stormycrane3 said:Yeah, I get that, but honestly, I’m just not feeling great about going back to my own doctor to demand changes and ask for everything to be redone. Plus, the wait times would probably stretch out for several more months. 🤷 Is there any chance I could go there for an initial consultation and then request to have the Operation performed somewhere else? I have no idea if that's even a thing. 🤷

Of course not! I mean, would you ever actually perform a procedure just because someone else told you to?

I don't know, honestly, it didn't really matter to me at first where I'd go. I hadn't even given it much thought. My doctor basically made the call based on wait times; I actually wanted to stay in my hometown, but she warned me the wait for an initial consultation would be huge—and then there's the surgery itself. I figured it made sense since my insurance coverage was set to expire right around the timeframe she mentioned, so I decided to go private to get things moving quickly. I'm actually heading in for a consultation in just a few days. I feel a little silly about going back there now and asking to switch back to the public system and potentially canceling everything. I guess I was just thinking about finally resolving this breathing issue (hopefully!) as soon as possible, though if the opportunity is there, I’d love to do a little aesthetic work too. Basically, I'm going to insist on a nose job, though I'll admit I'm a bit nervous about what happens if the doctor gives me a weird look and says it can't be done xD... what do I do then? I really don't want to go through the whole surgical process twice. If they say no, I might just have to look for a private clinic 😛

Hi everyone

So, here is my (very positive) experience regarding my recent nose job.

I decided to go through with rhinoplasty, and since I can't stand overthinking or dragging things out, I headed to the Tončić Clinic for a consultation on Monday, February 24th.

My main criteria for picking a surgeon and a facility were sheer experience (this man has been practicing since 1987) and a top-tier, modern clinic. I didn't want to waste my time dealing with internet forums where everyone seems to have a grievance against some surgeon. I went with my gut.

The doctor received me very professionally, and (since I despise waiting) the surgery was scheduled just four days after that initial consultation, for Friday, February 28th.

Price: $3.75 (cash)

When Friday rolled around, the staff welcomed me with extreme kindness and professionalism; they did an amazing job making me feel at ease. I remained conscious under local anesthesia, aided by a phenomenal happy Cocktail 😍😍😍

They administered the Cocktail via IV. It was so potent that I wouldn't have even complained if a tank had run over me. A truly fantastic sensation. It was the first time in my life I’ve ever been high, and let me tell you—it was unforgettable. 🙂

During the procedure, I could hear everything and even comment on things. I felt so relaxed I almost wanted to kiss the whole staff. They used an internal technique, so there are no external stitches. I felt absolutely nothing.

Since I started with a larger nose, they shortened the bridge, reshaped the tip (reduced it), shaved down the hump, and even slimmed the sides slightly.

After the operation, I rested for a few hours and was then discharged to head home.

Three days later, I had the packing removed with zero pain whatsoever. I was lucky enough to have very minimal swelling (just some slight yellowing on my cheeks). There was no post-operative pain to speak of.

This Friday, one week later, I went in to have the cast removed. This time I wasn't on that "happy cocktail" of medication, but seeing the result made me want to kiss the doctor.😲

The nose is perfect. Even with the swelling, it doesn't look obvious at all. It has a fantastic shape that fits my face perfectly. My nose now has a natural, balanced look; people seeing me for the first time wouldn't even realize it's been corrected.

How the initial results look really depends on how prone a person is to swelling. The girl before me was bruised and swollen all over, and it was clear she would have to wait much longer for the true result to emerge once the inflammation subsided. In my case, everything settled into place immediately.

Bottom line: the doctor and the nurses are excellent. It was fast, painless, and a great experience overall.

If anyone wants to see before and after photos, feel free to shoot me a DM.

In case anyone is curious, the price they gave me was $2,400ish 🙂
good luck to everybody!!!

I wonder if that's a firm price or if there's some wiggle room?

I suppose that might be the set price for now... though I guess it probably varies quite a bit depending on the specific situation.

Alright. Well, I'm actually planning on seeing him too. Does he strictly take cash, or is there some kind of payment plan option available?

Well, I suppose you might be able to use a credit card, though I have this feeling that the price might end up being a little bit higher if you do.

Alright, let me know how it goes. Word on the street is people haven't been super happy with him lately because the changes to the nose end up being almost unnoticeable.

I'll definitely give you an update once my operation is over at 4:00.--
I guess he explained exactly what he plans to do, which was pretty much what I had envisioned for myself anyway, so I suppose we'll just have to wait and see how it all actually turns out in the end. :-)

I was wondering... how long does recovery usually take after an Operation? I’ve got mine scheduled for October 30th, and honestly, the timing is just terrible because of college—I really don't want to have to put a whole year on hold, you know? Has anyone here ever dealt with something similar? Like, is there any way to justify moving it up? (If it's less than a month away, though, I doubt it would work...)

I seriously need some advice here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s been about 13 days since my Operation and the skin on and around my nose has started peeling like crazy. I’m terrified to try any kind of scrub because everything still feels so fresh and raw. What should I be putting on my nose and that area to help, without accidentally causing a massive breakout or acne??????????
Also, once those stitches in my nose start falling out, will mine all still be right where they belong?

Hey everyone

A few days ago, I went in for a consultation with Dr. Veir over at the Arithera Clinic, and I’ve officially decided to go through with it. I took a look at some of the implants he’s worked with, and they are honestly stunning. I’ve been putting this operation off for over ten years because I was terrified, so I don't even know how I finally found the nerve to pull the trigger🤷
The thing is, I am deathly afraid of anesthesia. 😕
Even though I’ve been under general anesthesia before, the fear is still very much there. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of pre-op panic? My date is in two weeks... Any words of comfort or personal stories would really help right now.🙂

Go wherever your heart desires, but I’ve heard some pretty grim things about Veir, both through online discussions and word of mouth elsewhere.

Hey, don't panic, that's totally normal. Tomorrow marks exactly two months since my surgery and the tip of my nose is still peeling a little bit. An exfoliant won't hurt you, obviously, as long as you aren't applying any pain. Just stick to a basic moisturizer. Nothing greasy, though—you don't want to clog up your pores.
The day before yesterday, while I was cleaning my nose, a huge chunk of the stitches just came out. There’s actually just one tiny little piece left and then I'm done. It really just depends on how many you have.

Hey, so I could really use some advice here (maybe this sounds a bit silly, but I’m feeling stuck) — how do I tell my family and my boyfriend that I want to get nose surgery?? I’m 25, so it’s not like I need anyone's permission, but I still feel like I need to break the news to the people closest to me. They have absolutely no clue that I struggle with this insecurity; everyone always tells me how pretty I am, and honestly, nobody has ever said anything negative about my nose. But I’m not delusional, I can see it. My nose feels too wide, and from a profile view, it looks way too long and large... I just look off in photos and 😢 it doesn't feel like me. I know my mom will probably try to talk me out of it, and likely others too. Ultimately, I want to go through with it, but I have no idea how to bring it up to everyone. I’ve even considered telling them I need the operation for health reasons 😢 but I don't know... how did you all handle this?

In what sense is he "bad"? Does he perform poorly, or is it something else? I’ve been in for two consultations with him and he seems perfectly fine to me. He doesn't overpromise anything; he just tells me how things are and how they're going to be, which I appreciated. Please tell me exactly what people are saying about him. Thanks.

At the end of the day, this is your decision and yours alone—nobody else has a say unless you specifically ask for their opinion. That being said, since it sounds like there might be some underlying psychological hesitation, it might be a good idea to work through those feelings first. You wouldn't want to end up disappointed with the results, especially since the outcome depends entirely on your unique anatomy. You can't force every material to do everything perfectly.

So here I am 😁 😁 😁 I finally went through with my septorhinoplasty at the Rijeka University Hospital Center! I was scheduled for March 4th, but since my doctor, Kujundžić, wasn't in the hospital those days, I didn't get operated on until March 10th once he was back 🙂
Right before I woke up, they gave me something for nausea (since I usually struggle with motion sickness), so that part was actually smooth sailing. No real pain either—I just took one Voltaren because my gums were feeling sensitive and some Tylenol for a fever I had on day three. On day three, the swelling was absolutely insane, but I finally made it home today and I'm already looking less yellow this evening. I was seriously, seriously intense about using ice (that gel pack from CVS $6.00 is top-tier); while that was cooling down, I’d rotate in cold water compresses and chamomile tea wraps! Trust me, it is totally worth the hassle! As for the nasal packing... what can I say? It was gentle enough, but the sensation is just gross. I'm getting this metal splint removed next Wednesday, so I'll let you guys know how everything looks! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Hey, which CVS gel pack were you using? I have my surgery coming up in about a month, so I want to be prepared. Thanks!
