Let's not play innocent here. The real issue is which half of this group actually deserved the ban. If the women in this thread had a track record of posting garbage worthy of a permanent ban, this topic would still be live and they'd all just be grayed out.🙂

The topic was honestly pretty fascinating, and I was actually kind of caught off guard when it got locked. 👎 Either it should have been moderated from the jump, or they just should have let the debate play out.

But even beyond this, I’ve always found the rules and how the mods handle things over in the Women's Corner to be a bit strange. It’s not rare to see someone get sent a private message, or for people to be called complete idiots—even having new users pushed away from a thread—all without a moderator stepping in. (And by the way, this happens even with some of the folks who get labeled as fascists during those heated debates about immigration. 😁 )

Look, I know you're flying solo right now, but being the only moderator on duty doesn't excuse how you're handling things.

The gossip thread belongs to certain users who, from what I can see, are still getting by just fine.
It actually matters to me when people on my main boards start calling me a fascist or total trash. And I'm not talking about those random trolls who swoop in, spit on everyone, and leave in a fit of self-righteous rage.
What bugs me even more is seeing how fascist rhetoric and "motherf***er" insults—and everything else that comes with that package—get a free pass.
How long ago was that post reported? 4 hours?
The post is still sitting there without a warning, and nobody has been banned.

You aren't following the rules of the site you work for. You're just protecting one of your fellow mods. Instead of actually moderating a heated topic, you just swoop in and lock the whole thing down so nobody ends up getting banned.
And you're doing it by nitpicking tiny details. To put it in the language of the people who throw the word "fascist" around so easily—yet you don't react to actual fascism—honestly, aren't you embarrassed?

The fallout went both ways—everyone was getting called out. It wasn't just about people swooping in without contributing anything useful to the debate and then throwing a tantrum when they didn't get their way.

On the flip side, there was a systematic, repeated violation of rule 6, specifically that second half of the policy.

I stand by my actions—and everything else I’ve said here. Everyone seems to have lost their moral compass. You either want flimsy rules and loose moderation on the Forum, or you demand trust and then immediately fail to maintain a decent level of discourse.

There are higher authorities on this Forum than me—they can certainly reopen this thread if they decide I'm actually the one in the wrong.

Well, those have been the "jungle rules" of the Women's Corner for a long time now... 🙂

The way the rules are set up isn't exactly an accident, either. A specific little group gathered there—the "progressive" crowd, you know?—to talk about all sorts of social issues. They could have easily just hung out in the Politics section like everyone else, but apparently, they're so "advanced" that even the left-leaning moderation team over in Politics wasn't quite enough for them... so they found themselves a cozy little sanctuary instead.

Everything was running smoothly for the longest time, with them just patting themselves on the back, praising how enlightened and smart they all are... while basically kicking anyone "backward" or "Catholic zealot" out of the fold if they accidentally wandered too close to the edge.

That is, until now. This latest crisis has been so intense that some of those "progressives" are finally starting to see things clearly... and now, suddenly, they're being tossed aside just like the people they used to look down on.

I guess revolution really does eat its own children... 🙂
