QUESTION: I keep running into these persistent air bubbles in my Ozempic. Once, I managed to deal with it by just squirting a little bit of the medication out when it reached the top of the syringe, but that feels like such a waste of money—plus, I'm looking at another bubble today. 😵

Don't worry about injecting it into a vein; I really don't think you have anything to be concerned about. It happened to me twice, and I just injected myself like normal.

Maria Reed44 said:Is anyone else on Ozempic 3.0 right now? How's the appetite? I'm starting my 3.0 dose tomorrow and I'm low-key terrified I'll still be starving all the time. So far, I've lost about 11 pounds in 7 weeks, which isn't bad, but hey, progress is progress!

Hey there! I’ve actually been on 3.0 for a little while now. For me, the side effects usually only pop up right after I bump up the dose—you know, just for a day or two, maybe three. It's mostly just some nausea.

Since I couldn't get my hands on Ozempic for a bit, I was using Victoza, but since those pens don't go up to 3, I had to mix doses like 1.8 and 1.2 to make it work. Now that I'm back on Ozempic, things feel totally different! I've been dropping weight super fast lately. Maybe I should have restarted at the beginning, but I just kept pushing through at 3, and honestly, the weight loss is just flying off now. From late January until today, I’ve lost 37 pounds total, and I am absolutely loving it! I still get hungry sometimes, but it's never like I'm actually dying of hunger. Plus, I'm staying mindful of what I eat and hitting the gym.

If the dose feels like too much, have you thought about dialing it back just a tiny bit? Not all the way down to 2.4, but maybe like 2.4 plus a few extra clicks, which I know some people here do.

As for those air bubbles, from what I can tell, it shouldn't really matter since we aren't injecting into a vein anyway, so it shouldn't be an issue (full disclaimer: I'm definitely not a doctor or a nurse or anything like that)!

Huge congrats on dropping 17 lbs—that is seriously impressive! You earned every bit of it. I saw someone else mention how her sister dropped a massive amount of weight almost overnight after just three months; it seems like there might be some kind of pattern to how this works!

What’s the actual big difference between Victoza and Ozempic? Is it just a matter of different manufacturers?

I’m heading out tomorrow to pick up my referral for an endocrinologist. Seeing all of your results lately has given me such a huge boost of motivation. I’m fully ready to dial in my diet and get moving with some exercise, too.

Thanks! Yeah, maybe that’s the deal then, who knows?

Both Victoza and Ozempic are made by Novo Nordisk and they both use liraglutide. It’s just that Ozempic doses can go up to 3mg while Victoza only hits 1.8mg.

I finally grabbed some more Ozempic, so fingers crossed this shortage is finally over!

Honestly, I'm not sure if there are any other big differences between them.

WOOOW, amazing!! After just two weeks, I'm already down 4 pounds! I honestly can't even describe the feeling I had this morning when I stepped on the scale. I'm heading to my endocrinologist tomorrow to figure out our next move.
I just hope we all keep moving forward together—on the scale and in everything else, making sure things keep getting better!🙂

I’ve got an appointment with my endocrinologist in ten days, so we’ll see what happens. I keep falling back into that trap of thinking, "Oh, I don't really need this," but I am living proof that I absolutely do. Should I even be dreaming about losing this extra weight, or is it just going to get harder as I get older? Honestly, I can't wait for this appointment just to get the conversation moving and see where things land.

Can anyone who has tried Metformin compare it to the effects and side effects of Ozempic? Aside from the fact that Ozempic is way more expensive 🙂, it feels much more effective to me.

Has anyone actually seen real results using just the pills?

6.4. 122.4
13.4 121.6
20.4. 120.6

Slow progress... but fine.

Got hit with a massive headache and total exhaustion yesterday. I usually struggle with fatigue—probably an iron deficiency issue—but I had two IV iron infusions about six months ago, which helped. Now I can't tell if this is just the Wegovy acting up or my iron levels tanking again.

My biggest hurdle is stress eating. I thought I’d be fine this week since I’m on vacation, but my coworker calls me every single day because she doesn't know how to do her job. It drives me insane. I tell her to stop calling, then I end up eating out of frustration. And I can't even turn off my phone because of the kids. Wegovy isn't going to fix that; I have to deal with that mess internally.

Noom is actually great, though. I haven't fully dove in yet, but I just got assigned a 1:1 coach. I'm liking the daily food lessons so far.

I honestly think you just need to give it some time. I know all too well how stress and food can become a toxic duo. There were so many times where, the second I hung up the phone after a stressful call, I’d find myself mindlessly heading straight for the fridge.

But once I actually managed to stick to 3 or 4 planned meals a day—meals that were already prepped or at least healthy—that urge really faded. For me, organization and meal prepping were the absolute game changangers! Once I had a plan, if I did end up raiding the fridge, I’d just grab a carrot, an apple, or some salad and call it a day:-)

The other thing is not letting anyone—whether it's a coworker, your kids, or anyone else—get under your skin. You can handle anything if you decide to. Keeping that mental boundary really helped me pull myself together.

For example, last night a friend of mine was spiraling and started blowing up my phone with questions on iMessage at 10 PM. I was still awake and totally could have replied, but I realized I’d just be getting sucked into her drama, and there was no way I’d be able to sleep with all that frantic energy flying around. So, what did I do? I chose my own health. I stayed in my peaceful bubble, got my sleep, and didn't reply until I finished work today. By then, she had already calmed down.

You have to start looking out for yourself the same way everyone else looks out for their own interests. That friend was only thinking about how to dump her frustration onto me; she didn't care that it was late or if I was sleeping. She was being selfish. Well, this time, I wasn't going to let someone else's ego get in the way of my peace and a good night's rest.

You feel me? There are definitely things you can control for your own sake. Airplane mode? Set it so only your kids' numbers can get through to you. Stuff like that.

Personally, I’ve turned off all my notifications. I check my email when it suits *me*, rather than letting my phone drive me crazy with constant pings.

I saw Noom listed as an option, but honestly, I’m mostly interested in the support system—the community and having a coach. Let me know how much of that one-on-one interaction actually happens. I have a feeling you'll just be chatting with a chatbot instead.🙂

Personally, I’m even considering starting out with some Ozempic, though I’ll wait to see what my endocrinologist recommends first. It's like the old saying: why drive a beat-up old sedan when you could be behind the wheel of a Mercedes? I think I might even have a bit of fear of success; if I actually manage to lose the weight, I might just panic immediately.🙂 No more excuses for failing! :-)

I’m actually having the exact opposite experience; ever since I started on Ozempic, my energy levels have been through the roof. Even those nagging headaches finally cleared up after just a few days. Personally, now that I’ve hit the 1.8 mg dose, I don't even feel the urge to eat, especially if I try to have anything in the evening—it just makes me feel nauseous. I’ve managed to drop 4 pounds so far, but honestly, that’s barely a dent in the grand scheme of things.

Hi there,
how long were you on Ozempic? Did you start at the 0.6 level? Since I'm already at the 3.0 Wegovy dose, I'm feeling a bit lost on the smartest way to proceed. Should I jump straight into the 1.8 plus 1.2 combo? What was the advice your doctor gave you?
Thanks so much!

Thanks a million!

Hey! So, I was probably only on it for about a week—just used up one single pen. I jumped right into the 1.2+1.8 combo, and then as soon as I got my hands on the Ozempic, I switched right back over to that! Honestly, it felt like a breeze since I didn't deal with any side effects at all.

Gorge, you're doing pretty well! How are you feeling? Are you feeling optimistic about everything, or do you still have those moments of doubt? I'm also curious if you've noticed any shifts in your mood. What would you say is your biggest hurdle in this whole process?

Looking back through your posts, you seem really disciplined, which is awesome.

What’s your take on the medication now? Do you think you could manage without it, or do you feel like it's a necessary tool for long-term success?

I finally landed a second appointment with my endocrinologist, so we'll see how it goes. I was given an A-level referral for the initial visit, though I'm a little worried they might not be able to run certain tests because I don't have a D-level referral yet. But hey, whatever—I just want to get the ball rolling...

You mentioned protein powder before—which one was it? Was it that Yosemite brand in the cup? I saw some soy options at Target recently and gave them a try; they actually tasted pretty good...

Amy Kim25 said:Hey Megan Anderson5, you are absolutely crushing this! How are you actually feeling deep down? Are you feeling super pumped about everything, or are you still having those "is this really happening?" moments on certain days? I'm also dying to know if your mood has been riding a rollercoaster at all—like, what’s been the biggest hurdle or the toughest part of this whole journey for you?

I was just scrolling back through everything you've posted, and honestly, your discipline is totally next level—it's seriously impressive!

So, what’s your take on the medication these days? Like, do you honestly feel like you could crush your goals without it, or is it basically the secret sauce you absolutely need to stay on track for the long haul?

I finally scored my second appointment with the endocrinologist, so fingers crossed we actually get somewhere! I did end up getting an A1 referral for this first visit, though I’m low-key stressing that they might hit me with some red tape regarding certain tests since I don't have a D1 yet—it feels like trying to drive a Ferrari with a learner's permit or something—but honestly, whatever happens, I just need to get the ball rolling!

Hey! You were talking about that protein pudding earlier—which one was it exactly? Was it that one from Lascaux in the little cups? I actually spotted some soy ones over at CVS the other day and gave them a shot, and honestly, they were pretty tasty!

Hey! So, right around the time I dropped my last post, I started dealing with some major gallbladder issues, and now I’m actually heading in for surgery next week! My endocrinologist told me to totally clear my system and take nothing at all until the procedure is done, plus about a week after that too. So, for almost two weeks now, I've been completely off both my Wegovy and Metformin.

I used to think that being constantly hungry was just some minor annoyance, you know, like a little background noise, but now that I’m off everything, it’s hitting me like a freight train how insane my appetite actually is and how much I truly rely on those meds! It's been such a rollercoaster because I've already put on about 6 pounds in just the last two weeks, so I am seriously counting down the days until this phase is over and I can finally get back to eating normally again!
I'm currently stuck on this super strict gallbladder diet where I can't touch anything greasy, but then they also basically ban almost all fruits and veggies! It’s like being told you can have the breadbasket but none of the salad, so I’ve just been absolutely crushing pasta and potatoes every single day to get by.

So, everyone keeps insisting that these meds aren't the direct culprit behind what I'm going through, but honestly, it just doesn't sit right with me! Like, those stones didn't just pop up out of thin air over the last three months—they've been building up for years, you know? Even though the doctors say they shouldn't mess with my upcoming surgery, I’m playing it super safe and skipping them for now just to be extra cautious!

Honestly, I’m feeling a little rattled mentally right now. It’s like my brain just goes into overdrive and I start overdoing everything, especially when it comes to food—I feel like I'm constantly starving even when I'm definitely not! Plus, ice cream season is officially here and let me tell you, the motivation to hit the gym is basically non-existent. 🤦 I just know some of you guys totally get where I'm coming from!

Hey! So I actually jumped on that Noom bandwagon too—I think there’s some freebie deal if you sign up through the Wegovy website (or maybe it's always free, honestly, I just stumbled onto Noom after clicking through their page). It’s been pretty chill so far, like, I feel way less like I'm constantly beating myself up, and I'm definitely processing everything much better than before. I'm totally getting back on track, and everything is gonna be just fine!

So yeah, I am officially in this for the long haul! I’m planning on riding this wave and taking whatever they'll let me have, because let’s be real—I still have a massive mountain of weight to climb before I hit what most people would call a "normal" size, so we’re probably looking at a journey that lasts a year or even longer. Right now, there is absolutely no way I could pull this off without Wegovy, but honestly, three months feels like just a blink of an eye, and maybe after ten, eighteen, or twenty-four months, things will start feeling totally different. I’m just crossing my fingers that I won't have to stay on it forever lol, otherwise I'll be totally broke before I know it!

I am totally dialed in when my life actually feels organized and I’m not constantly dealing with random, chaotic curveballs popping up out of nowhere! Since I was basically an athlete from the time I could walk until I hit 25, I’ve got that built-in discipline where pushing myself physically feels like second nature rather than a massive chore. Plus, since I don't have kids or a husband to look after, I've got zero extra responsibilities hanging over my head, and I don't have anyone else relying on me either. Working from home is such a game-changer too, especially because I live right near my parents who whip up home-cooked meals every single day, which honestly makes staying on track feel like a total breeze!

I totally get where you're coming from—life moves so fast that it feels like you can barely catch a breath, let alone carve out a massive chunk of time to actually focus on yourself and all those things you really ought to be doing for your own sake!

Hey! So I’ve just been grabbing whatever basic protein powder I can find because, honestly, I don't know the first thing about this stuff! I picked up some flavors on a site called MyProtein—I went with cookies and cream and vanilla. And get this: I even snagged some sugar-free caramel sauce too, can you actually believe that? 🤣) So I’ve been playing around with some oatmeal recipes lately.

I am absolutely obsessed with those protein puddings you get at Trader Joe's. One girl on here suggested mixing the cherry ones with some oats and it was honestly a total game changer! I highly recommend it, though if you ask me, the chocolate one is the absolute winner, even though they have a bunch of different flavors out there.

Amy Kim25, are you living in New York City too? Where do you go to see your endocrinologist?

From what I’ve gathered, when you first meet an endocrinologist, they basically just hand you a massive list of tests to run, and then you have to go back for a second appointment with all those results before they actually start you on any kind of treatment plan. On top of that, I’ve been seeing a nutritionist every six weeks for check-ins and measurements to stay on track.

Ugh, look at me writing a whole freaking novel again! I just can't seem to wrap my thoughts up concisely—I feel like I'm constantly adding more and more detail.

Anyway, good luck at your appointment! Definitely let me know how everything goes if we don't chat before then.👍

Hey,
thanks for the long reply 👍
And yeah, I totally get you—once you start overthinking something, you just end up spiraling. It’s like that old psychological trick where if someone tells you not to think about a cheesecake, all you can think about is cheesecake! That's me in a nutshell—if you tell me not to eat something, I'll end up devouring twice as much. So, I hear you!

Those stones definitely didn't just show up in three months; they likely built up over several years. It often happens from weight fluctuations, going on a keto diet, gaining it back, and so on. I'm actually prepping for gallbladder surgery myself, so where are you headed? You've certainly got a major health topic on your hands, haha

Did the pain suddenly spike, and is that why you made such a quick decision?

Personally, I think it's better not to take anything regarding obesity meds because of the risk of hypoglycemia. You don't want anything messing with your system when you're under anesthesia; that's the priority right now. Once you've recovered, you can pick things back up.

I don't quite follow what you said about potatoes and dough; I think you might have misunderstood how that gallbladder diet works. You shouldn't go heavy on fats, but chicken, fish, turkey, boiled veggies, and even boiled fruit like compote (without the skin) should be fine. Honestly, I eat pretty much everything and handle it well, though I do get hit by discomfort occasionally. I've noticed fresh white bread and greasy pastries give me trouble, but other than that... 🙂

If you load up on potatoes and carbs, it won't go well because those cause huge insulin spikes. Maybe do a little more Googling on that gallbladder diet 🙂

And come on, ice cream? You aren't seriously thinking about buying that right now, are you? That’s probably just some clearance sale for stuff that hasn't sold in a year! Don't eat that! It's best not to even start, because once you begin, it's hard to stop. Besides, that isn't even real ice cream anymore; at this point, it's basically just frozen water! Gross!

Just keep walking and staying active; you don't need to do intense workouts. If you can clear an hour of walking every day, that's plenty. Apparently, even extreme exercise isn't great, and I've noticed that it makes me so hungry that I just end up eating back all the calories. And what did I gain from that? Nothing!

Anyway, looks like our little battle and exchange of messages is going to last a while 😁😁👍

Yeah, New York City. V. Vrhovac, so we'll see.

Tomorrow is a total day off, yay!

I can hear the birds chirping through my window. It's so lovely, such a blessing

Hey, so here I am—after five months on Victoza and now switching over to Saxenda, I’ve dropped 5 pounds.
Ladies, how on earth do you force yourselves to stick to a regular meal schedule? That is easily my biggest hurdle; since I don't feel hungry, I just end up skipping meals all day long, and then—boom—everything implodes in the evening. I honestly can't stand myself sometimes, constantly letting myself down because I just can't seem to find any semblance of discipline. How did you all manage to get a handle on this?

Megan Anderson5, take it easy; obviously, surgery comes with its own set of risks, but seeing how persistent you've been so far, I really believe you'll keep moving forward at the same steady pace.
How often do you guys see an endocrinologist? I won't even have my nutrition workshop for another six months.

Hey! Huge congrats on dropping 5 pounds—that is seriously such a sweet spot to hit! Honestly, that’s pretty much exactly what I manage to lose every single month too.

As far as meal plans go, I’m probably not your best source of info because, let's be real, my appetite hasn't actually vanished, it's just sort of... dialed down? So I usually just stick to three solid meals and maybe grab a piece of fruit if I'm feeling like my usual self.

I just had my first check-up with my endocrinologist after three months, and they told me I don't need to head back in for another six to eight months, though I still see my nutritionist every six weeks without fail.

Ugh, I am seriously counting down the days until this whole process is over so I can finally get my life back to normal!

As far as meal planning goes, I’m probably not the best person to ask for advice since my appetite hasn't actually vanished; it just sort of dialed itself back. So, I usually stick to three meals a day, maybe grabbing a piece of fruit here and there if things are going normally.

Regarding my doctors, I didn't have my first follow-up with the endocrinologist until the three-month mark, and now they've got me scheduled for another check-in in about six to eight months. Meanwhile, I'm seeing the nutritionist every six weeks.

I honestly can't wait to get this surgery behind me so I can finally get my life back to normal.

Thanks for getting back to me,
And fingers crossed that the weight keeps coming off at this rate...
My big goal is to get pregnant, but let's be real, that's just not an option while I'm carrying this much extra weight, so the whole thing is incredibly stressful for me... my next big appointment isn't for another eight months.
STAYING POSITIVE 🙂
