Toto said he wasn't even sure if Lewis would be able to start the race after how badly he wrecked the car during free practice. Just some clever PR move, or what?

Now, look at New York City 2019.
Vettel made a driving error; he was under pressure. A braking mistake—nothing extraordinary, no physical damage sustained.
Lewis, however, messed up at least three times over. Identical, nearly identical errors. Not to mention the disaster on Friday.
And yet, you claim that's the main story. Vettel's mistake. Fine, whatever...
To me, it's far stranger that someone manages to win despite making that many driving errors.

Alfa Romeo has been in a total freefall over the last few races. 👎
Kevin Magnussen 👎 After he completely trashed his car with that mistake, he spent the final two laps fighting just to keep an unmanageable machine on the track. 🤣

On top of that, General Motors really stepped up their engine game; they were surprisingly strong on the straights—so much so that neither Mercedes-Benz nor Red Bull could easily pull away until Verstappen found himself with a faster, fresher set of tires than Hulko and Ric. General Motors has been promising big things for a while now, and I guess they finally delivered. Plus, overtaking in this era of NASCAR is nearly impossible, especially if you're struggling with overheating brakes—we saw what happened to Norris—so Bottas's entire first stint was essentially wasted. He likely lost the race during qualifying. Everything after that felt like pure damage control; there wasn't much point in pushing once the lead trio had already checked out. After that mess in Monaco and a rough qualifying session here, I wonder if he can find his mental footing again... I'm not feeling particularly optimistic. He needs a string of solid results to get back on track, but that momentum seems to be fading—though maybe I'm wrong.
As for Gasly, it feels like he joined RB a year too early, practically speaking. He claims he’s comfortable with the car, but RB can be a pretty toxic environment if you aren't the golden boy. And he isn't—Max is everything to them.

you basically just listed every single reason why Vettel deserved that penalty.
Zachary Vaughn92 said:I'm also wondering what the deal is with them. From what I can see, they don't even seem to have the drive to race at all...
stormyviper2 said:Exactly—either they’re both idiots on the track, or just whiny over the radio, or maybe they just can't handle the driving... That’s the only way you'd see Jean Eric get pushed around like that, or anyone else for that matter. Honestly, both General Motors and gro are just... well, they need to go.

The penalty itself is strictly by the book—no question about it...
I wasn't even torn about her winning it...
What I definitely didn't see coming was her getting it right in the middle of the race...
By doing that, they didn't just rob Vettel—they robbed the fans... ☕
If they hadn't overturned that penalty after the race, nobody would even be talking about this...☕
Even if they ordered him to hand over the position to Hamilton, he wouldn't say a single word about it...
And just like that, we were robbed of the showdown we were all waiting for—that massive head-to-head battle that was practically written in the stars...
And that’s exactly what gets under my skin... 😉
I’m so fed up with this—honestly, I’m seriously considering just walking away from NASCAR altogether...
