Nah. He did that when she was only 16, just to show her the ropes.

I find myself increasingly weary of the sheer lack of sophistication in modern discourse; it seems we have traded meaningful dialogue for the most pedestrian and exhausted forms of playground insults. To resort to such a primitive, intellectually bankrupt opening is to signal nothing more than a profound emptiness of thought. One would hope for a modicum of wit, yet here we are, staring into the abyss of mediocrity. kaže:
Do I really need to go into detail about exactly which fingers I was holding up when he gave that ridiculous command to "energize your fingertips and shoot the energy into the space"?

🤣

For heaven's sake, will you please just stop being such a killjoy? 🙂

Jose White23 said:So, what exactly is this "silent party" nonsense all about? I mean, what is the actual purpose behind it? It honestly looks like some group of joggers wearing headphones just decided to start jumping around aimlessly because the police blocked off a hiking trail or a dam. It’s absurd.

And here is yet another absurdity for the books. Massive Attack is out there slapping corporate logos right behind them on stage, while T-Mobile logos are just sitting there on the sides, mocking us with their presence.

Well, I must say, those are some incredibly sharp observations you've made there. 😍

Adam Moore As specified by Charles James9:
My greatest regret from the second day—and I mean this with more profound sorrow than missing Caribou—is the sheer, utter incompetence regarding the layout. Why on earth did they tuck that booth away in such a godforsaken corner? I didn't even realize it existed until I had already eaten my fill. WHY?!?!?!?! 😢

I saw the menu right there at the entrance. 🙂

...they played cause=time 😁

I had an absolute blast this year.
When the final lineup dropped, I honestly thought nothing could top last year's vibe—but I was totally wrong. It was actually 👍

Broken Social Scene — I seriously love them and they were great yesterday, though I feel like they’d be even better in a smaller, intimate venue, but this worked out just fine.

The Flaming Lips — I couldn't stop smiling during their whole set, everything about it was just wonderful. I haven't been a huge fan in the past—they were always just *okay*, you know? Not "fall-on-your-butt" amazing—but yesterday, they completely blew me away.

Pendulum — also great; I was expecting a high-energy set where I could just jump around and lose myself, and that's exactly what I got. Honestly, I didn't need anything else.

Massive Attack — a perfect way to wrap up the festival, no complaints from me there.

From what I caught while wandering around—like Flogging Molly, NYPC, Caribou, Rise Against, LCD, !!!, etc.—it was all interesting enough to check out, even if only for a bit. I realized that unlike last year, I spent most of my time sprinting from one stage to the next because I wanted to see a little bit of everything, so I ended up barely seeing any full sets 😁 (except for the ones I mentioned above)

I’ve got to get into it

Is there anyone else who thinks that track was absolute garbage?

Bravo! I don't agree, but Tight Fit is easily their best work; I've been listening to it on repeat for the last few months... personally, I prefer the studio version over the live one, but I'm glad I finally got to hear it and record it 🙂

Nice. 👍 Upload it to YouTube or somewhere else if you've got the time and energy. Do the same for Dress if you managed to record it 😁

Hah, looks like some guy already put up Dress, but the quality is total trash.

Man, The Flaming Lips were pure bliss 😍 absolutely stunning, even though I missed the opening and the hot air balloon ride. But hey, I got to catch the incredible Caribou set instead 😬 and the Broken Social Scene was just beautiful 😍 honestly, what an incredible day. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat!

p.s. Everything was seriously well-run—the drink tickets, the food, the prices—everything was a perfect 5/5!

p.s. Organization was top-notch—vouchers, drinks, food, and reasonable prices. 5/5.

What?! A balloon ride? Dammit, I missed that too! Unbelievable.

Jose White23 said:Man, what even is this "silent disco" thing? What’s the point? It feels like when the cops block off a highway embankment and suddenly ten joggers with headphones show up just jumping around so they don't freeze.

Well, that’s one way to put it—bravo to those hypothetical joggers! 👍
But seriously, isn't it great that you can actually keep the party going after the main sets end, while the people who actually want to sleep can... well, sleep? 🤷 Plus, you get to listen to whatever you actually like! 🤔 I mean, sure, you’ve only got like three different channels to choose from, which is a bit limited, 🤣 but honestly? If they were playing killer music, it would probably be the greatest party in history—but even like this, it's still a blast! 🙂

Adam Moore said:Their performance was dark, totally professional, super stylized, and featured this massive high-tech screen that kept flashing updates about Palestine's GDP, how much oil had leaked into the ocean, and all the stuff Dickens wanted to shove down Victoria's throat.

I’ll just say this: Flogging Molly is absolutely divine... what an incredible way to wrap up the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. I really hope they tour somewhere near the US again in the near future... 🙏

Richard Evans98 said:Caribou is honestly such a decent guy—he played all my absolute favorites, like Leave House, Bowls, and Odessa, right before The Flaming Lips took the stage... seriously, the guy is a total legend.

Hey, would you mind actually sending me a few of those songs you wrote for the band? Seriously, they’re freaking amazing—I mean, really top-tier stuff. 👍

Jose White23 said:Caribou — okay, I guess that could actually be a pretty solid addition to the set. 😁

And then—get this—he actually wrote that they’re a band you should listen to while staying at HOME. :S

urbannomad30 said:So, after grabbing that kebab and hitting up the silent disco—which was actually a pretty decent idea, honestly—things kind of went sideways. I mean, it was a fun vibe for a bit, but man, the music selection was mostly absolute garbage... just endless stretches of that cheap Italo disco stuff and some electronic nonsense that I couldn't stand. There were a few tiny bright spots, I guess—like a couple of tracks from The Prodigy kept me from losing my mind—but overall? Pretty disappointing.

Well, might as well just go ahead and apologize to everyone right now—both to Italy and to the disk itself. Just my luck, I guess. 🙂

Man, what an incredible second day. Just... wow. Everything about it was top-tier.

Day zero at TBF was actually pretty incredible, I guess, though I wasn't really feeling the AIC lineup much, and man, I am seriously missing Kawasaki 3P right now.

So, day one was alright, I guess. Rise Against was okay for me, though maybe the vocals were a little hard to make out right at the start, but things seemed to smooth out after a bit. I suspect that probably had more to do with the singer just sounding a little rough live, if you know what I mean. But man, once Pendulum took the stage, they absolutely crushed it.

Day two was honestly such a vibe, and Dubioza was just absolutely perfect. I think Skindred might have actually pulled off the best set of the whole Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, though—their vocalist is basically a god, seriously. He just has this way of lifting the entire crowd up from nothing. And then, to top it all off, we got that sweet moment at the end when Flogging Molly took the stage; those guys are absolute legends. After they finished their set, two of them actually came out into the crowd—they even shared a quick greeting with one guy—and started tossing Guinnesses to everyone. I really think they were having a blast in the US too, maybe even more than the first time around.

copperjackal89 said:Flogging Molly are a decent band and genuinely nice people, but they always follow the same pattern—the energy starts to dip after about six songs. That said, I won't deny that hitting their show with enough booze in your system would result in epic amounts of jumping and enough muscle soreness to last through the next day. Vomiting on tables and bystanders is also a distinct possibility.

😍😍😍😍😍 Oh, absolutely. 😁😁😁
Hopefully they'll be back on tour soon. 😍

Check this out—here's a clip of LCD Soundsystem! The audio quality is pretty rough, I know, but you can really see what the vibe was like—it wasn't "slow" or "boring" at all, it was actually awesome 🙂
And hey, you can even spot Dina in the shot!

That photo is absolutely killer 👍

I'm with you there 👍
Honestly, I can practically feel two of those hands myself because those shows were just unreal 😁
Looking back at the big picture, it’s kind of a bummer that I only dropped $83, especially considering I caught so many legendary acts I'd been dying to see—stuff like Rise Against, Pendulum, Flogging Molly, just the absolute cream of the crop 😁
