Miami might run into some serious trouble against the Grizzlies tonight. I'm looking at an 8.5 spread, which feels like plenty of cushion to me. Between Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph, they should absolutely dominate the boards. On offense, they’ll be sprinting toward the buffet. Tony Allen is an elite defender; he'll likely shadow either Dwyane Wade or LeBron James, depending on who's catching fire. While Miami plays great at home, my gut says Memphis walks away with a respectful win, maybe by a margin of 3 or 4 points.

Look, since they got absolutely embarrassed by over 30 points in their last matchup—yeah, I know, it was last season, whatever—they’ve definitely got plenty of motivation 🙂

But let's be real, Rudy isn't hitting 17 🙂

Cleveland is heading into this one without Irving or Parker. How does that change the math?

The lottery gave me 7.5 on Utah vs. Golden State, so I took the action, but... 😢 one more point would have done the trick.

Then again, following the usual logic—whereby games take on a completely different shape than what we predicted on our betting slips—it looks like Utah is going to run wild here. 🤷 Plus, I suppose it might finally be time for Golden State to get a win for once. Well, good luck to us all.

So, if 1 hits, does that mean we win with more than an 8.5 point spread? And if 2 happens, that means winning with less than 8.5? Am I reading this right?

I'm totally with you on this. I'm expecting a bit of a sluggish game tonight; that grind against OKC definitely took its toll on the Heat, especially Wade, who doesn't look 100% fit. Memphis could easily pull off an upset tonight. For now, I've got Memphis at 9.5 based on what I saw on DraftKings.😁

In my book, Detroit is an incredibly talented squad, and if you ask me, that lackluster spread is nothing more than a hangover from their disastrous start to the season (4-20). But look at the trajectory lately—they’ve been playing lights out, picking up three straight wins and taking five of their last six. They’ve faced Atlanta twice this season, splitting the series 1-1. What’s interesting here is the scoring gap; they scraped by with an 86-85 win, but dropped a 107-101 decision—though that second one only went down after overtime (I think it was tied 87-87 in regulation). I’m also anticipating a low-scoring grindhouse type of game, which means there won't be much opportunity for a team like Atlanta to just run away with it and blow the doors off.

Just caught the Lakers game tonight... (and somehow ended up watching the Texas Rangers vs. Dodgers MLB matchup too)
I mean, I don't think Houston has much of a shot out in LA—these guys rarely drop games at home, honestly. Looking at the roster, they seem pretty much complete right now, and since they're just fundamentally stronger, I don't see any massive upsets coming my way...

Dallas is heading into tonight's matchup against Portland without Luka, Delonte West, or their backup center from Memphis
