A new clip of Max's movement just surfaced—
I can't believe people are still acting surprised when things go sideways—it’s like watching the same rerun of a bad sitcom every single week. At this point, you just have to expect the chaos.

What an idiot. 🤦
There wasn't really any force involved—he just grazed it with his finger, if he even actually touched it at all. It’s pretty hard to believe that could cause any real damage or shift the wing setup. From what I'm reading, the stewards seized the wing for an inspection, so hopefully they'll confirm that a light touch like that couldn't possibly alter anything... which wouldn't be surprising.

Of course Mercedes is going to jump on that—it’s their lifeline, maybe even their only shot at staying relevant. It definitely muddled the whole procedure and dragged out the decision, probably just giving Toto Wolff more breathing room to lobby the FIA.😈

Since he went against the sporting regulations, they’re saying anything could happen—a warning, a fine, some points docked from his license, or maybe even a 3 to 5-place grid penalty. It's basically a toss-up at this point.

Regulations that are almost never actually enforced... I mean, Inspector Seb is never once penalized, can we even talk about that? And let us not even begin to mention the infamous addendum l Quote.
Any driver moving back towards the racing
line, having earlier defended his position off-
line, should leave at least one car width
between his own car and the edge of the
track on the approach to the corner.
However, manoeuvres liable to hinder other
drivers, such as deliberate crowding of a car
beyond the edge of the track or any other
abnormal change of direction, are strictly
prohibited. Any driver who appears guilty of
any of the above offences will be reported to
the Stewards

They call these "epic overtakes"...
But I don't see anything epic about smashing the DRS button and passing someone like a Ferrari cruising past a beat-up old sedan on the interstate.🤔

Thanks.

There isn't much to say, honestly. I’ve read through your descriptions of those incidents, and at the very least 🤦

At least you aren't on the same level as that crowd in the UK who were blaming Albon just because Lewis had the racing line, even though he got hit right on the rear wheel.☕

I totally agree, the best stuff is when someone just shakes Rick off—like, seeing Rick in DRS is almost like he's just sitting there next to this guy or Fernando Alonso. You know, those cars that actually have some serious top speed…

graniteharbor502 said:And that is precisely why I maintain my stance: he is a phenomenal driver. He most certainly earned that championship title.

Anyone can defend themselves by trying to squeeze someone into a tiny gap—it's basically just forcing them into a 1:10 second window.

Don't worry, though—we'll probably get cockpit footage from Max soon showing him just cranking the wheel to the right.

And then, just a few laps later, you've got four sudden swerves on the straightaway after the Senna curve. Check it out at 3:50.

Imagine if every single driver on the starting grid defended their position with four zig-zagging maneuvers. I honestly find it hard to believe people are actually justifying this and calling it "elite defending."

Is there anyone out there seriously claiming Max is better than Lewis? 🤣

It’s like saying Kylian Mbappé is better than Lionel Messi, or Kawhi Leonard or Nikola Jokic is better than LeBron James. It just doesn't hold up.
There's still a massive amount of respect left to earn, which he probably won't do before his career wraps up...

Max is in great form right now, he's maturing, and he's got the superior car—though obviously, not every track is like this one where top speed is everything, but I doubt most of the trolls on this sub would even grasp that.

I haven't offered any commentary on this particular incident quite yet, as I have been patiently waiting for more granular, technical analyses to emerge. However, isn't it somewhat fascinating that he managed to hold off those attacks while driving a significantly slower car on a circuit where there is absolutely nowhere to hide? If Lewis hadn't secured the win, he likely would have been fighting right alongside Bottas in an Alfa Romeo...

Furthermore, I find it highly improbable that Lewis would have acted any differently had he been leading the championship standings with Max breathing down his neck.

Where on earth are you getting that from? I mean, Max isn't even scheduled to face the Stewards for another hour and a half, so how could that be decided already?

I mean, if you look at the whole season, Max has honestly had the better package. I guess you could say he really deserves the title this year. He’s already snagged three massive trophies, and man, there were so many moments where things just didn't go his way. Like, he should have cruised to a win in Las Vegas, but then those tires just completely gave out on him. And then there was that situation where he got knocked out by the guys from the other side—the same guys who ended up winning! Plus, don't even get me started on what happened in Canada. It feels like he's been fighting uphill most of the time, so yeah, in my opinion, he's earned it.

Honestly, I’ve got to say, there are two guys who just rub me the wrong way more than anyone else. One of them is just constantly dealing with that typical arrogant Dutch attitude, which is pretty exhausting to watch. As for the other one... well, I don't think he's even worth the breath it takes to talk about him.

I mean, honestly, I guess you could say Max earned it, and he’s definitely going to be the World Champion. It feels like it's just inevitable at this point, doesn't it?

bluepuma9 said:Look, I’ve rewatched that clip a dozen times. I’m not looking to point fingers at anyone specifically, but it was obvious to me there was no intent to hit. It just happened—high speed, tight space, end of story.

Max intentionally lunged into that turn to squeeze Lewis out. He forced the contact on purpose because a double DNF works perfectly for his strategy.

When you head into a turn, you're almost perfectly lined up with Max, BUT that corner is being taken at absolute full throttle. 🍿 It's tight. Max can stay pinned on the outside if you weren't there, but since you are, he has to lift off while you're stuck having to brake.🤔

Just think about how much space you actually get entering that turn compared to Max when you're braking and he isn't.🤔

If you don't believe me, just look at what would have happened to Leclerc if he hadn't lifted and spun out; look at where Hamilton ended up in front and where Leclerc would have been trailing behind.

And here's the big question: how long has this guy been racing? How many technical analyses has he done regarding track limits and experience? When you factor in that contact in that specific corner—where a front-to-rear wheel clip means a 100% DNF for Max and maybe only a 30% chance for Hamilton—we're talking a massive swing in probability.😈

It’s not like Hamilton is some rookie who didn't see that coming.😵

It’s the same thing as when you’re driving a high-performance car through qualifying and a race—you go through 15 turns and 70 laps, totaling over a thousand turns in a weekend without hitting a single bit of understeer, only to have it catch you right when you least expect it, like when Rosberg caught that damn understeer on the outside and clipped him.🤣🤣 And it's always the same deal: when things get intense, the line gets wide, 🤣 and then the analysts try to sell us these theories like we're idiots.😵

As far as I can tell, I don't believe Lewis Hamilton had any idea about the improper DRS usage.

Nobody at Mercedes-Benz had a clue. 🙂

That’s not just a tiny gap; it’s huge. You can clearly see there's way too much play in there...
If 85mm is the limit, this thing is definitely hitting 100. 🙂

Then again, oh right, apparently this little touch is the issue. 🙏
https://streamable.com/g0yst7

Seriously? That definitely moved the DRS. 🙂
When mechanics grab the car by the rear wing to push it into the pits, who cares. When turbulence hits at 200 mph, whatever. But the second Max touches the wing, suddenly the Bear is illegal because of it. 🤣

If you don't see it this season, you're clearly just blinded by pure fanboyism.🤦

If you’re asking me who I prefer, despite all the nonsense and the massive amount of fake behavior, it’s still Lewis Hamilton.
Who’s the better driver? Honestly, Lewis Hamilton is the GOAT without question when he actually wants to be, but this season? Not even in his wildest dreams.

Who’s got the faster car? It’s Lewis Hamilton, no question. But this season is basically just turning into a "let's see what happens" vibe.
Honestly, there was zero bite in that sprint. Not from him, and definitely not from the team. Nothing.
It looks like they just checked out. They probably figured the competition wasn't even worth their time anyway. Like, all they actually had to do was beat an underperforming Bottas while putting on some fake drama about fighting Red Bull, and they’d be set. Simple, right?
Seems like Honda really caught them off guard. They probably expected those engines to just fall apart and figured Max would just keep shooting himself in the foot with more stupid mistakes.
And then, somehow, everything went completely sideways. 😁

As of today, the finger emoji isn't about Vettel anymore—it belongs to Max Verstappen. It would be pretty incredible if he celebrated a win with that same iconic gesture Vettel used to do. 🤣

Can someone please Photoshop Max's head onto Vettel's body for those victory celebrations where he uses the finger? 🙏

The absolute number one troll on this entire sports forum actually had the nerve to tell someone they were trolling... 🤦

Honestly, we really ought to implement a rule where anyone who dares to claim that Mercedes has a slower car gets an immediate ban... I mean, at this point, anyone insisting on anything else is just being a total hypocrite against everything our own eyes can clearly see...
