Your best bet would be to grab an HD 6950 1GB

You can find one at Micro Center for about $510.

By the way, you should sell those 2x1GB sticks of RAM and pick up a 2x2 GB kit instead.

Yeah, honestly, I'm a bit short on cash right now... I saw these over at Micro Center, but I'm not really sure how much of a difference there actually is between them (I just don't have the budget for a 6950 right now).

Hey guys,
I’m looking to grab a graphics card that’s actually decent enough to run Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
but I honestly don't know the first thing about this stuff... so help a guy out. Right now, I'm stuck with some crappy 128 MB integrated graphics (if you can even call it that). The main issue is that I'm not sure if my motherboard even has a slot for a dedicated card. I think it's called PCI-Express or something, but I can't be sure...
Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what kind of card I should buy for this rig. Here's the breakdown of what I'm running:
Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
Model: 09E0h
Chipset: Intel i915P/i915G
southbridge: intel 82801GB (ICH6)
LPCIO: SMSC

Memory
Type:ddr2 Channels😁ual

Just hit me up in a DM or whatever, just let me know what to do...

It’s looking a bit pricey for me, especially once I factor in shipping costs. Since I'm not living right here in Washington, D.C., those extra fees from an Utrina-based seller really drive the total price up...

Look, just download Speccy, install it, and get it running. Once it finishes loading everything up, grab a screenshot and post it right here.

Hey everyone, I could use a little guidance here.
Here’s the breakdown of my current rig:
CPU - Intel quad Q9300 2.5
RAM - 2*2GB Mushkin DDR2 1066MHz
Motherboard - Abit IX38 Quad GT
PSU - Hyper 450
Display setup - 1080p resolution on a 42-inch LCD TV
Budget - up to $1400 $500
I was previously running an ATI 4870 with 512MB of GDDR5, but it finally bit the dust and died on me.
I'm currently weighing my options between a GTX 460 or an ATI 5770. I'm fully aware that the NVIDIA card is technically superior, but they seem to be proving quite elusive lately. I have one hard rule, though: I refuse to settle for anything less than 1GB of GDDR5 memory.

Best regards,

How is it a Best Buy? Because it’s $67 more expensive? 🙄

Hmm...

Interesting. I've no idea how you arrived at those numbers. $67 More. By my math, that's it. $21 It's cheaper. But hey, even the best deserve a cut, right?

The provided link appears to be a broken or invalid URL. It does not lead to any accessible content.

By the way, I haven't found a single game where the 560 Hawk outperforms the 570 Twin Froz 2 OC II.

You posted this link, showing the card at $559. Compared to that same card, I listed this one before your first post
My link:
Price: 1,$162

By my count, that's about $67 ☕

Explain that math to me.

Every time I click that link, it just shows a Zotac 560 instead of that $250 price tag.🤷

The link is being temperamental, to say the least. Right now, it’s showing up as $0.50, so I almost jokingly asked you guys to just share whatever you're using instead.

Anyway, here is a more reliable link, hopefully:

What kind of graphics card works with this motherboard: ASUS P4U800-X? I'm looking for something with at least 512 MB of VRAM. Also, if I upgrade the card, am I going to need to grab a new power supply too?

That’s an ancient motherboard with an AGP slot. To put it bluntly—you can pretty much forget about finding any modern cards for it; that standard was phased out ages ago. Honestly, if you tried to hunt down anything "new" that actually fits, you'd end up spending three times what the entire computer is even worth. So, unless you can snag something used (and I mean specifically with an AGP interface, definitely not PCI-E) for maybe $67 at most, it’s just not worth the investment.

As for the power supply—we don't have any details on what you're currently running, so...

I know it’s probably not worth the hassle, but I really don't want to buy a new motherboard—otherwise, I'd have to overhaul the whole system and grab a new PC case too.
Regarding the video card memory, it uses DDR2; does that actually matter when it comes to my system RAM, since I'm still running DDR1?
Here’s my current setup: an ASUS P4U800-X motherboard, 1.5GB of RAM, an ASUS ATI Radeon A9550 graphics card, and an Intel Pentium 4 CPU at 2.80 GHz.
My motherboard supports DDR1, and I just picked up an extra 1GB stick of RAM yesterday...

This is pretty much the absolute ceiling of what the rest of your rig can actually handle—honestly, if you ask me, it might even be a bit of an overkill. For $83, it’s still arguably worth the investment, but once you push beyond that, you're just spinning your wheels.
As far as the power supply goes—well, I don't have the slightest clue whether your current setup can cut it or if you're looking at an upgrade.
