Our guy over in China and I should probably be popping up somewhere around when that Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival kicks off... 🙂 Plus, we'll likely be around tomorrow at roughly the same time.
I'm thinking I'll probably skip those late-night festivities though, they aren't really my scene, and besides, I've got stuff to do in the mornings. 😢

According to the official guidelines provided in the fine print:

The following items are permitted:

• personal luggage (such as backpacks)
• raincoats and small, collapsible umbrellas
• sunglasses
• mobile phones
• cigarettes and lighters
• amateur cameras

Wait, so you mean they aren't even present in the VIP lounges or at the various Events?

Alright, does anyone know if you can actually drive all the way to the Aquarius, or what the deal is? 🤔

He’s not bad. Saw him at Lollapalooza last year and it was decent enough. They play everything except the Raw Power album. So don't hold your breath for Search and Destroy, most likely.

At Rockaway, you could drive right up to the very last black line on the road on the right side of the upper map. 😬 Beyond that, it’s nothing but trees. But there was plenty of room around Central Park, and even enough space for parking.

Anyone out there willing to hook me up with a ticket? Maybe? I'm broke, but I really need to be there. 😁

🤣 🤣

Seriously though, what's the absolute worst part about this? Just asking.

Charles Young, I’d say hit up the chill zones, guaranteed good vibes there.
If you feel like it, just drift over to the other stage. 😬

Jack would’ve gone, but I'm too broke. They're pretty cute though.
So yeah, I'll probably just wander around and see if I can catch anything worth hearing.

I honestly want to give the organizers a massive middle finger for this absolute disaster.
The lines were endless for everyone without exception—whether you were trying to get through the gates, grab food vouchers, or just find a drink. There wasn't a single trash can in sight, nothing was properly marked, and the people handling the food were completely ignoring basic hygiene standards. On top of that, there were way too few bars, and the beer they served was lukewarm and foamy as hell. To make matters worse, the Verizon and Apple tents were basically trying to outshine the Apple stage itself, and the schedule was a total mess with constant delays and bands overlapping. :2up: :2up: :2up:

If you’re wondering how to absolutely wreck the event of the year, the answer is simple. Welcome to the USA !!!!

A total damn disaster. I bought my ticket two days early and ended up with this fluorescent orange wristband. I walk up and see a line stretching 20 meters deep—about a 45-minute wait just to get to the cashier. And the kicker? You have to buy vouchers for drinks first. You pay your cash, get a scrap of paper telling you how much you spent, and then you join *another* 40-meter line for an hour just to actually get your drink.
I mean, hellooo, how hard is it to set up a booth, have a cashier with a register who actually gives you change and a receipt, and then have ten people behind them pouring the drinks? It would be 100x faster.

And don't even get me started on the trash cans—they were practically non-existent. At first, I was being polite and looking for one, but then I started scanning the area and realized there's nothing.

They had bands with the exact same sound playing on different stages at the same freaking time.

Then comes the final blow when I'm heading home after the second Sonic Youth set. Apparently, you aren't allowed to take the wristband off. They’re going to be checking everyone rigorously tomorrow, and if they see it’s been taped back together, you're barred from entry. The girl selling tickets basically tells me that since it's the last night and tons of people do it, she's getting screwed over by it, so I should go ask someone else. Right on cue, some girl with AAA accreditation walks up. Honestly, I regret not asking her for her ID and name. I explain the situation—that I’m working tomorrow, I've got a massive meeting with business partners from Austria, and I can't show up looking like I've been tampering with my wristband. She rudely snaps back that I clearly haven't been to any festivals abroad. I tell her I have, and that at weekend festivals, they have systems in place. During the week, you just cut the band at the exit and give you a different color for the next day. Her response? She says I have three options: either pay for $117 again, wear a huge watch over it, or just wear long sleeves.

Haaaaaalooooo !!!!! Unbelievable nerve. I seriously hope this is the last festival in the US because we simply don't deserve anything better than this. Shameful, shameful, SHAMEFUL!!!

p.s. I'm not gonna stop on this forum, I'm seeing this through to the end....

Sonic Youth was great, and New York Dolls sounded awesome too, though I only caught them by flying from one stage to the other.
