Watch out on this matchup. Chandler’s complaining about some hand pain, so he might end up seeing less floor time than usual.

I’m putting together a parlay: Dirk Nowitzki, Dwight Howard, and Kevin Garnett to go over, plus some hockey from the Detroit Red Wings and a Van Persie goal. I’ve got two tickets running. Seems like at least one of them should hit

Played one against the Mavs, Dallas, and Lakers... Dirk had more minutes than D-Will
And for the other, first three quarters plus Cudi and Melo had more...

Looks like nobody’s betting on the Celtics today. Is there some kind of catch I'm missing?

Just wanted to check in with you guys for a second. I'm trying to wrap my head around this, but there are so many heavy hitters in the mix. 🤷
Dallas, Boston, Indiana, L.A., Miami, Orlando... who do you think is going to fall short? 😁

stormytiger3 said:I figured I’d pop in here and check the temperature on you guys... basically, if you had to cut one of these teams from your list, which would it be? Honestly, I'm a bit lost because they all look like heavy favorites right now. 🤷
Dallas, Boston, Indiana, L.A., Miami, Orlando—who's gonna choke? 😁

I don't know, Boston looks a little shaky to me; if Rondo isn't playing at his absolute best, they could easily blow it. As for the Heat and Orlando, the odds are just way too low to touch in the NBA—maybe play a spread or go over the total, but straight up? No thanks. I guess those other three should probably pull through. 😉

Thanks 🙂

BetMGM
Odds: 1.85
Pick: Deron Williams over 23.5

Deron Williams dropped 57 points once this season, and honestly, he's been heating up big time over the last month. His average sits at 22.5, but you have to note he actually averages closer to 23.9 when playing on the road. Two reasons I’m taking this: first, without Brook Lopez in the lineup, Deron is definitely going to hunt for more shots. Second, Miami has the worst point guard defense in the league right now—Wade might step up, but his defense isn't exactly elite, and even if he plays, he's dealing with that recent concussion scare. I don't see anyone else leading the charge for the Nets tonight, especially with Bosh returning to the paint 😍().

Out of all those heavy hitter matchups, I’ve settled on these two... Howard is playing so well right now—he's just physically imposing and dominates everything near the rim. Even the home team is going to have a hell of a time slowing him down. His verticality isn't his strongest suit, though—he's definitely among the lower tier when it comes to jumping—so I’m expecting at least 5 or 6 offensive rebounds from him. As for my second pick, I'm going with the Lakers over the Pistons. They just seem to have more depth and talent on paper, especially with Kobe coming off that All-Star break looking sharp. Plus, having Bynum & Gasol working the paint gives them such a massive advantage inside... I really think the Lakers pull this one out by more than 5 points.

Good luck everyone, hope you enjoy whatever games you're watching tonight!

Monroe G. (Det) (-17,5+) 1 1,85

The Lakers, along with Memphis and Portland, are basically killing it at defending the center position right now—only giving up about 13.1 points per game there... http://www.hoopsstats.com/basketball.../12/10/pts/1-1
According to the stats on hoopsstats, the Lakers are actually outperforming Portland, Memphis, Orlando, San Antonio, and New York—all teams where Monroe hasn't quite hit his betting line yet. Here’s how he did against them:
Orlando - 10p, Portland - 10p, NY (two games) - 15p and 13p, SA - 4p, and Memphis - 14p.
He played the Lakers twice last season—dropped 4 in the first one and 14 in the second. Really hoping Bynum and that Lakers defense can shut him down so he stays under the line...

Orlando's looking at a 20-point spread.
Given how things are trending, there's no way Howard sees more than 25 minutes of action.
I usually bet him under, but today I'm leaning over...🙄

With how things are going, I don't see Howard getting even 25 minutes on the floor today.
I've mostly been betting the under on him—but honestly, today I'm leaning toward the over...🙄

Man, this is brutal. They aren't even playing through him—they're just chucking long-range shots and most of them are actually falling.🙂

Nah, Howard is definitely hitting the over. He's gotta, right? haha

I honestly don't think any of these overtime hours are doing us any favors... nothing seems to be working out in our favor right now.

Brian Barrett5 said:It’s honestly painful to watch. They aren't actually playing the game; they just spam long-range shots and pray that most of them happen to fall in.🙂

Yeah.🙂

The worst part is how the strategy shifted just because he hit a streak of overs. Now I’m sitting here thinking, "There's no way this one doesn't go over," and—of course—I was wrong. Typical.

Betting the over on him is a losing game. It’s purely a matter of his lack of free throw attempts, combined with the rest of the squad being obsessed with hunting for three-pointers. But hey, lesson learned for next time.🤷

Here’s Charlotte at 5. Maybe now they'll actually start hitting her with some balls.

Honestly, Shaq was a much better free throw shooter than Howard... it’s a sad truth, but it's true enough.

13 points for Howard in the final stretch—honestly, I find that almost impossible to believe

13 isn't even close to being in the top three.
