check this out—it’s hands down one of the best fan films I've stumbled upon lately. if you haven't caught it yet, you're missing out. honestly, it doesn't have a direct tie-in with The Avengers, but it captures that whole comic book and superhero vibe perfectly. plus, there's a bunch of other cool stuff going on too... 😉

Honestly, according to www.thetrailertrash.com, this movie is even worse than Blade II—and I actually trust the folks over at thetrailertrash.com.

Look, Blade II is actually a solid flick. I mean, sure, it’s definitely leaning hard into that Hollywood formula, but it's a fun, punchy action movie. If anyone’s out there looking for some deep, philosophical meaning, they're barking up the wrong tree—that's just not what this movie is for. It's there for the thrills!

Plus, based on the trailer alone, this one looks alright.
Then again, trailers can be so misleading, right? Based on the trailer for The Matrix Reloaded, you would've thought it was a masterpiece, only for it to turn out to be total garbage.

Mind you, trailers are notoriously deceptive. Based on the footage alone, one might have thought The Matrix Reloaded was a masterpiece, only to find out it was total garbage.

So, I actually caught a screening today over at Broadway around 4:00 PM.
I honestly thought the movie was pretty good...

It was entertaining enough for me... even if it didn't hit the mark every single second... but yeah, it was fun... especially those first 45 minutes.

If nothing else, the visual effects totally blew me away. The way they pulled off all that CGI and high-tech nonsense is legitimately fascinating to watch.
The craftsmanship on The Nautilus, the invisible man, and Hyde... just incredible.

A lot of it feels a bit forced or "extra," but I never found myself bored for a second.
Definitely a solid flick to check out if you have some time.

This movie is absolute garbage... I can usually enjoy a bad film if it has that certain campy charm, but this is just high-budget trash of the worst variety. I mean, was Sean Connery really that desperate for a paycheck?
Only worth a watch if you have absolutely nothing else going on...

I watched the movie and honestly, I thought it was great. Anyway, I’m in a pretty lucky spot: I know just enough about the comics and the original books to follow the plot, but since I haven't actually *read* the graphic novels, I didn't fall into that annoying trap of thinking, "Ugh, this was so much better in the books."

As for other mistakes, my tolerance is pretty high because the mere concept of a bunch of literary characters acting as superheroes in a steampunk version of Victorian United Kingdom is just too good to pass up.

As it is, the film works for me, and I’ll probably be obsessing over Fifth Wilson for a while until some other high-dexterity cinematic fighting masterpiece comes along. (Specifically, I'm talking about watching "X-Men 2" on DVD).

YESSSSSSSS!!!! Dammit! I even started talking to Icepick about it yesterday before we pivoted to discussing The Avengers!

For those not in the loop: "The Underworld" is the latest action-packed mess from Sony. It takes place in some mysterious gothic megalopolis where a secret war rages between vampires—who live like decadent members of the social elite (though nobody actually knows they exist)—and werewolves who look like some kind of street gang. Kate Beckinsale plays an elite vampire assassin who falls for the wrong guy.
The movie is a total rip-off of Vampire: The Masquerade and other White Wolf games set in the World of Darkness. Apparently, White Wolf even sued Sony over it. But honestly, that’s irrelevant! What matters is seeing Kate Beckinsale leaping from the fifth floor dressed in tight black leather and a long black trench coat! And her fighting off two gunmen! And lifting a guy off his feet by his throat with one hand! It’s just mindless action with plenty of style and absolutely no substance whatsoever!
go Kate! Who would have thought she was the same woman from "shoot a Fish" or whatever that British comedian's name was.

Ahhh, Hollywood, Hollywood! Since September 11th, you've had me retreating into escapism three times more often than before. Keep up the good work!

Ugh, I’m actually gagging at the thought of that black goat look and the trench coat. Is there seriously anyone left alive who thinks that’s stylish? It’s just so... totally last century. 🙂

Personally, I find the real special effect to be how that crowd manages to walk around without tripping over everything or knocking over furniture and vases while wearing those bulky coats.😁
