I’ve been wondering about those Bose SoundLink speakers. I actually really dig them! The sound quality has always been solid in my book, but are they actually any good? Or am I just kidding myself? Is there something better out there that hits that same sweet spot? If so, what should I be looking at?

By the way, I’m not really looking for a 2.1, 5.1, or 7.1 setup—unless we're talking about a subwoofer that doesn't take up half my desk while still delivering a decent kick.

They’d be too small for me. You can't get decent sound out of something that tiny.
Think about any musical instrument—even a violin is larger than that.
Size isn't everything, but it's fair to say bigger speakers and cabinets generally perform better.
Sure, you can have small speakers, but if you want actual bass, you need more volume. That's how you actually hear the music.

Look, at the end of the day, we’re basically talking about glorified laptop speakers here... they're way too overpriced—especially when you consider that for the exact same amount of cash, you could just grab a decent 2.1 system like this one:

Look, I’m not interested in some garbage setup where you've got crappy speakers paired with a massive subwoofer. Honestly? I don't even care about the sub. I just want high-quality speakers!

Wait, hold on! If you're telling me these aren't any good, then what on earth qualifies as "good"??

They’re definitely overpriced, and since those satellites are basically just single-driver plastic trinkets, you end up with mediocre sound quality. I don't know what kind of budget you're working with, but these Genius speakers are actually solid; considering the price point, they really don't have much competition in that bracket, for sure.☕😉

Thanks! By the way, do you happen to know if it's easy to flip this volume setting? It’s such a pain when you can't get it turned around properly.

I actually own a pair of these, and I have to say, I’m quite happy with them. They aren't half bad at all...

Look, I’ve already said it—I am absolutely not doing 2.1!
