Marseille vs. Caen - Home Win @ 1.45 (2-3 goals)

Home side was absolute fire at the start of the season—then they hit a bit of a slump. They’re sitting on three straight draws right now, and they desperately need this win to stay in the title hunt. They're trailing Lyon by 4 points at the top, so after three draws, it's high time they actually closed one out.

German Cup Round of 16 - single leg match

Dynamo Dresden vs. B. Dortmund | f+2 @ 1.90 (0-2)

Dortmund is finally back in action and honestly? They’re looking sharp again—right up there with Leverkusen and Wolfsburg at the moment!
They are definitely cruising into the next round, 100%. It’s basically their best shot at saving the season with a trophy—plus, it gives them a nice little backdoor way to lock in that Europa League spot for next year. Remember how they completely crushed Pauli in the last round (3-0)? Yeah, that was a statement. Dresden isn't going to be much more of a headache—they've dropped four straight in the third tier, and they haven't even managed to find the back of the net in their last three games... so, yeah, easy money.

Man, looking at this Servette vs. Chiasso matchup—it’s looking like a solid bet at 1.55 right now with them up 1-0! Honestly, who wouldn't jump on that? It feels like such a safe play given the momentum—you feeling it too? Let's go!

So, I saw the odds drop yesterday from 1.65 down to 1.55 for this matchup—crazy, right? Anyway, Chivas is playing this Wednesday, and since Servette had that big game on Sunday, they’re probably looking a little gassed. Other than that, Servette is basically in a dead sprint trying to clinch promotion, while Chivas is sitting pretty—they're like 8 points clear of the relegation zone, so they've got some breathing room!

Dortmund vs. Schalke: X2 @ 2.70 (3-0)

Schalke is far from being an insignificant side; if one examines their recent history at Dortmund's stadium, they have managed to avoid defeat in two of their last three away matches, and lost only twice in their last five encounters. Furthermore, while Dortmund was dealing with the physical toll of a Champions League away fixture against Juventus this past week, Schalke had the luxury of a full rest period. When you weigh Dortmund's current domestic form against these specific circumstances, I find it impossible not to place my wager on this outcome.

Manchester City - city 2 @ 2.4. Double chance or draw @1.75 (2-1)

Liverpool’s current level of play is frankly abysmal. They barely managed to scrape a victory against Besiktas at home, relying entirely on a penalty kick to save them. It seems quite evident to me that they lack any viable successor to Suarez, who was the sole engine driving their performance last season, and this deficiency is becoming apparent across every facet of their game. Furthermore, they had to travel to Turkey this past Thursday and endure extra time, which means they have had less than three days of recovery. In contrast, City played at home against Barcelona, and even though they lost 2-1, their performance was far from poor; I believe they are in excellent form, particularly with Aguero now available. City is firmly in the title race, and I am confident they will overcome a struggling Liverpool side, though I will hedge my bets just to be safe.

I honestly find Liverpool's current performance to be quite underwhelming, to say the least. They barely managed to scrape a win against Besiktas at home thanks to a single penalty kick, which really doesn't inspire much confidence in my eyes. It seems to me that they lack anyone capable of stepping up to fill the void left by Suarez, who was essentially carrying them through last season, and this deficiency is becoming painfully obvious across every aspect of their game. Furthermore, they had to travel to Turkey on Thursday and endure extra time, meaning they’ve had less than three days of actual rest to recover. On the other hand, City played at home against Barcelona, and even though they lost 2-1, I don't feel they played poorly at all; in fact, I believe they are in excellent shape, especially with Aguero back in the lineup. While I suspect City will come out on top against a struggling Liverpool side because they are fighting so hard for the title, I think I'll play it safe just to be certain.

You have to consider that everyone gets particularly fired up for these massive matchups against high-profile names, especially in the Premier League, and those teams expected to win often carry an immense amount of pressure on their shoulders. A 2-2 draw wouldn't surprise me one bit, even though everything you pointed out makes perfect sense.

While it is certainly true that everyone is feeling the hype surrounding these upcoming derbies, I must honestly say that I believe the chances of Liverpool securing a victory are remarkably slim. Their offensive line appears to be struggling significantly—it feels as though they might struggle to even find the back of the net—and I find it highly unlikely that they will manage to score two or three goals. Conversely, their defensive structure seems quite porous, which guarantees they will concede. If I were forced to predict a specific scoreline, I would confidently suggest a 3-1 win for Manchester City.

Malaga vs. Getafe 1 @1.62 (3-2)
In my estimation, this is one of the most reliable picks on today's slate. Look, Getafe has been playing some decent football lately, but things have gone completely sideways for them this week. It’s looking like a total disaster behind the scenes. They are facing serious financial instability. To make matters worse, they just lost Samir to a big-money move to a Chinese club—and he was playing out of his mind. Then, out of nowhere, manager Quique Flores resigned. Word on the street is he was blindsided by that player sale. It’s a massive shock. When he was actually in charge, they were finally clawing their way out of the relegation zone and finding their rhythm. Now? After all that chaos, I highly doubt the squad has found its footing again. On the flip side, you have Malaga. They are riding high after that unbelievable upset victory at Camp Nou. The morale in that locker room must be through the roof, and they are actually within striking distance of a European spot. If you look at the history between these two sides, the home team almost always comes out on top. I truly believe a motivated Malaga will steamroll right over a demoralized Getafe.

Friday 9:00 PM PSG vs. Monaco - Draw @ 1.75 (1-0/2-0) (SS)

Look, these two sides have been deadlocked in seven of their last seven meetings. Honestly, it feels like a missed opportunity if we don't take a swing at this. We’re looking at a US Open Cup quarterfinal here—it's a single-elimination knockout format, so I really don't see either side playing with reckless abandon tonight. They can't afford to just throw everything forward and leave themselves exposed. Besides, Monaco’s defense has been about as leaky as a rusted bucket lately. On the flip side, PSG has been the king of the stalemate; out of their last six matches, they've walked away with four draws. That includes scoreless battles against teams like Chelsea and Caen, plus an away draw against Lyon just three days ago. And now, here they are again against Monaco. My whole logic is built on the current numbers, so if anyone out there has some insider info regarding major lineup shifts or injuries, please, let me know. I thought about just betting the straight Draw, but I think this specific spread is the smarter, slightly more cushioned play.

Good luck 😉

Another statistical play—hopefully this one lands better than my last attempt at math 🙂

St. Louis City SC vs. FC Cincinnati over 2.5 @ 1.60 (over 2.5 @ 1.90 over 3.5 @ 2.50)---- (might try to catch it live 4+ in 1st half @ 16.25 and 6+ total @ 9.00 🙂) (4-0)

It’s a massive MLS rivalry match here—top two sides fighting it out—and these are easily two of the most explosive teams in the league right now, alongside maybe LAFC.
Cincinnati hasn't been the absolute most efficient lately (goal difference is sitting at 8:4 over 5 games), but St. Louis? They’ve been absolutely flying, averaging about 4.6 goals per game.
Anyway, they say a picture is worth a thousand words... 🙂

image

The short version: looking at their last 20 matches, 19 of them saw at least 3 goals—just one scoreless draw and one 4-0 blowout, everything else was 3+ goals. That's 88 total goals in those 20 games, which is an average of 4.4 per match.

Head-to-head history is just as wild:

11.20.2014 MLS St. Louis City SC 3-4 FC Cincinnati
08.24.2014 MLS FC Cincinnati 1-4 St. Louis City SC
06.07.2014 MLS FC Cincinnati 5-5 St. Louis City SC
03.31.2014 MLS St. Louis City SC 3-0 FC Cincinnati
10.06.2013 MLS St. Louis City SC 2-3 FC Cincinnati

That's 30 goals in their last 5 meetings—averaging a whopping 6 goals per game 🙏)

Kickoff is in about half an hour.

FC Midtjylland vs Esbjerg fB | Home Win @ 1.80 (3-0)

So, Midtjylland has been chilling since Sunday, while Esbjerg has had to grind through two brutal matches against Aalborg in the meantime
. Honestly, Midtjylland is an absolute beast at home—I mean, look at that record! They’re sitting pretty at 10-0-0 this season with a massive +17 goal difference. How do you even compete with that?
As for injuries, it’s pretty much a wash—just a few mid-level players out for both sides. But here's the kicker: Esbjerg took a real hit during the winter transfer window because their top scorer, Pusic, actually ended up joining Midtjylland! Talk about a tough break, right?

Good grief, I have no idea where they got this sudden lack of energy from—especially since they had a full two-and-a-half-month break before this three-game stretch started.
If they can't handle a schedule like this, then honestly, they might want to consider leaving professional football behind altogether.

So, here’s the bottom line from the study: if pro teams are grinding through multiple games in a single week, they’re basically playing Russian roulette with injuries. Sure, giving them 72 to 96 hours might be just enough to keep their stats looking decent, but it’s definitely not enough to keep them out of the training room! The researchers think it’s a double whammy—you've got the physical exhaustion hitting hard, plus that mental burnout that comes with a packed schedule. And honestly? It’s not news to anyone following the sport—older research already pointed out that such a tiny window of downtime isn't nearly enough time to get muscle power, sprint speed, or agility back to 100%. It’s totally plausible that even if a player’s movement looks smooth on TV, they're actually running on fumes under the surface. We're talking about muscle strength and proprioception—those super important things that keep your ankles and knees stable. If those aren't fully recharged by the next kickoff, you're looking at a massive red flag for joint injuries.

So, we’re really looking at this after two and a half months of off-season downtime and getting ready to kick things back up for the new season?

USL Championship | FC El Paso - FC Saint Louis over 2.5 goals @ 1.70 (2-3) | SS

These two teams play high-scoring games—even by US soccer standards. Looking at the home, away, and head-to-head stats, you get the sense this will be an open match where both sides hunt for goals, regardless of what the raw numbers suggest.

USL Championship | LA Galaxy - Inter Miami over 2.5 goals @ 1.70 (2-0) | SS

The odds on the away side scoring feel a bit generous, considering they're a top-tier squad that finds the net consistently. For instance, they put three past the current league leaders just last week. As for today's hosts, they've managed to score in four of their last five road trips—counting both league and cup play.

Eric Fox7 said:So we're talking about doing this even after having two and a half months of off-season rest and pre-season training to get ready for the season?

Look, I’m no pro, so I don't know exactly how long that "freshness" lasts once you finish basic conditioning—but hey, wouldn't huge clubs be moving their league games around for European commitments if it didn't matter? And why else would leagues tweak the schedules just so everyone gets equal downtime between

Back in 2001, when the Champions League was pushed back a week because of 9/11, a team like the Seattle Sounders ended up with an extra week of downtime since they weren't playing their international match. They went out that weekend and absolutely crushed their opponent 5-0! My buddy, who’s a strength coach over at one of the local gyms I hit up, was telling me how massive the difference was and how much that unexpected break totally wrecked the other team's rhythm.

It might not be the ultimate dealbreaker, but yeah, it definitely lowers Esbjerg's chances. I mean, let's be real—Esbjerg isn't some global powerhouse like Bayern Munich or Barcelona that gets all the fancy recovery perks, right? You know, the ice baths, the oxygen chambers, the high-tech supplements, and all that crazy stuff.

Portland Timbers vs. LA Galaxy 1x (0-1)

honestly, seeing the odds at 2.7 for a Galaxy win is just hilarious—it should realistically be closer to 3.5 or even 4
look, every single team goes through ups and downs every season... Portland is riding high right now because they just brought in a new coach, while the Galaxy are stuck in a slump for that exact same reason
and let's be real, the Galaxy's actual results aren't even the worst part—it's their playstyle. if they keep playing like they did against those bottom-tier MLS sides... then yeah, they don't stand a chance winning this one...
i'm calling it now: they're definitely in a funk and there's no way they're catching up to Seattle for that third-place spot

The American MLS is a total no-bet for me
But I think it’s common knowledge that Osijek always pulls some kind of magic out of their hats after the winter break... especially if they’re fighting for survival. Once they wake up, it’s a domino effect—teams like LAFC, the Galaxy, and Portland start dropping one by one...

Since the Split fans aren't exactly riding with the LAFC crowd, we shouldn't expect that "it'll be an easy win" attitude you see from other teams facing Osijek right now...

I’ve watched the last three home games for the Sounders—against FC Cincinnati, the Portland Timbers, and Seattle FC—and frankly, they looked terrible in all three. Plus, based on my memory, they traditionally struggle when playing out in Chicago.

And this isn't helping their case either: http://www.nytimes.com/business/economy-news...trouble--/1309092/

The number one should be a solid bet tomorrow; I expect the odds to climb by another 0.20–0.30. Might be worth a play.

Chelsea/vs Southampton: Yes @ 1.85 (1-1)

So, Chelsea isn't just looking at playing extra time tonight—they are completely mentally drained, too. Honestly, it’s gonna take them forever to bounce back before Sunday. Their defense is definitely going to be sluggish and way more vulnerable than usual, plus Zabreb should be firing since he's feeling better—not to mention City is basically breathing down their necks! On the flip side, Southampton hasn't managed a clean sheet in six games now... so there's a massive chance they finally break that streak here.
