Keith Moore21 said:So, I took a gamble on the Denver -8.5 spread and played the Portland game too...
Look, I already laid it all out for Denver, Play—and honestly, it’s pretty straightforward. You just can't expect Sacramento's defense to hold up against an offensive powerhouse like Denver... it's just not happening. Plus, let's be real, these guys are absolutely terrible on the road—they're sitting at a measly 4-19 away from home. It's kind of painful to watch, really.
As for Portland—honestly, they kind of need to pull a win out of their hats here. It’s probably their best shot at picking up a victory, especially since they're facing New Orleans, and let's be real, that Pelicans squad is looking pretty banged up right now. They're missing guys like Okafor, Smith, and Gordon, plus Landry will likely be out too—though I guess Ariza might actually suit up. Since Portland is playing at home, maybe—just maybe—they'll finally show up and actually play some decent basketball for once. 😁
Denver, I’m coming for you. 🙂 🙂
Hey, it's wiredcanyon39.
So, looking at the Pacers vs. Hawks matchup—it’s set for 1:00 AM—and the odds are looking pretty interesting if you're tracking the lines. You've got Indiana sitting at around 1.65 to take the win, while Atlanta is coming in as the underdog at 2.30. There's also some movement on the spreads and totals, maybe hovering around that 1.50 to 2.00 range depending on which book you're checking. I guess it’s one of those games where you have to decide if the favorites can actually hold steady or if we're in for an upset. Just my two cents, though—definitely nothing set in stone.
So, looking at the matchup between Charlotte and Orlando this Wednesday at 1:00 AM—it’s a bit of a weird one, I guess. The odds are sitting at 4.00 for Charlotte to pull off the upset, while Orlando is heavily favored at 1.15. If you're feeling spicy and want to bet on the underdog, you're looking at a 17.0 payout, which sounds massive, but... well, let's just say it's a long shot. Personally, I think Orlando's got the edge here, but hey, anything can happen in the league once the clock starts ticking.
So, looking at the matchup between the Celtics and the Rockets this Wednesday morning—around 1:30 AM if you're pulling an all-nighter like me—the oddsmakers have Boston sitting as pretty heavy favorites at 1.55. Honestly, I guess that makes sense given how they've been playing lately, though the Rockets coming in at 2.50 isn't exactly a total long shot... maybe? If you're feeling spicy and want to bet on Houston, the payout sits at 15.0, which is obviously wild, while a draw—if we were playing by different rules—would be around 2.20. Just my two cents, but yeah, the money is definitely leaning toward Boston here.
So, looking at the Detroit Pistons vs. L.A. Lakers matchup coming up Wednesday at 1:30 AM—and yeah, I know, that’s an ungodly hour for anyone living on the East Coast—we've got some interesting numbers on the board. The odds are sitting at 2.60 for a Pistons upset, 15.0 for a total blowout, 1.50 for the Lakers to win, and then 2.25 / 1.40 on the spreads. Honestly? It feels like the books are leaning pretty heavily toward the Lakers here. I mean, if you look at the 1.50 line, they’re basically the favorites by a landslide. I guess it makes sense—the Lakers usually have that star power—but man, those Pistons odds at 2.60 are tempting if you think Detroit might actually show some grit tonight. I don't know, maybe I'm just being optimistic, but I wouldn't count them out entirely just yet. It’s probably going to be a grind, though. Just my two cents.
So, I was looking at the lines for the Miami Heat vs. New Jersey Nets matchup tomorrow morning—it’s an early one, around 1:30 AM—and man, the odds are looking pretty wild. The Heat are sitting as massive favorites at 1.10, which basically means everyone expects them to run away with it... though, you know how these things go. The Nets are the huge underdogs here at 18.0, which feels like a bit of a stretch, even if they are struggling. Then you've got the draw priced at 6.80 and some other options hovering around 1.05 and 5.00. It's definitely one of those games where you're staring at the spread wondering if the underdog might actually pull a miracle out of their hat, but honestly? I guess the smart money is just leaning heavily toward Miami. Just another crazy night of hoops, I suppose.
So, I was looking at the lines for the Dallas vs. New York matchup coming up Wednesday morning—it's an early one, like 2:30 AM, so good luck to anyone actually watching that live—and the numbers are looking pretty interesting. The moneyline sits at 1.75 for Dallas and 2.15 for New York, which feels... I don't know, maybe a little tight? If you're looking at the spreads or the totals, things are hovering around that 1.55 to 1.85 range. It looks like the oddsmakers are leaning toward Dallas being the favorite, but honestly, with these two teams, anything could happen. It’s probably going to be a grind. Just my two cents, though—definitely not financial advice or anything. Just staring at the board and wondering if the favorites can actually hold up this time.

Thanks to the guys for the suggestions, though I guess my money is on Dallas and Williams being the best bets here

Andrew Bynum, Dirk Nowitzki, Deron Williams, Dwyane Wade, and Jeremy Lin—these are the guys I’m looking at.
On the flip side, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony, and Amar'e Stoudemire—they just don't move the needle for me right now.
The Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Orlando Magic.
I'll be back later with the final draft picks and a much more granular breakdown of the numbers. ☕
Aside from that, if you're looking for a solid play, I highly recommend backing Arsenal FC to win 1-2 against AC Milan at 2.20 odds.

I'm done talking NBA today. Not happening. Let's stick to football and hockey. 👍

Indiana vs. Atlanta 1 1.65 Indiana is basically just waiting on Jeff Foster to show up. Meanwhile, Atlanta is dealing with a massive injury bug—Horford, Collins, and Joe Johnson are all sidelined, plus there's some doubt about whether Green and McGrady will suit up. Indiana already took care of business against them earlier this season with an 11-point win. They're sitting pretty at home with an 11-4 record. I expect the odds to drop soon, so grab them while you can. 😁

How long is the injury list for those guys?
They took down the Hawks and OKC in their last two outings, so I’m fairly certain they were playing without those players then, too. Indiana just got hammered by 20 against Chicago. Sure, they had a six-game winning streak right before that, but let’s be honest: two of those wins were against the Hornets and the Bobcats. As soon as they run into a real contender, they start looking shaky. Personally, I wouldn't touch the moneyline here if I were you.

With Germany offering Josh Smith at those -18+ odds... it’s certainly an enticing proposition.

Hey everyone 😉
Boston vs. Houston
Boston is on a tear right now. They’ve swept their last four. Rondo is out there putting up triple-doubles like it's nothing, Pierce is playing his usual high-level game, and even Garnett is looking solid. Houston is facing five straight road games, so I don't see them giving Boston much trouble.
My pick: Boston
Charlotte vs. Orlando
Not much to dissect here. Orlando should take this one. They barely scraped by Toronto last night, but against a Charlotte defense that's practically non-existent, Howard and the crew should have a field day.
My pick: Orlando
Detroit vs. LA
Detroit is sitting on three straight home games, including today against LA. They get two days of rest after this, so they can show up at full strength, but I still think LA pulls it off behind Kobe. Sure, LA's road record is mediocre at 6-12, but Detroit isn't exactly dominant at home either with a 9-11 stretch. Detroit's interior defense is a sieve—they're giving up about 76 shots in the paint per game—so I expect LA to exploit that.
My pick: LA (take it twice)
Dwight Howard over 22.5
Dwight against a bad defense? We all know how that story ends. You could tell from last night that he's stopped messing around and is actually playing serious ball. He clears this line easily.

They took a tough loss last night, but honestly? Not a huge shocker. I'm expecting them to actually wake up and show up properly for this one tonight.
Indiana isn't dealing with any major injury drama, whereas the Hawks are basically a walking hospital ward at this point—they can't stay consistent for more than five minutes.
I've got a feeling Indiana is gonna come out swinging tonight...🙂

Detroit - Lal ki2 1,45
8/10
The Lakers are looking seriously dialed in lately—I mean, that performance against the Heat was something else, right? They’ve got this momentum going. Now, looking at Detroit, they’re always such a tricky matchup for betting; they’re basically the definition of a wildcard because if they aren't the favorites, they'll find a way to pull off an upset, but if they are, they usually just cruise through. I guess my gut feeling is that Gasol and Bynum are going to absolutely dominate the paint tonight. And honestly, if Kobe plays even half as well as he did against Miami, I don't even want to think about who on the Detroit roster is supposed to go up against him. It's gonna be a massacre.
So, looking at the Dallas vs. New York Knicks matchup... I've got the Knicks sitting at around -150, which feels like a pretty solid play to me if you're looking for a quick win. I mean, maybe I'm overthinking it, but I guess there's some decent value there. Just my two cents, though.
6/10
New York is playing some seriously flashy ball right now, but I don't know, it feels like Lin is starting to lose his edge. He’s making more mistakes lately, and I guess you could say his time at the top might be winding down. The Knicks have these massive ball-hog types in the lineup right now, and honestly, they just can't seem to close out games. Plus, Amare isn't showing up on the defensive end at all, and since the other team knows exactly how to exploit that, things could get pretty ugly under the rim. Between dealing with guys like Terry and Kidd, it's probably going to be a long night for them—and man, if they're heading into a matchup against Texas, that's just asking for trouble. It feels like way too much for New York to handle.
I’m thinking Orlando might actually clear that 98.5 mark, maybe even hitting 1.85 if things go our way. I guess it's a bit of a gamble, but I'm feeling it.
6/10
Man, Howard is absolutely tearing it up right now. I guess he’s probably trying to put up these massive numbers just to bait someone into a trade—because when he’s playing like this, there is zero stopping him. Plus, you've got Charlotte over there with one of the absolute worst defenses in the league, especially when it comes to protecting the paint. Once Howard starts slicing through the middle, he’s going to open up so much space for his shooters tonight. And honestly, we all know how lethal those guys can be when they get an open look.
I was looking at the spread for the Indy to Atlanta game, and honestly, I’m thinking maybe a $1.50 line is actually worth a shot? I don't know, I might be totally off base here, but it feels like one of those spots where you could grab some value if you're feeling gutsy. Just my two cents, though.
5/10
If I’m remembering things right, Indiana is looking pretty solid lately—they actually pulled off five straight wins before that hiccup yesterday. It’s been a really nice little surprise for everyone watching the Eastern Conference, and honestly, they might just turn things up a notch once the playoffs roll around. They look especially dangerous playing at home, too. I wouldn't be surprised if they're itching to get some payback against Atlanta after that loss a couple of weeks back, especially since the Hawks have been dealing with such a brutal run of injuries.
March 6, 2012 — G/F — Jerry Stackhouse — Illness — "?" Tuesday vs. Indiana
March 6, 2012 — Joe Johnson (G/F) is looking pretty shaky with that knee issue. Honestly, he’s probably a no-go for Tuesday's matchup against the Pacers, and I wouldn't hold my breath for him showing up Wednesday against the Heat either. It's looking doubtful.
So, I just caught wind that Tracy McGrady tweaked his knee during the last game. Honestly, it’s looking pretty rough—he's probably going to be a huge question mark for the matchup against Indiana this Tuesday. I mean, you never know with these things, but man, it’s a tough break. Hopefully, he can bounce back fast, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the training staff handles it.

Detroit vs LA
Since Detroit lets in a ton of shots in the paint—we're talking around 76 per game—I really think LA is going to feast on that and punish them.
My pick: LA x2
Hey man, I think you totally misread that stat about the 76 shots in the paint.
The way I see it, Detroit is actually one of those squads that limits opponents better than anyone else, giving up an average of only about 76.2 shots per game, so it looks like you might have just flipped the meaning of that number around. 🤔
#598 ·
Nicholas Chase34 said:Look, those numbers you pulled for the 76 field goal attempts are way off.
The Detroit Pistons are actually the team that allows the fewest shots per game (averaging about 76.2), which is probably what that stat was referring to. You just read it completely backwards. 🤔
🙂Yeah, my bad. I phrased that poorly. I meant to say whether that number of attempts would be enough to pull off a win for LA.

Duel:
Amare Stoudemire vs Pau Gasol, tip: Pau Gasol @ 2.0 SS
What can I even say about this matchup? It’s pretty wild because Amare is surrounded by a massive crowd of shooters—we're talking Melo, Lin, J.R. Smith, Shumpert, and you can't just overlook guys like Chandler and Novak either. Because there's so much offensive traffic, he's going to have a really tough time finding his rhythm for shots; he might get some pick-and-rolls going with one of the playmakers, maybe Davis or Lin, but honestly, the competition for touches in that offense is just too high. His scoring average is likely to stay pretty flat since he'll constantly be fighting for space. When Dallas and the Knicks faced off about twenty days ago, Amare only managed to take 10 shots, which was enough for 11 points. I should mention that Melo wasn't even in that game, and he's definitely going to be out there tonight cranking out 15+ shots easily. On the flip side, Gasol is sliding a little bit in terms of recent form, averaging about 13.7 points over his last three games, though his five-game average sits at 17.4 PPG. This feels like the perfect setup for him to find his groove again because the matchup is just right. Detroit has been known over the last couple of seasons for having a pretty leaky defense in the paint, especially against power forwards. They've improved a tiny bit this year, but barely. Their biggest issue is still defending the pick-and-roll and post-up plays, and when it comes to spot-up shooting, they’re basically bottom-tier in the league (#29). Gasol should be able to exploit that weak post-up defense, especially since he's actually one of the better players in the league when it comes to that specific part of the game. Throw in a few pick-and-rolls and some cuts, and he should have plenty to work with to come out on top in this duel. ☕
Looking at the rest of the board, I'm really feeling: Charlotte vs Orlando, tip: under 188.5, mainly because Orlando tends to trend toward the under whenever they're playing on the second night of a back-to-back (they're 4-10 in those situations).
Amare Stoudemire vs Pau Gasol, tip: Pau Gasol @ 2.0 SS
What can I even say about this matchup? It’s pretty wild because Amare is surrounded by a massive crowd of shooters—we're talking Melo, Lin, J.R.
