation of Romero's style, which is pretty ironic considering Romero himself wrote it. 😲

Sure, but at least Romero would've done a better job than Anderson.😂
