Star Wars: The Clone Wars

image

Mark your calendars, because Star Wars: The Clone Wars is hitting theaters on August 15th. This movie is basically the big kickoff for the animated Clone Wars series that’s set to premiere this fall. It’s being directed by Dave Filoni, and honestly, the voice cast is stacked—we’ve got legends like Samuel L. Jackson voicing Mace Windu, Christopher Lee as Count Dooku, Anthony Daniels playing C-3PO, and Matthew Wood as General Grievous. My only real gripe is that we won't hear Frank Oz voicing Yoda this time around; instead, they're using Tom Kane, who actually handled the Yoda role back in the original Clone Wars series.

You can check out the movie trailer right here. I'm here..

It's finally out.
From what I can gather, the timeline sits right between Episode II and Episode III.
Apparently, Anakin Skywalker even has his own apprentice in this animated film.

Yeah, exactly. The Clone Wars are happening right in that gap between those two movies, obviously. 🙂

Yep, introducing the Padawan Ahsoka Tano.

BTW, they just dropped two new posters too.

How does this actually stack up against the critics of Clone Wars over at Cartoon Network? (I’ve watched everything, and if you ask me, it was absolutely top-tier)

You can pretty much look at the Clone Wars film and the series dropping this fall as a remake and an expansion of that original Clone Wars show. Basically, it’s going to be Bigger and Better. 🙂

Yeah. Either way, I'm going to check it out.
And my gut tells me we're going to see more Sith than just Count Dooku.

From what I've heard, the runtime is only about 70 to 80 minutes.

Mozda Bigger, sure—but "Better"? I'm just not seeing it. To me, this feels like one of those unnecessary 3D gimmicks. Honestly, the original Clone Wars animation was fantastic, and I don't even know how to put into words how much I absolutely loathe 3D.

We can't really decide if it's better or worse until we actually sit down and watch it.

And just because you aren't a fan of the 3D doesn't automatically mean the movie itself is bad. That’s just a matter of personal taste, not a reflection of the actual quality.

It looks pretty solid. Definitely worth checking out.

Honestly, seeing this just makes me want to go back and rewatch Sith Revenge again.😁

There won't be any Sith. There are only two, as Yoda told you.🙂 But there will be Dark Jedi.

Exactly. There are only ever two Sith—the Master and his Apprentice. They used to have more people involved back in the day, but they realized all that fighting amongst themselves was getting messy, so they settled on the rule that only two can exist at once.

Nice. That just gives me more reason to watch it.👍

Yeah, involving his Apprentice Ahsoka.

BTW—two new posters just dropped too...

how can he even have an Apprentice when I'm still just a Padawan at the start of the third part? 😕

Honestly, I haven't a clue either. We'll just have to wait and see how they handle it in the film; maybe they'll actually clear things up. It feels a little nonsensical to me too. 🤷

From what I gather, by the time we hit Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, he isn't a Padawan anymore—he's already a Jedi Knight.😉

Yeah, you're totally right: By the time we get to Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Anakin Skywalker has already climbed the ranks to become a full Jedi Knight and a legitimate war hero, still fighting right alongside Obi-Wan.

I bet we’re going to see the whole transition go down during the movie or the series—watching Anakin Skywalker finally earn his stripes as a Jedi Knight and take on an Apprentice.

We'll probably see him getting promoted to Knight and picking up his Padawan during the course of the movie or series.

I'm honestly dying to see that part. Actually, I'm dying to see the whole thing.
How long is the runtime? I heard it was around 70 minutes, but I could be totally off on that.
