Sean Sullivan87 said:Look at Detroit. It’s an absolute disaster. I've been watching one game every single night since the season kicked off, and I can't tell if it's just me or if everyone else is noticing this too, but the quality of the NBA seems to have plummeted. It barely even feels like basketball anymore. There are nights where I'll catch a game—honestly, I don't even know who's playing—and for four straight minutes, there isn't a single basket made. It’s absurd. These are elite players, guys pulling in $10 million a year, and yet... ugh, now Detroit is driving me crazy.🙂 uu now these Detroit guys are getting on my nerves

Just look at how this season has unfolded and you'll see what I mean. They're dealing with a brutal schedule and practically zero preseason prep time.

Looks like a total trap to me...
NO-Utah Jazz ...
The Hornets are missing basically their entire roster, yet somehow the line is sitting at Utah Jazz +5.5 @ 1.980 Pinnacle per the bookies. It's ridiculous.

Memphis - Utah
Utah Utah +5.5 @ 1.980 Pinnacle 6/10

The first meeting between these two squads this season ended with a Utah win, 94-85.
In my estimation, the Utah Jazz hold the advantage here because they possess a deeper rotation of players capable of attacking the rim effectively, whereas Memphis finds themselves somewhat limited in that department due to the absence of Zach Randolph.
image

As we can observe, Utah managed to secure a significant 16-point advantage in the paint, which is quite a substantial margin.
Furthermore, the Utah Jazz have been defending the interior quite well this season (#3 in the league), allowing opponents an average of just 20.8 attempts at 67.4% accuracy.
The sole drawback is that Utah tends to struggle more when playing on the road; otherwise, I believe they would take this game outright. Personally, I feel the specific edge that Utah holds should be more than sufficient to cover the spread. 🤷

Bravo!! That was a top-tier pick.

Detroit, screw you ☕

I mean, maybe Aguilar goes under 13.5 today... he doesn't really burn through many possessions anyway, and since I’m expecting a total blowout against the Bobcats, he might end up with pretty limited minutes ☕

First bet:
New Orleans vs. Utah
Looking at the Utah spread at -3.5 with those 1.85 odds, I’m feeling pretty good about this one—definitely a solid SS pick for me, giving it an 8/10.
The Jazz are sitting at a -9.5 spread with the odds at 3.30, and honestly, looking at my SS model, I’m feeling pretty skeptical about this one—I'd give it maybe a 2/10 chance of hitting.

It’s basically the same situation we saw yesterday with Memphis—New Orleans just doesn't have anyone on the roster right now who can actually attack the rim or pick up those easy buckets in the paint. Their rotation feels incredibly thin at the moment, especially since they're dealing with a massive chunk of their key guys being sidelined with injuries, including Gordon, Jack, Landry, Smith, and Kaman.
This was their first time going head-to-head, and Utah managed to pull off a 94-90 win over New Orleans.
image

It looks like the New Orleans guys really struggled to attack the rim tonight; they only managed eight attempts in the paint despite being perfect from that close range, but the bigger issue was how much they leaned on the perimeter shot. Honestly, if it wasn't for the solid work from Jack, Kaman, and Smith keeping things relatively close, we probably would have been looking at a total blowout.
Since the New Orleans roster is looking pretty thin right now, I honestly don't see how they're going to hold their own against a Jazz team that's absolutely rolling. To me, this whole matchup feels like a total gift, and I’m definitely looking to grab both sides of it if possible. Even though Utah is dealing with that back-to-back situation, a realistic handicap should be at least 6.5 given how lopsided things look. Pinnacle actually has the line offline at the moment, and honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if they bring it back around at 5.5. ☕

Memphis choked 🤦 and I'm sitting here with nothing to show for it. At this rate, the bookies won't even look my way until at least March. 😢

The lines just dropped on Summit, too—the -3.5 is sitting at 1.9!

Hey there, fellow NBA junkies. I’m usually just lurking in the shadows here, but today I actually feel like putting some of my hard-earned cash on the Wolves. Right now, Summit is sitting at +5.5 and a moneyline of 2.9, which honestly doesn't look half bad to me, especially since the Magic have been needing like 15+ threes lately just to stay competitive against anyone even remotely decent 🙄
The Wolves are a legit squad that can give anybody trouble, and since they're currently stuck in a three-game losing streak, I'm guessing they'll be playing with a massive chip on their shoulder tonight. Plus, they’re 6-5 on the road, which is pretty solid if you ask me.

Orlando is 9-6 at home, so they aren't exactly invincible tonight, but hey, feel free to try and talk me out of it 🙂

I might play devil's advocate here for a second:
Orlando has actually been covering the spread in their last six straight matchups against them. ☕

Same story as yesterday with Memphis—New Orleans just doesn't have anyone capable of attacking the rim or getting easy buckets inside. Their roster is feeling pretty thin right now. Key player. Injured list: Gordon, Jack, Landry, Smith. Kaman).
First time they've faced off: Utah - New Orleans, 94-90.

New Orleans really struggled to attack the paint—only 8 attempts despite being perfect from there. But more importantly, they leaned way too hard on the perimeter. Jack, Kaman, and Smith kept things relatively close; without them, this would've been a total blowout.
With the New Orleans roster looking this thin, I don't see how they stand a chance against the momentum the Jazz have right now. This looks like a gift to me, and I’m taking both sides. Honestly, even with Utah on a back-to-back, the spread should be at least 6.5 given how lopsided this matchup is. Summit has it offline for now, but I wouldn't be surprised if they bring it back at 5.5. ☕

Gotta quote this. 🙄

Yeah, true, but you also gotta look at the fact that the Wolves have basically been trash the last few years. I mean, they only scraped together 17 wins all last season, and now they're already sitting at 13 out of 28 games. 🤷

🤣 I'm still actually debating whether I should even list him on the injury report or not... because honestly, look at how New Orleans is playing right now, they're treating Kaman like he's some kind of superstar, and he even dropped 14 points against Utah (shooting 6-7 from the field) 😛

You sold me on Utah. 😁

Just tell me which of the other two you'd grab first. Honestly, Dallas looks better to me. I hate betting huge spreads; when a team is up by a ton, they tend to coast in the fourth quarter and end up failing to cover the spread anyway.

But hey, just tell me which of those other two you’d grab first if you were in my shoes? Honestly, I’m leaning toward Dallas myself, mostly because I can't stand betting those massive spreads; there's always that risk where a team up by a ton starts coasting in the fourth quarter and ends up failing to cover the spread even if they still win the game.

I'm pretty torn on picking one of them, both are sitting right there on my radar, though I'd give Philly a slight edge, plus I'm thinking about throwing some action on the over for the Dallas - LA Clippers game.

The thing that really caught my eye from the rest of the slate and is definitely going on my ticket is the under 200.5 for the Milwaukee - Miami Heat matchup, since that line feels at least five points higher than it should be, so I'm expecting the odds on the under to drop soon.
The Heat are definitely going to be looking for revenge after those two losses, and their only real path to victory is going to be locking things down on defense. 🤷

Let’s be real—Kaman is an elite center, easily a double-double average guy.
The problem is he can't stay healthy—and his best performances don't mean much when you factor in the constant roster shuffling and the public begging for any team to pick him up.

SS absolutely crushed the under for Milwaukee - Miami within ten minutes of the lines even opening up. 🙂

I'm currently sniffing out a potential X @ 14,0 for the Golden State - Phoenix game, mostly because their playing styles clash so much that I wouldn't be shocked at all if we see that hit.
