Indiana Jones (2017)

Warner Bros. Pictures just dropped the news about the movie adaptation for the massive Rockstar Games hit series, Indiana Jones. This Action Adventure flick is set to hit theaters on June 30, 2017.
I honestly think fans of Indiana Jones or Lara Croft Tomb Raider are going to be pretty stoked about this one.
Aside from the release date, we're still flying blind. There aren't many details yet, and we don't even know who's going to be sitting in the director's chair.

Honestly, this news doesn't come as much of a shock to anyone—given that Uncharted was easily one of the most iconic titles on the PS3 era.
From what I'm gathering, it looks like the movie will follow a script based on the first installment of the series.
Since the quality of the Uncharted franchise is so consistently high, my expectations for this film are incredibly high—really quite significant, actually.

This could potentially serve as the next Indiana Jones, though I suppose anyone who has ever picked up a controller would tell you that. Whether they can actually pull off that level of magic on the big screen is a much more difficult question to answer. If they happen to hire someone who actually understands the source material, it might just turn out to be a fantastic film.

It looks like we might finally be seeing *The Last of Us* get the big-screen treatment, much like how *Uncharted* made the jump to cinema.

They used to be just like Resident Evil, Hitman, Max Payne, or Lara Croft...

It’s a shame this wasn't adapted back when Dolph Lundgren was still in his prime. He would have been the perfect choice for that role.

Maybe Metal Gear Solid belongs on this list too. It’s a series with one of the most moving stories out there—there's so much dialogue that you could practically hand-pick only the best lines to build an entire screenplay.

Nah, you aren't tripping. It’s just some fan-made poster—nothing to do with the actual movie...

You could always just edit the post and take the poster down.
It was set up so it wouldn't look empty without some kind of cover art.

I don't know, I've just got a bad feeling about this one. It seems like such a tough game to adapt, even if the core story is actually pretty straightforward.
I guess I'm putting more of my hopes into The Last of Us.

I caught the trailer for this at the local theater yesterday and, honestly? It looked pretty decent—well, aside from the tiny little detail that Tom Holland is a total miss for the role of Drake.

They basically cast that eternal boy wonder because they’re banking on a long-running franchise. But honestly? I don't see it. There's just no way Uncharted has enough staying power with audiences to spawn more than maybe two or three movies. I guess if we were living in that pre-pandemic era before the whole movie industry took a massive hit, maybe things would be different, but now? Not a chance.

If they had just made two solid Uncharted films starring Nathan, they probably could have actually delivered something decent. It definitely would've been better than this mess.

Shipwrecks that haven't even rotted away after 400 years out in the open—unbelievable! They’ve got helicopters lifting entire vessels right off the seabed! What they forgot—obviously—was throwing in > just to complete the whole ridiculous spectacle. 🤣

Trying to find any sense of realism in a movie based on a video game that's basically built on pure nonsense 🙏 🙏 🙏

It actually wasn't half bad—kind of felt like a fresh take on an Indiana Jones style franchise.
It’s just such a shame they went overboard with all that vague, muddy nonsense... Honestly, this part was pretty useless.

A fun little adventure flick—Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland make for a pretty solid duo here.
