I actually really liked 🙂. It was pretty gripping, tense, and the acting and directing were solid. It gets a little predictable toward the end, I guess, but that didn't really kill the tension or how much I was sucked into the story. Just totally awesome 😍. My one tiny gripe: that voice-over really got on my nerves. I usually love them, but the lead actor's voice in that narration just rubbed me the wrong way... maybe it felt a bit too... pretentious? Whatever, it's a small thing. Overall, though, I walked out of the theater smiling and just saying, "Man, that was great!" 👍

I’m genuinely curious about this movie. It’s not like I’m particularly fired up about poker or anything, but the premise itself caught my eye—especially since it's based on a true story. If enough people chime in with positive reviews, I might just give it a watch. 🙂

Honestly, it just didn't do it for me. A few parts felt off, though maybe that’s just my problem 😬... It was pretty predictable and hit way too many clichés. I don't know, I was expecting something a bit more substantial...

First off, it’s not about poker; it’s about luck. Second, calling this movie boring is just wrong—it isn't even close. In fact, it’s absolutely stellar. Especially considering it comes from an American director like 😁

I hope he enjoys a long career and keeps us entertained with more films like this (and by that, I mean actually good, entertaining movies).

I can't wait to check this one out. It’s sitting at a 7.0 on IMDb, which makes me wonder if the subject matter just doesn't grab people the way it should.🤷 (to me😛)

A 7.0 just means the movie is okay, but it could definitely be way better. To me, truly great movies start once you hit that 8.0 mark...

I find it hard to trust movie ratings released within just a couple of years. You really need to wait for that two-year mark to see the true consensus. It’s also always useful to look at how specific demographics, like age or gender, influenced the vote...

And you're totally right about checking demographics. That’s always a smart move. Looking at this one, it seems like women across all ages liked it even more than men did. 😉

On the contrary. Fanbases, especially teenagers, tend to flood everything with high ratings right at the start. It takes quite a while before the hype dies down and people actually move on. Once that settles, you finally get some honest voting without all the noise.

You were absolutely right about voting by age and gender. That is a factor we should always consider. Take this movie, for instance; it clearly resonates much more with women than men across all age groups.

I find this quite strange as well. Was there some sort of handsome guy involved that caused the female members to boost his rating?

I suspect they found those girls' lifestyle in the movie far more appealing than the men's way of life. Go figure...

So, I just finished this movie and honestly, I'm kind of obsessed. Since I couldn't find a single thread about it anywhere, I figured I'd just start one myself. It’s about this brilliant college kid who basically uses his wits to hustle enough cash to scrape by at Howard... and yeah, you probably recognize the face—Kevin Spacey plays his professor. Anyway, what did you guys think? 👍
