Hey
Not sure if this is the right spot for this—I tried searching for a thread about vitamins but came up empty, so if the mods need to move this somewhere else, please feel free...
So, here's the deal. I went to get one of those vitamin and mineral screenings done—you know, the kind where you hold a metal device in one hand while they run the reading on the other.
Everything actually looked great, except for my calcium and omega levels. The technician was honestly pretty shocked; she couldn't wrap her head around how low they were. To be honest, I’m a little confused by it too, but oh well.
I'm wondering, though—how reliable is that kind of testing really? She suggested I cut back on coffee, which I totally agree with and plan to do. She also told me to scale back on meat 😕. But why? Specifically regarding protein intake... that's a bit of a headache for me because I work out regularly and need to eat plenty afterward—plus, I tend to lose weight too easily, which is the last thing I want...

Honestly, this just feels like another total cash grab... I mean, claiming you can measure mineral content just by holding some metal in your hand? That sounds like pure pseudoscience to me. I'd definitely steer clear of that kind of "testing" and whatever fake results they're peddling...

I promise this isn't just some clickbait—I just couldn't quite wrap my head around the exact title 😁

I disagree with Scott Allen10. I tend to favor standard biochemical blood analysis methods more...

If you aren’t taking an Omega-3 supplement, you are almost certainly running a massive deficit. The standard American diet is absolutely loaded with way too much Omega-6, which throws everything out of balance.
I’d strongly suggest adding a few capsules to your daily routine and making sure you're eating fatty fish—think salmon or mackerel—regularly.
Honestly, just do a quick Google search on the subject; you'll quickly see that every major medical expert agrees on how vital they are for pretty much everything, from your skin and hair to your mood and heart health.

Regarding calcium, please don't just start popping supplements blindly. Go get some blood work done at a lab first. It is entirely possible you have a deficiency if you aren't consuming dairy, or worse, you could be dealing with osteopenia or osteoporosis without even realizing it.
Get it checked out.
