You should head over to an ENT specialist. That’s what it says, anyway. It really depends on what kind of referral you have—if you want it to be valid for six months, it needs to be a Type D. You can go to any doctor you choose. Since traumatic deformity can involve both functional and aesthetic issues, they aren't really separate things; it’s not just about how it looks, but how it works too.

Ah, okay... I guess I'll just take care of it next week then. But seriously, there isn't anything actually written there—it's completely blank, she just signed her name at the bottom 🤷 I mean, I see the options listed as a, b, c, and d, but nothing is circled or filled in, so I'm a bit confused. I'd hate to show up there and end up looking foolish 🤣 Just kidding, I don't know, maybe it's all processed digitally...

They used an external approach on me because the surgeon decided it was the best way to handle my specific case. It isn't a massive incision, so there's hardly any visible scarring. They recommended using Contratubex, but it just burns my skin and itches like crazy, so I stopped using it altogether.
I can't even get comfortable, and honestly, it’s driving me insane.

Betty Edwards22 said:Hi there,

First, I should note that not all doctors practice identically—that is to say, they don't always opt for the same interventions at the same time—so my perspective might differ slightly, especially since Merkur follows a different rhinological school of thought than what you'd find at Vineyard.

So, the stance I generally advocate for is treating the clinical symptomatology—essentially, focusing on what the patient actually reports rather than just the CT scan findings.
I don't have specific data regarding the patency of that right cavity, but judging by the headaches described, I would be inclined toward a septal reconstruction; specifically, removing a spur that might be triggering trigeminal pain via contact with the ethmoid cells.

As for the CT scan itself, it isn't particularly problematic: osteomas are typically monitored, and a minimal mucosal reaction isn't really a sufficient reason to proceed with FESS.
In conclusion, one could resect the bullous antrum, which likely formed as a reaction to uneven volume within the cavities, leading to hypertrophy on one side.

S+FESS can be performed simultaneously, though that depends heavily on the surgeon's speed and skill—or rather, the available operating room time—and we do deal with those kinds of constraints here.

First off, thank you so much for the response; perhaps I am feeling a little less anxious now...
Of course, the moment I read the word "osteoma," I went into a total panic..

The CT shows normally pneumatized and clear maxillary, frontal, and sphenoid sinuses, along with normal osteomeatal complexes.. The biggest issue is my headaches—sharp pains that wake me up several times a night; I’m going absolutely crazy from them.. and this has been happening for years now.
Perhaps the wisest course of action is to address that deviation first, and then simply monitor the osteoma. It doesn't grow rapidly, does it..?
In your opinion, who is the best specialist in your area regarding septoplasty or rhinoplasty..? I mean, since I have to undergo surgery anyway, I might want to take the opportunity to fix the hump and the length of my nose while I'm at it.. Is that even possible at Vineyard?
Thank you so much..

We’re dealing with massive backlogs right now, and with the current schedules, it’s honestly going to be tough to give everything 100% focus without our surgeons feeling rushed into the next procedure because we're short on anesthesiologists.

As for your other question, I’m going to pass on answering that one—I hope you can understand why I can't go into the reasons for the absence.

A person could honestly go years without needing to touch an osteoma.

It’s a pressure cooker situation, primarily because we are dealing with a critical shortage of anesthesiologists.

As for the other question—I am intentionally choosing not to provide an answer; I truly hope you can understand the reasons behind my silence on that particular matter.

An osteoma doesn't necessarily have to be moved—not even for years.

It isn't much of a consolation...😉
And yes, naturally, thank you.

It’s not really anyone's business, but honestly, that’s a question for the health authorities—definitely a tough one for us regular folks to wrap our heads around.

electricangler32 said:Everything was done internally for me. Anyway, my kid smacked me right in the nose with his head this morning 😢 it didn't really bleed, but man, did it hurt! Now I feel like my nose is drifting to the right again, but I'm still pretty swollen so I can't be sure. I'll have to see the doctor in the morning... if something actually shifted, is it possible for them to fix it now while it's still fresh, or am I just talking nonsense?!

Look, whatever I say isn't medical advice. You really need to get to a doctor and have them take a look. I used to hit myself in my sleep all the time, but never quite that hard.

Look, read the contraindications on the cream's packaging. If stinging and itching are listed as side effects, stop putting it on immediately and ask for a substitute. You might be reacting to a specific ingredient. Or maybe it's just part of the healing process... who knows? Just ask your doctor.

I read that, but I’m wondering if anyone else is actually planning on doing it.
As for me, I unfortunately took a pretty hard hit to the bridge of my nose today...
From someone else, obviously.
To say I saw stars would be an understatement...
I spent nearly half an hour crying—partly from the pain, and partly because the tears just wouldn't stop flowing.

Can anyone help me out with some info? I’ve got a massive hump on my back—it's honestly awful—and I just want it gone. I'm talking about getting rid of it once and for all, without having to deal with any constriction or anything like that. Does anyone know which surgeons in Manhattan actually perform this kind of operation? Please help! 🙂

I could use some advice... I have an operation scheduled for Monday, but I woke up today with a fever of 98.6...
Is it actually smart to go through with the surgery?

Alright, thanks, but what could actually be going on here? Specifically, why would someone experience an unpleasant odor whenever they sneeze? Is there anything proactive that can be done while waiting for their appointment with the ENT specialist?
The individual isn't dealing with any sinus issues and hasn't had any prior medical treatment for this.

That isn't even much of a fever. Besides, they're going to run all the checks before the procedure anyway, and they'll tell you if you're cleared to proceed.

Is it actually a good idea to push through and go to the hospital for the surgery?

At the end of the day, the anesthesiologist will be the one to make that final call.

Sorry, I'm not really the type to start guessing things before an actual exam—it could honestly be anything at all, or nothing significant.

Also, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "getting in line."
