Newcastle Jets vs. Perth Glory: 2 @ 1.90 (0-2)

So, we’ve got the absolute basement dwellers of the MLS here—I mean, talk about a rough patch—sitting with a measly two wins in twenty-three games. They're hosting Perth, who, while not exactly firing on all cylinders lately, did manage to scrape a win against the Wanderers last week (and you have to give credit where it's due, because even though the Wanderers have had a nightmare season, they've been showing some life). Perth is currently fighting tooth and nail for those top two spots—it's a tight race with five teams separated by just three points—to avoid that first playoff elimination round. Plus, Perth actually has a game in hand, which adds another layer to this whole thing.
It’s worth pointing out, though—and this is the part that really sticks out to me—that Newcastle hasn't even tasted a win against Perth in nearly three and a half years. In that stretch, out of eleven meetings, Perth has walked away with nine wins and two draws. It’s been a total stranglehold.

Since Perth was able to flip the script and come from behind in the second half last time around, I'm thinking it might be worth taking a flyer on the halftime/fulltime bet: 1/2 @ 30 (BetMGM) (0-0/0-2)

Guarani vs. Racing Club: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.80 (or let's go big: Over 3.5 @ 2.15) (Expected score 2-0)

This is the penultimate group stage match in the Copa Libertadores—basically the knockout qualifying round—where Paraguay’s runners-up, Guarani, welcome the Argentine champs, Racing. The Argentines have pretty much locked up that second seed, leaving Guarani to scrap against Uruguay's Sporting for the final spot.
I’ve had my eye on Guarani for a while now—they play these absolutely chaotic matches where goals just fly out of both ends. Honestly, since I started following them, I've mostly been hunting for overs because their version of a "high scoring game" is a 4-3 shootout, whereas most teams consider a 2-1 win a blowout. 😁 Even though Racing comes from a league that leans more toward low-scoring affairs, they've been surprisingly efficient in this tournament—averaging over 3 goals per game, while Guarani is pushing north of 4.

The first meeting between these two ended 4-1 in favor of Racing.

Thinking about throwing some action on 6+ goals @ 14.00 or even 7+ @ 22.00
Ended up taking the live bet on 4+ goals in the 1st half @ 22.00

CSKA vs. Dinamo 1 @2.00 (1-2)
I’m not usually one to root for the underdog in these matchups, but this spread looks incredibly tempting. Look at the standings: after that loss to the St. Louis Rams, CSKA is sitting eight points behind them, and now they've even been overtaken by Краснодар—let's call them the Kansas City Chiefs—for that second spot. This feels like a massive opportunity. It is a chance to reclaim their rightful place and start chipping away at that deficit. On the other side, Dinamo is stumbling. They haven't tasted victory in a month. My theory? It’s the fatigue of the Champions League schedule. They have a mountain of catch-up games ahead, and a packed calendar is a heavy burden. Now, there is a catch. CSKA has historically struggled against Dinamo; they haven't beaten them in quite some time. That is a real hurdle. However, I believe the desperation favors the home team here. If they don't turn things around, their standing in the big leagues could be in serious jeopardy. Meanwhile, Dinamo still has enough games left in the season to fix their slump.

sub 17:00 Istra vs. Hajduk: Both teams to score, 1.85 (3-2) (SS)

This one is massive for both sides. You've got Hajduk fighting against someone like Atlanta United for those European spots—they’re trailing by 5 points but they actually have a game in hand—while Istra is locked in a three-way dogfight with teams like Portland and Seattle just to stay in the top flight. Everyone is separated by a single point, so these 3 points are everything. Honestly, there shouldn't be any tactical math involved here; you just play attacking football. A draw helps absolutely nobody. As for the Hajduk defense... well, what can I say? It’s been a disaster. In this stretch of the season, they've conceded in basically every match against a top-tier club—14 goals over 9 games, including 5 in their last three. If you've actually watched them lately, you know they need to sober up and get their act together. On the flip side, Istra is pretty reliable at home; they put two past a team like Houston and grabbed one each against Portland and Atlanta. Sure, they went quiet against the heavy hitters like LA Galaxy or New York, but that's a different level entirely. Hajduk's offense is easily their strongest asset, and I think they'll exploit an Istra defense that's prone to making silly mistakes. Last time these two met, it was a wild 5-3 affair back in December.

Good luck, everyone 😉

Almeria vs. Granada - Over 7.5 cards (Bet365)(8)

Look, everything about this matchup screams absolute chaos, like a powder keg just waiting for a match. We’ve got the 18th and 19th teams in the league facing off, separated by a single point, which basically means these guys aren't just playing for pride—they're playing for their lives because the loser is staring down a fast track to the G League.

To make things even more interesting, the guy running this show is Santiago Jaime, who is hands-down the strictest ref in the league this season, which honestly makes me pretty happy 😉 This dude has been handing out yellow cards like they're candy, averaging a wild 7.75 per game. Yeah, you read that right; in his first 16 games this year, he's been dropping an average of about 8 cards per match, and most of those were in low-stakes games that didn't have half the tension we're looking at today...

image

Both Almeria and Granada usually rack up over 3 cards themselves, but with the stakes being this high, I’m expecting tempers to flare instantly. It's going to be a nerve-wracking mess, and frankly, I wouldn't be shocked if we see someone sent off with a red card before the final whistle even blows.
Ideally, we get an early goal in the first thirty minutes to really light a fire under both sides, because once that frustration sets in, all bets are off. Our man Jaime will definitely do his thing, and honestly, thank God they assigned him to this specific scrap.

I mean, some books are only offering 1.65 for the over on this line... sure, the bar is set pretty high, but given how much these two hate each other right now, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up seeing double-digit cards by the time it's over.

Wolfsburg vs. Hamburg 2 - 1, 1.80 (0-2) (local odds 1.85)

It’s honestly painful to watch. Once a powerhouse, Hamburg is now staring down the barrel of relegation from the top flight. They’re sitting in 16th place right now, desperately clawing for any kind of survival playoff spot just to stay relevant in American soccer, but I seriously doubt they’ll walk away with anything positive today because they’re heading into enemy territory against a Wolfsburg side that is absolutely on fire. This team is basically Bayern Munich’s shadow this season—they’re killing it in Europe (facing Napoli in the Europa League quarterfinals this Thursday!), crushing it in the league, and they just dispatched Freiburg in the cup semifinals on Wednesday.
Look at the numbers: over their last 19 matches across all competitions, they’ve gone 15-3-1, and in their last six alone, it’s been 5-1-0. They are scoring goals left and right—which isn't surprising given they have weapons like Dost, Schürrle, Perišić, and De Bruyne leading the charge—but they aren't giving up much either; they’ve only conceded more than one goal twice in those last 19 games. On the flip side, Hamburg has been completely toothless, failing to find the back of the net for five straight matches. Sometimes they don't even manage a single shot on goal in 90 minutes! That is pure suicide against a Wolfsburg squad that specializes in tearing teams apart on the counterattack. The home side hasn't seen a win in eight matches, and frankly, I don't see them breaking that streak today, let alone walking away with a point. To wrap this up, look at the head-to-head history: Hamburg hasn't beaten Wolfsburg in their last eight meetings; five ended in draws, and Wolfsburg took three—two of which were recent wins covering the spread.

7:00 PM Slaven - LA Galaxy 2, 1.70 (0-0) (SS - lock of the day)

Maybe I’m losing my mind here, but this line on LA Galaxy is genuinely baffling me. In my experience, sportsbooks almost never just hand out free money or make mistakes like this. It makes me wonder if there’s some "behind the scenes" maneuvering happening in this league. Okay, if we set aside the match-fixing rumors—which, let's be honest, usually turn out to be nothing—then the Galaxy are the massive favorites here, and this price is way too high. Slaven has been playing decent enough at home lately, and they even managed a draw against a tough San Jose side, but then they went and dropped games to a terrible Seattle team and some weak bottom-feeders from Portland and Denver. It’s a completely different ballgame compared to the Galaxy, who are sitting on a 20-7-0 record in the MLS this year; it seems unlikely they'd let a team like Slaven ruin an almost perfect season. I don't know what's going on inside their locker room, but even if they're missing players, they are still miles ahead of Slaven. Looking back at their last 16 matchups, the Galaxy won 15 and drew one. There are 9 rounds left in the season, including this one, and while the Galaxy have essentially locked up the title, it's probably too early to totally coast. Our local books have them at 1.70 while the international markets are hovering around 1.60, which is pretty much the same thing. Look, if I were living outside the States and had zero clue how soccer worked here, I’d just look at the stats and hammer the Galaxy win. But since I actually know what's up, I'm going to be cautious. 😁

Good luck, everyone. 😉

Italian Second Division.

Perugia vs. Varese. I put $100 on a Perugia win at 1.40 odds via Bet365. It ended 2-0.

The situation is pretty straightforward. Varese has only managed to pick up one point in their last seven games, and they’ve lost every single other matchup against the spread.
They’re sitting at the bottom with 28 points, so they're basically on the verge of being relegated. I guess they've almost theoretically dropped out.
Perugia is currently sitting in 8th place, which happens to be the final spot for playoff qualification.
They have an 8-8-1 record at home.
They haven't lost in six games. Given their current form, I guess they should come out on top here.
The odds at our local sportsbooks are sitting at 1.45, but I guess if you’re playing a single bet or adding it to a parlay, it might actually be better to take the 1.40 option without the point spread or taxes.

PSG vs. Barcelona - Over 4 goals @ 3.20 (1-3 result predicted)

Even though the home side is stepping onto the pitch today missing a few heavy hitters—think Ibrahimović, Verratti, Motta, and maybe even Luiz being a question mark—I just can't let this one pass me by. It’s all about the history here. There's a pattern emerging between these two teams that you just can't ignore. Barcelona is showing up with basically their full squad, though it looks like Dani Alves might be sitting this one out due to that suspension. On the other hand, look at the stats: PSG has seen five straight games go over the 4-goal mark, and in their last five head-to-head matchups, four of them were absolute shootouts. I'm expecting Barca to come out swinging against a vulnerable PSG side, and there's no way PSG sits back and plays defense in their own stadium. This is going to be a goal fest. I can feel it.

Tomorrow: Los Angeles FC vs. Seattle Sounders

The Sounders don't really need this one—they’re likely just pacing themselves for the US Open Cup. We've seen this pattern before where teams like LAFC seem hesitant to take points off the big clubs. They technically "can" win tomorrow, but I have to wonder if LAFC can even afford to qualify for international competition. In previous seasons, there was always that lingering concern for ownership that qualifying might trigger a massive UEFA-style investigation into the club's structure—essentially treating them like a minor league affiliate rather than a standalone entity.

So, I'm curious to hear from those of you who follow the league more closely—even if they aren't intentionally "saving" players, does it feel like LAFC is playing with one hand tied behind their back? They look almost apologetic out there, as if they aren't allowed to win. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I'd value your perspective. Thanks. 🙂

Honestly, LAFC is on such a tear right now—they’re basically aiming for an undefeated season at this point—so I really doubt they'll slip up. Even if they drop points today, I still see Louisville making it into the playoffs.
Louisville made a deep run in the postseason just two seasons ago, so I don't think you're really looking at much of a risk here.

If you ask me, there's no value in the moneyline; the only thing worth looking at would be the over/under.🤷

There’s no way a draw is happening here. Not if we listen to what Eric Fox7 is claiming—he’s convinced this kid is going to finish the season undefeated. So, you either take the 1/2 option or just play the draw and hope for the best...

edit:
And wouldn't you know it, even Eric Fox7 says it:

16:00 Chelsea FC - Manchester United X2 1.90 (SS) (1-0)

The primary motivation behind my decision to back this outcome is quite simply the recent form exhibited by Manchester United. They have been playing with such incredible momentum lately, and I truly feel they are finally starting to recapture that unmistakable essence of play we all remember fondly from the Alex Ferguson era. In my humble estimation, the only thing missing from the lineup today might be Luke Shaw. On the flip side, Chelsea FC has been looking absolutely miserable on the pitch; while their recent results might suggest otherwise with a string of wins and draws (WWWDD), if you actually watch them play, the quality just isn't there. This certainly isn't the same Chelsea FC we saw at the beginning of the season—at least, that is my personal impression. Personally, I am convinced that Manchester United will secure a positive result, and I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they walked away with all three points. It feels like a solid value bet worth a shot. Lucky ☕

Manchester United is missing Carrick, Daley Blind, Chris Jones, and Roy today—though Luke Shaw is back in the mix.
Without Carrick, I’m certain Manchester United will look significantly weaker; since his return, they’ve actually found a rhythm—he knows how to switch play and settle the tempo. Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini just aren't built for that role, and now they're also missing Daley Blind, who stepped up in that capacity whenever Carrick was out.
My take? Chelsea FC clinches the title today!

I am quite certain that Manchester United will look significantly weaker without Carrick in the lineup; ever since he made his comeback, the team has truly found its rhythm, possessing that ability to switch play effectively and settle the tempo. Neither Ander Herrera nor Marouane Fellaini really fit that specific tactical profile, and now they are also missing Blind, who stepped up to fill that void whenever Carrick was unavailable.
It is my honest opinion that Chelsea FC will clinch the title today!

That is absolutely true, I am only just realizing it now... it is going to be a rough one, which explains why the odds are set that way, considering how vital those players are.👎

Anyone know a site where I can check which referee is calling which match in the top five leagues? And then maybe dig into their stats too...

Also, Mourinho is perfectly fine with a draw right now—he’ll take that 8-point cushion over Arsenal and Manchester United, especially since they have a head-to-head match coming up. Chelsea is also missing Diego Costa, who is easily their most lethal threat, so I’m expecting a real grind where the game gets suffocated before anyone actually tries to break through Manchester United's defense. It’s a shame, though—it would be such great value if Michael Carrick and the rest of the squad were actually firing on all cylinders.
