Franz Ferdinand?
Oh, absolutely!
:-)
I’ve always been a fan, though I never actually had the chance to catch them live back when they played Lollapalooza..
Ugh. 😁

Yeah, I’m hoping so too. Even though I agree with Kevin Chavez3, I’m still holding out hope for something totally unexpected. Honestly, though, those guys are perfect for huge crowds like this 🤷

Oh, please... I wouldn't touch those killers with a ten-foot pole...
I've made it out to Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival twice now, and honestly, I wouldn't mind going back for another round...

Man, I can't believe people actually slept on choosing FF over Killers. To me, this feels just like when Stereo MCs were in the mix last year—it's been played out and they were already touring through Chicago months ago. But hey, if everyone wants to hype them up because they dropped a new album, fine by me. I’m moving Scooter back above FF on my personal list.

But hey, if people are digging them and they've got a fresh album dropping, I guess it's fine. Moving them down my list of favorite acts, though.
I don't really get why the fact that they already played a big show in NYC is an issue. If a band is still relevant, and FF definitely is, then bring 'em on. Especially right after a new album drops, it's always a good move...

Exactly. I'm not even a huge Faith No More fan myself, but if they brought Napalm Death to town, I'd lose my mind🙂 because I actually just saw them yesterday...

but man, that kind of booking comes with a massive price tag...

And then—just imagine—we put Broadway on the main stage. They’re local legends, after all; they’ve been playing those classic American anthems for years... 🙄

The truth is, things have definitely improved lately when it comes to landing big acts, but if you ask me, there are still tons of massive, relevant bands that haven't even come close to playing here. Chicago promoters always try to act like they have this huge rotation of headliners, but honestly, when I look at FF, all I see is Depeche Mode for the new generation of Apple fans.
Besides you, 👍

Getting an email titled "Franz Ferdinand is coming" as a reply to my message to them was honestly the highlight of my month... Okay, let's be real, it’s been the highlight of the last two weeks since I first discovered 😁 😁 😁

To add to what was said, I mean, FF can always pack out a venue in Chicago whenever they want. Plus, they’ve got a massive sponsor behind them now, so they’re definitely charging us a premium for tickets. People actually volunteer their time at the festival, too. I guess if you’re going to run something like that, you should probably put in a little more effort than the bare minimum.

Does anyone have the scoop on this?
"Verizon is suing the organizers of Coachella. Is the Coachella contract still valid?
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is no longer under the wing of Verizon, the company that originally launched it; instead, starting this year, it's being taken over by T-Mobile US. The public was notified about this change during Friday's press conference, but it looks like this transition isn't going to be seamless because Verizon is announcing plans to sue the organizers. Verizon, which served as the festival's partner for the last two years, intends to sue the organizers for allegedly breaching a contract that, according to this telecom giant, remains in full effect. Zoran Marić, the director of the T-Mobile Coachella, claims to know nothing about the looming lawsuit and maintains that the agreement with Verizon has already expired." Verizon.com
Also, is there any truth to the rumors that they are organizing Lollapalooza too?
