I have been longing for something along these lines. 🎉
It is unlikely to be any good.

I just finished watching the film. It doesn't offer much in terms of originality, I suppose; it’s essentially the standard survivalist trope where characters crash-land on an unknown planet and have to fight their way back home. It feels somewhat reminiscent of After Earth, though in this instance, we are dealing with Earth in a much more ancient era. That being said, I guess the movie isn't necessarily bad if you're looking for something to pass the time.

I’m leaning towards the idea that these aren't actually human beings at all. Honestly, they're getting a few lower marks from me simply because they lack any real imagination...

I mean, how are you even supposed to design what an alien humanoid looks like anyway? There’s a good chance they’re basically just built like us at an atomic level. It was probably shot this way to keep the production budget from spiraling, and honestly, I think it would've been pretty trash if some little green guys were running around rocking dinosaurs. Props to the creators though, I find the concept pretty imaginative and cool. 6/10

The concept is solid. It’s basically a mashup of The Last of Us, Predator, and Jurassic World. 🍿

This feels like one of those total B-movies I used to rent from Blockbuster when I was a kid.

I honestly think that lame title killed its chances at the box office.

It’s fine enough for someone looking to switch off their brain for ninety minutes, I suppose. Personally, I found the first half much more engaging, where the tension relied on the fear of the unknown rather than constant movement. It feels as though they might have benefited from leaning into that atmosphere and focusing on the chemistry between the leads, rather than pivoting toward that predictable, loud action spectacle at the end.

It could have been better, honestly—but it wasn't bad either. If nothing else, it’s a step up from all those other Jurassic World movies.

I haven't seen it yet, but I guess I should ask... do you actually count the parks as part of the Jurassic World franchise, or not?

A guy with a gun, a moody kid, and some dinosaurs.
The whole "man travels across a wasteland protecting a young girl" trope is ancient—like, prehistoric—but here, it’s just executed in such a dull, clumsy way.
The entire movie is basically them walking from Point A to Point B, getting ambushed by some creature along the way.
Then they either shoot it or run away, and they just keep moving.
New animal shows up... rinse and repeat... and that's the whole thing until the credits roll.

We've been staring at CGI dinosaurs since the mid-90s.
At this point, the novelty of seeing a big lizard on screen has completely evaporated.
You actually need to bring something more to the table than just digital scales.

And honestly? Don't waste your breath on that Gen Z version of The Last of Us.
It's a total non-starter—just a complete waste of time.

Honestly, this movie was pretty bad. I only made it through about 40 minutes before giving up... just felt really boring and like something I'd seen a million times before.

I feel like this was a missed opportunity. On paper, the concept is great, but the execution just falls short. Here are my raw thoughts:

+ Adam Driver. He basically carries the entire movie on his back. If anyone else had been cast, the film would have been a much lower tier for me.
- The logic surrounding the actual incident itself is completely broken.
+ The look and design of the ship.
+ The UI and display interfaces.
- Why did the captain have to sleep at that exact moment? And why isn't there a second captain on duty to rotate shifts? I guess when the ship reached the Solar System, they woke him up to land the craft on the planet, but still... it felt sloppy.
- The dinosaurs are poorly done; it looks like watching actors walking through a glitchy video game.
- How does a traveling crew not share a universal language? Seriously? Who wrote this script? Scott Beck's kids?
+ That asteroid impact sequence—wow.
- The plot gets repetitive. I agree with what nimblemarlin6 said earlier.
- This is starting to become a "Prometheus" problem: why do colonists on an alien world always take off their damn masks the second the air is breathable? And then nothing happens later, except for the captain's wound getting infected.
+ Some of the action segments were solid.

All in all, if you ignore the lack of logic and just view it as mindless entertainment, it’s passable. But the enjoyment fades once you start questioning how things actually work.

It hit the torrents pretty fast, so it’s clearly not nothing—but I guess I'll give it a shot anyway...

He probably ended up on torrent sites simply because it’s available on all those major streaming services now.

Anyway, I watched it once—actually, I passed out halfway through... the movie is basically half The Road and half Jurassic Park.

Seriously though, if you haven't seen The Road, you should probably watch that instead of this one.

I’m giving this a solid 7/10, primarily thanks to the Driver. He delivered a truly professional performance. Bravo!

Just a quick heads-up—not to spoil anything—but man, that crash landing happened at the absolute perfect moment, in the exact right spot, leading up to that last-second escape.
Seriously, when will these screenwriters finally quit the cocaine? This level of predictability is getting ridiculous.
Those final ten minutes were 🤦.
