Cox, I still can't get that scene from Ace Ventura out of my head... you know, the one where Jim Carrey is going at it on the bed and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" starts playing in the background 😂🤣

What are we even talking about? Three weeks ago, Cox and Kudrow did an interview saying the movie was nothing special. So where is all this new info coming from?

This marks the third time I’ve heard conflicting rumors about whether this movie is actually getting made—it’s either happening or it isn't, depending on who you ask lately. 🤷
Even though the folks over on the US forums seem just as uncertain, and I haven't stumbled upon any concrete updates on the official websites of the actors involved, I still tend to believe that where there's smoke, there's fire. 🧐

What are you all so worried about regarding the movie (assuming they even make one)? Honestly, the series was epic—I don't get the constant nitpicking. It doesn't actually matter how the movie turns out, even if my expectations are high. If it ends up being a total disaster, whatever—it won't kill my respect for the original show. Once the film actually drops—if it ever does—then you can judge whether it should have happened or not. Until then... shhh!

I have such an affinity for this series, so I’m genuinely hoping for at least a halfway decent film adaptation... though, given how things usually go, 🤔

So, what's the bottom line here?
Nothing?

The last post was from a year and a half ago, and since the year is wrapping up, I suppose logic suggests nothing is going to come of any of this. It seems especially unlikely, given that there isn't even a mention of the film in any of the actors' biographies.

As much as I’d love to see this movie happen, I can't help but feel like the timing just isn't right anymore, especially since the main cast is getting up there in age...

Honestly, it’s probably better if they don't turn it into a movie. I mean, look at *The X-Files*, *Sex and the City*... those were all massive hits that absolutely flopped when they tried to hit the big screen. In my opinion, when a series becomes a household name on TV, it just doesn't translate to the cinema. Especially since this is a comedy series... it just doesn't belong in a theater.

Honestly, my gut is telling me this isn't happening anytime soon; I mean, it was supposed to be here by 2011 at the latest. We’re already staring down the end of August and there hasn't been even a tiny hint of progress from the folks over at Friends...
