For those who aren't in the loop, this is basically David Eugene Edwards' side project from 16 Horsepower. From what I gather, they've got one album out on Glitterhouse—it’s actually pretty solid, honestly, and feels a lot like 16 HP.

Beck, April 14th and 15th, CALEXICO. Going to see them for the second time. I don't doubt for a second that they're gonna be legendary.

Man, if only the crew over at KSET could pull Oldham back to the States again...

I wasn't at the show—which is my own damn fault, honestly—but from what I've heard from people who were there, they actually seemed pretty stoked.

It’s my own fault for expecting him to sound anything like the Palace Brothers tonight—the reality is he’s touring with session players rather than a cohesive band. That just proves he’s better in the studio; live shows don't leave room for those layered production touches. I know people had a blast, but honestly, I've seen much better Americana shows over the last few years... take Grandfalloon Bus, who are coming back through in June, or Nina Nastasia for that matter.
