You've got Charlize Theron leading the charge, along with that short, stout kid from "Queen Bees"... not the main chubby one, but his little buddy...

Caught it last night, and honestly, it was just what I needed...

Besides all those classic American themes, it really dives deep into growing up, feeling lonely, how everything eventually fades away...

How good is it, really?

I find myself still drawn to it.

Look, the picture quality is fine enough (it's a BDRip) and Charlize Theron is gorgeous—curves and all—but the movie itself is just bad. It’s the same old tired story, and Jason Reitman follows it like a lost puppy; everything feels formulaic and full of clichés...
I wasn't exactly thrilled with Jennifer's Body, and now, after sitting through Young Adult, I can safely say this one is just plain terrible... 🙏

I wasn't really feeling this movie as a whole, but Charlize was incredible as Mavis, this divorced alcoholic in her thirties. What really got me was that vacant stare she had—it perfectly captured how detached she is from the "adult" world. For her, life is just a cycle of drinking all night and stumbling around the house all day. She’s so utterly lost that I actually had to pause the film three times because the cringe was just too much... 🤦

My main gripe is that Mavis is the only character with any actual depth, and honestly, those static shots when she's alone did a great job of conveying her depression...

I wouldn't call this a heartwarming tale by any means, but it feels like there's a bit of an optimistic undertone, like finally making peace with your past is the only way to actually move forward... 🤷

The movie's alright. It’s a solid look at how messy life gets when you hit your late thirties—not much else to say there. It didn't spell everything out, but honestly, it said just enough.

Look, I’ll be the first to admit it—the movie leans way too hard on clichés and you can see the plot coming from a mile away, but honestly? It’s not half bad. Plus, Charlize is absolutely killing it.
For a thirty-something who basically survives on Coca-Cola for breakfast, hits the drive-thru for lunch, washes it all down with whiskey at night, and spends her entire existence nursing a hangover, she looks incredible.😍

The movie was alright, I guess. Just something to kill time with.

The movie feels a little rough around the edges, almost like it was put together on the fly, but there’s a certain creative spark there that keeps it interesting... Honestly, the biggest draw is just getting to see Charlize looking so unpolished and disheveled. 😂

There’s just one thing I can't quite wrap my head around while watching—why didn't they give her a cigarette? Usually, when you have a character this messy, the filmmakers lean hard into the synthetic stuff, you know, the constant cocaine sniffing and all that, but even that is missing here. It feels like the character loses a bit of that gritty, lived-in edge because of it.

I just don't get how old these people are supposed to be.

On one hand, she seems way too young to have already written something like 12 books, but then again, she looks a bit too old to be out drinking in the woods with some former classmate. 🤷

Top-tier drama. Charlize Theron absolutely crushed it, as per usual. Definitely her best role yet.
