Itβs never enough, is it?
But my buddies? Theyβll swipe whatever they can get their hands on... even when there isn't a damn reason to
Honestly, sometimes I find myself feeling genuinely envious of them, which is just pathetic, really.
Down in Cleveland, thereβs this one shop thatβs basically local legend for all the wrong reasons.
I heard about this one guy who actually managed to walk out with a 17'' LCD monitor during the dead of winter π²
Tucked right under his jacket...
And here I am, staring miserably at some piece of junk $33 while my eyes practically ache from the strain π

Haha
Man... it was quite the scene
Just like when we were kidsβeveryone would swarm the convenience store at once. Youβd have maybe two people actually paying, while everyone else just stuffed ice cream, candy bars, and whatever else they could find right into their pockets
I remember doing the exact same thing back in middle school... every single morning on my way to class, I'd duck into the corner store, buy one chocolate bar, sneak a bite out of it right then and there, and call it a day.
The last time was during my high school graduation trip. We were heading back from the beach, walked into the shop, and just started cramming ashtrays, souvenirs, and postcards into our bags... nothing useful, really, just impulse buys.

I remember one of those fifty-cent packs of gum from back in the dayβhonestly, I canβt even tell you why, maybe just because I finally got my hands on them...hands down the best gum I have ever chewed in my entire life.π π

Iβm not sure if this counts as straight-up theft, but I swear, everywhere I go, I end up buying a lighter.
Itβs like some subconscious reflexβIβll strike a light, set the lighter down right next to my wallet or my keys, and then when Iβm clearing out my stuff from the table, I just toss it right into my bag without thinking.
Iβve honestly looked down at my purse before and realized I was carrying like twenty different lighters...

Seriously, who decided I actually need to go to the gym? β-not me.π

Back in elementary school, I used to swipe all kinds of cardsβYu-Gi-Oh!, Digimon, PokΓ©mon, you name itβplus random toys...π€£ π€£ π€£ π€£ π€£ π€£π€£ I even swiped someone's ball at the local community pool once.π I can't remember everything, but I'm sure there was plenty of other petty stuff like that... π
But look, nothing major... luckily, I don't have any urge to do that anymore.π

I'm basically stealing fire from the gods here...
...and honestly? I'm doing a pretty spectacular job of it...

So, I basically stole a shirt from my niece that I actually bought for her in the first place...

That isn't stealing. π¬ π¬

I used to swipe books from the local public libraryπ³ every now and then, plus some cash when I was out on the town, and even a little teaspoon I really likedπ¬
But I don't steal anymore.π

When I was a kid, I used to swipe candy from the corner store and some loose change from my grandma... Then once I grew up, I started swiping cool glasses and mugs from bars. I don't do that anymore, nowhere to put them. π¬ π³

I suppose I should brag for a second and admit that Iβve never stolen a single thing in my lifeβnot even back in preschool.π
Actually, scratch that. I did steal something once when I was just a kid. π³
I was about seven years old at the time, and I swiped some eyeshadow from a neighbor. Honestly, the guilt ate me alive for the entire following year. I kept planning to go over and tell her just so I could feel better about myself, but I never quite had the guts to actually do it.π’ π’
Since then? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Clearly, Iβm not built for a life of crime, given how much that one little incident haunted me.π
