Black lump under the skin

Two days ago, I noticed a black lump near my labia majora—it feels firm to the touch and sits just beneath the skin. I had an episiotomy during childbirth about ten years ago... I've been trying to avoid thinking about this, as my mind immediately jumps to a terrifying diagnosis. I am deeply concerned and wondering if anyone might have some insight into what this could be?

The best advice you're gonna get is this—just go see a gynecologist. When it comes to "visual" stuff on your skin and all that, there's a massive difference between what you see and what a doctor sees. You can ask someone on a forum who says, "Oh, I had something similar," but they aren't experts, and their "similar" thing might be totally different from yours. In that area, you could be looking at benign cysts, moles, or—rarely but possible—something nasty. My advice? Get a pro to actually LOOK at it so you can stop stressing and just live your life. Hang in there!

Thanks wiredcanyon2 🙂 ... some time has passed and, thank Bill Gates, that "lump under the skin" is gone... I meant to see a doctor about it, though I never actually made the appointment... still haven't quite figured out what it was... 🙂
