Discussion regarding IP cameras and surveillance setups. 😁

I recently downloaded a rather clever little application from the Google Play Store called IP Webcam. It effectively transformed my Samsung Galaxy S series device into a functional security camera. The sole drawbackβ€”if one can call it thatβ€”is that I am only able to view the live feed when I am connected to the exact same network as the phone itself; essentially, you cannot use it to monitor your home while you are away, say, on vacation in Florida, unless you navigate the somewhat tedious process of enabling port forwarding on your router.

This particular gadget comes packed with all sorts of features: http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solu...m-cloud-camera. My only hesitation is the costβ€”it sits at roughly $667. I haven't delved too deeply into the various price points on the market, so I find myself wondering if anyone knows of a more budget-friendly alternative that doesn't sacrifice decent quality.

Hehβ€”interesting enough, I supposeβ€”but it’s far too pricey and just plain too bulky.πŸ˜›
