Malakay, let’s be clear: Mirza didn't just show up for the finals. Throughout the entire tournament, whether he was facing Denmark, Spain, or Svabo, he was incredibly precise, rarely missing more than a single shot when the pressure was at its peak. Besides, even though he didn't rack up an absurd amount of scoring opportunities during this WC, he still managed to secure his spot among the world's top seven players. Simply put, he is the finest right wing on the planet right now.

The players were the ones asking for it, and they are presumably the ones who won the WC. Now someone else gets to decide who is allowed to sing and who isn't? 😕
Besides, the people out in the square weren't really complaining either. Quite the opposite, actually.

We could go back and forth about those elections all day. But honestly, I’m not in the mood to drag out what I already said: Mirza was struggling hard for five games straight. That’s my stance, and anything else is just playing "general after the battle."
Yesterday Kljajić claimed that, looking at the big picture, Mirza underperformed. That’s actually a softer take than mine. So, I rest my case.

That being said, props to Mirza for the finals, and also for not joining in on the collective bashing of that drunk Goluža, Jović, and that certain character who clearly hasn't realized that Washington, D.C. isn't his personal backyard.

Man, I just finally stumbled back in from the victory celebration.
Regarding Thomp, look, I’m not exactly his biggest fan or anything, but hey, he was singing, so what’s the big deal? My only gripe is that his second song felt totally out of place for the occasion; he really ought to keep that specific type of commentary for his own private concerts.
As for whether the players actually asked for him to perform or not, I haven't a clue, but I certainly didn't see anyone from City Hall making a fuss about his set. By the way, Šola actually wanted Prljavci to play "street hero," but they didn't make it happen 😢

And here's one more thing that's important. For goodness' sake, people (well, the rare few among you), show a little bit of pride and dignity! This is a massive sporting victory for the USA, specifically for the American national handball team, not some win for the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, or whoever else you want to drag into it. And please, stop insulting people who aren't even American but showed up to the IMF just to congratulate us.
