I’m going to be a bit of a bore by bringing up The Terminator again, but I really have to 🙂.
It’s one of the saddest moments in cinema—personally, the saddest. I remember watching this for the first time as a kid and just weeping like it was a rainy season in Seattle 😁.
That moment when The Terminator says: "NOW I KNOW WHY YOU CRY"...
To me, that hits just as hard as "Tears in the rain" from Blade Runner—in terms of meaning, the metaphysical weight, the spiritual side of it... man, I honestly don't even have the words. A machine is saying: now I understand your grief... but it's something I could never truly grasp myself...
MAN, that scene is part of my DNA.
Anyway...
God, looking back at that day I first saw it—the tears start flowing just as heavily as they did back then—and then he finishes with that thumbs up? I remember being a kid and thinking; give me a break... that's just too much, man. It absolutely wrecked me.
THIS is where The Terminator peaked. There hasn't been anything quite like it since.

Even though the Terminator series pretty much wrapped itself up after the second installment, I have to say—I was absolutely captivated by Claire Danes in Rise of the Machines. I feel like I’ve practically grown up watching her through various roles in my own life. And honestly, the female Terminator was just fantastic. If anything, the whole vibe might have been thrown off by Nick Stahl, though he certainly wasn't a bad actor by any means.

Look, I am a literal Terminator fanatic—and honestly, the third movie never really bothered me. Sure, it felt unnecessary, but it didn't bother me.
It’s a total rip-off of the original, obviously, but it did pay homage to those first two films.
The same goes for Terminator Salvation; I have nothing against it. In fact, I tip my hat to it because it actually tried to do something new. It even has a GREAT soundtrack—the main theme is just incredible. Seriously, I have to give credit where it's due, because this theme actually feels unique:
The musical score for the main theme is insanely good. Given that the theme from the first two movies might be the best film score of all time, this one actually manages to carve out its own identity—unlike the third one.
As for Genisys... I'm not even going to comment! I refuse to touch that garbage. And Dark Fate... ugh, don't even get me started...
If God allows it, I might buy that trash on Blu-ray just so I can spit on it, pour some gasoline over it, and set it on fire.
Don't worry, I'll make sure to record the whole thing.

Great topic. I honestly can't narrow it down to a top three myself—there are just way too many incredible scenes out there. For the most part, I find myself nodding along with those classic, iconic moments from last century's Sci-Fi hits.
Looking at this century, we seem to be seeing more dystopian themes, but still...
Equilibrium—think about that moment when they betray the protagonist and strip him down. His pulse is absolutely redlining on that monitor, while the people surrounding him look so smugly satisfied with themselves after what they've done to him, and then... nothing. Just a flat line.
Children of Men—where the previous movie felt a certain way, I found this one to be truly exceptional. What really sticks with me are those long, unbroken shots that feel like they were captured entirely in real-time. One of the most powerful moments is during the skirmish in the refugee camp between the military and the rebels; everything just grinds to a halt as everyone stands there, stunned, listening to the sound of a baby crying—the first one born in nearly twenty years—before the slaughter erupts all over again.

Blade Runner 2049 is a good film, but personally, I think Edge of Tomorrow is the best (at least for me) Sci-Fi since 2000.
Setting Interstellar aside—which I like for personal reasons—Edge of Tomorrow is just... wow... a true masterpiece.

Edge of Tomorrow is such a brutal film. The story is incredibly good, and I guess it is also extremely well shot.
Maybe I would add one more great film—District 9!! All the scenes of the journalist's transformation, the last minute, and that "metallic" rose... it was brilliant.

In my opinion, it might just be the biggest twist in cinematic history; even today, I can't stop marveling at that moment—it’s just Maestral.
And then there's his reaction: "You finally did it, you lunatics—you blew it up, damn you."
What I absolutely love about the character played by Heston in this MAESTRAL film is that he starts off as a total Cynic—he actually hates his own kind, which is exactly why he set out on that journey in the first place.
Only to realize halfway through just HOW VITAL YOUR OWN SPECIES IS TO YOU personally, regardless of what it is.
By the end, he's proven himself entirely right regarding his species—starting from that initial phase where he was a Cynic, except now he isn't just cynical anymore; he's FURIOUS because he realized he was right all along.
The way we started this conversation, by the end, Taylor / Heston ends up being right about the human race in this specific scene.
Literally.
Because Taylor had a point: humans really are an utterly idiotic species, and something better needs to exist out there in the universe—which is why he went on that trip, only to witness firsthand just how truly foolish our species can be.
If you ask me, I give humanity maybe 20 years tops before everything goes sideways.

I’ve always been an Old School hardcore Star Trek fan—well, a real Trekkie, haha—and honestly, I think I’ve watched every single episode of every series at least four times... every single one. LITERALLY.
I know a lot of Trekkies absolutely hated the 2009 movie, but personally? I thought it was great. In fact, even those who trashed it had to agree with me THAT THE OPENING SCENE (especially with that incredible score) WAS PURE EPICNESS... But man, let me tell you, this specific scene is just killer:
I have to tip my hat to the music and the whole sequence: 🙏 What a MOTHERFUCKING masterpiece. 😁 😁
I was sitting there in the theater, basically frozen... total Goosebumps everywhere.
And just one more scene from this film that gave me chills again (and yeah, my fellow Trekkies actually agreed with me that this one was EPIC too):
When the Enterprise drops out of warp and just starts unloading everything in its arsenal... MAN, WHO NEEDS STAR WARS ANYWAY?! 😁
But alright, fine, I won't start a whole Star Wars vs Star Trek war right now.
Those two camps have never really clicked, but we don't need to get into a fight about it either 🙂.

Exactly. Sometimes there just isn't room for diplomacy, or a peaceful resolution simply isn't an option.
That’s actually why I loved Kirk and Chicago as captains from that specific angle.
Don't get me wrong, Picard is my absolute favorite, but... when it comes to those moments where the Federation needs to show some teeth and really step on the gas, I'll bet on Kirk and Chicago. 😁
P.S. I should also mention that the beautiful sequence of the Enterprise dropping out of warp and immediately opening fire—combined with the emotion and the score—felt like a genuine gift to the Enterprise after everything we grew up watching and following. That’s how I experienced it; it was one of the biggest reasons I got Goosebumps. It was just such a bad ass scene. 🙂.
I remember being in the theater during that part and feeling... well, about a thousand chills all at once, just sitting there with a massive grin on my face, haha.
Since I've been watching Star Trek since I was six years old—meaning back in 1990 through today—that scene felt like a culmination, a little tribute to us older fans as well as anyone seeing Star Trek for the first time. I remember looking around the theater right then; everyone seemed just... awestruck by what they just saw.
I know there were people there who had never even touched Star Trek before; one friend who went to the movies with us hadn't really watched any of it, but after this film, he ended up binge-watching all the series, hahaha.

Even this forum might end up being part of that system, likely warning me not to post this, which would only prove my point.
