After seeing how much they butchered the first one, you really have to wonder why they even bothered making a sequel to Aliens. Like, what was the point of such a massive letdown?

Look, even if nothing else, at least Max Payne looks great visually. I mean, the actor was honestly terrible—just totally wrong for the part—but man, that atmosphere? Spot on.

But you gotta admit, that first Resident Evil movie was killer. It actually had soul, you know? After that, they just went overboard. They turned them into these totally generic, boring slogs where they try to overcomplicate the plot for no reason. Why mess with it? If only they’d stuck to the vibe of the first Resident Evil, maybe we wouldn't be feeling so let down.

I was pretty damn disappointed after watching The Box. 🙏 The trailer does such a good job of making you think it’s actually going to be something interesting, but the whole thing turned out to be a total waste of time, especially with Cameron Diaz giving such a lackluster performance in the lead role. 🤮
Even Sorority didn't do much better than The Box, since instead of the horror we were promised, we just got some cheap, pseudo-horror flick with bits of comedy thrown in. 😕

My biggest regret is seeing both movies at AMC Theatres; it definitely wasn't worth the trip to AMC. 🙏 👎

Exactly! I could probably watch that one a hundred times and never get tired of it, whereas watching DK felt like a chore by the second time through.
Out of all the recent movies I was hyped for, Public Enemies was the biggest letdown for me. It isn't even a bad film, really, but I suppose when you're watching something by Mann, you always expect a masterpiece.

Honestly, there isn't a single movie out there that I don't go into expecting something absolutely massive.
Some of them hit that mark perfectly, while others just fall short of the ideal.

So, I finally sat down and worked my way through all six Harry Potter films. Honestly? After immersing myself in the books, I was expecting something significantly more substantial. Every single movie seems to stumble over these little inconsistencies—you know, those moments where a specific detail or action is attributed to one character in the novel, only for someone else to take center stage in the film version, or just general plot deviations that feel a bit unearned. It’s a bit frustrating when you have such a clear vision from the reading experience. I’m holding out a tiny bit of hope that splitting the seventh book into two movies might actually yield something better, though I’ve lowered my expectations quite a bit by this point... still, a person can dream, I suppose. 😉

I’ve heard nothing but praise for The Descent. It isn't a bad movie by any means, but I expected much more from it.

Without a doubt, a few heavy hitters from this year's lineup definitely make the cut: Public Enemies, Invictus, The Lovely Bones, and Dorian Gray...

Those are just the most recent ones I can recall off the top of my head... though there are honestly so many more than that...

Clerks II is definitely the winner here.😢
