Hello!
On May 15th, I underwent surgery for septoplasty along with some minor aesthetic rhinoplasty, so I wanted to share my experience.
Three months ago, I scheduled a consultation with Tomic Bagatin, which cost me $117 (this included a 3D Vectra scan at 50% off—normally it’s $233). From the moment I stepped into the waiting room, the nurses were incredibly attentive. They truly care about you even before you arrive; they actually called me the day before just to remind me of my appointment. I spent nearly an hour inside (imaging, discussion, my questions, his questions). Since I had another matter to handle at the time, we agreed I would follow up afterward (he could have easily pushed for immediate surgery to secure the payment, but he didn't). During our talk, he was very serious and focused on understanding my condition, my goals, and my fears... I never felt like just another number in a long line of patients. A day before the procedure, I met with their anesthesiologist. She was equally kind, answering my hundred different questions without ever checking the clock. On the day of the procedure, I arrived at 8:00 AM on an empty stomach for an injection related to blood clotting (I can't recall the exact term), and then returned at 1:30 PM for the actual surgery. They placed me in a room where I changed into their surgical gown. Afterward, I reviewed all the details and expectations one last time with the doctor. Once I reached the operating room, I fell asleep quickly. The whole process lasted five hours. After several bouts of waking and sleeping, I finally came to around 11:00 PM. There was no pain, though I did deal with nausea from the anesthesia and a bit of blood that had trickled into my stomach. The next morning, I went home after my check-up. Still, no pain—just a strange sensation in my nose. Today, four days post-op, things are much better. The bruising has shifted through various colors, but there is still no pain, and the swelling was minimal. The instructions say to avoid sneezing, but whenever I sneeze, it seems to go out through my mouth (I'm not sure if it's a reflex or what, but the packing and everything stayed perfectly in place)... Eating is actually the hardest part because you have to breathe and eat through the same area... but I adjusted quickly, so it isn't much of an issue anymore.
That is more or less everything for now.
I am very satisfied with everything so far, but I won't have the final verdict until the splint is removed and the packing is out... fingers crossed, and good luck to everyone who is still waiting to go through this.🙂
